Yeah, heavy rain and I turned the exposure up which made the reflecting one extra bright.

Front wheel drive car, the top speed is at around 320 km/h

Had BeamNG on my wishlist for a long time, kinda wish I bought it while it was on sale now. I loved messing around in the demo.
Is it going to be more than a fun tool to crash cars or not?

Well as of the latest big update (0.7) they did add the start of the campaign mode, and foundation for online scoreboards and generally quite a few gameplay oriented elements.
It's a pretty novel and complex game, so don't expect to see it become a fully fledged racing game too soon, but the devs have been working on the game steadily and truly expanded the scope of it.
Buy it now if you want to mess around, don't buy it now if you want an actual racing game.

It's such a shame this game went pay to play because it's still not in a state I'd like to pay a monthly subscription for.

With the new dev builds of PCSX 1.5, Ace Combat Zero and 5 both look amazing. Here's Ace Combat 5. They fixed the terrain problems and the vertical bars when you run in hardware and upscale. In the inis\GSdx.ini file add the line "UserHacks_mipmap=1", and then in the plugin settings, enable hacks and turn on Wild Arms Offset and Align Sprite.
