I just don't understand why the Prometheans needed to have FACES.
You mean this? [t]http://i.imgur.com/Omj8MQK.png[/t] [editline]11th October 2016[/editline] I thought they were Noble sacrifices. Also its Jorge, not George.
Not sure I like this design, feels too sleek/not angular enough.
I just don't understand why the Prometheans needed to have FACES.
The Knights are Forerunners and Humans that were composed. Due to an issue with bringing things back out of the digital realm, they became abominations. As for the Crawlers and Watchers, that's just art style bullshit. No one knows where the Soldiers or even the fucking Warden came from though.

I've been listening to some Halo music and came across this theme made by Tom Salta (the one who also did the music for Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, HAWX, Need for Speed, etc) I think he really nailed it: Too bad it wasn't used for something greater.
Too bad it wasn't used for something greater.
They also used it in a H2A/MCC trailer
I can't believe the Forerunners can't properly convert data like really
Hey man, did you really want to pay the 19.99 for that conversion software?
Sorry, got the info completely wrong. Promethean Knights look the way they look because they were designed as such. Minds scanned by the Composer contained information about their bodies but for whatever reason (apparently in Silentium it's mentioned why) could not be remade. They could, however, be transferred into existing bodies where the personalities and consciousness of the composed person would eventually take hold OR be transferred into a durance, which were originally used to retain the memories and thought processes of a deceased Forerunner. Important to note that the composed were no longer fully sentient, but from there they could be recreated into AIs like 343 Guilty Spark, 000 Tragic Solitude or be used to create a Promethean Knight. So it's basically a more advanced way of creating AIs than Humans, but still less advanced then fully sentient AIs such as Mendicant Bias or [sp]Abaddon[/sp]. So I was wrong, the design of the Knights is 100% intentional. tl;dr 343's art choices were fucking horrible and so was making a trilogy of books to avoid having to explain the important shit. It's the same music as the cinematic trailer for H2A edit: fuck i am so late on that
I can't believe the Forerunners can't properly convert data like really
IIRC it was because the Flood fucked with their rebuilding tech, not that the Composer didn't convert right.
I take it Halo 3 MCC players can't play with Halo 3 X360 players? Is there any reason to buy MCC instead of buying CE:A and Halo 3 X360 other than getting Halo 2 (I don't care about the remastered bits)?

The terminals in the remasters are also more fleshed out for those that care about lore. Don't really know about the multiplayer though, so if you're playing for that, idk.
What about 1080p60? Way better than 1152x640p~30

It seems very unlikely because the MCC was a huge deal to get players onto the Xbox One. If you don't care about all the games at 1080p 60fps? Then no. There is no reason to go onto the MCC if you are happy with what you got. Don't expect much from the Multiplayer, I don't own it but most people say its still broken. Personally, I'd say if you already had an Xbox one? The MCC is worth it for the campaigns alone as it sells for 20 dollars new on Amazon. Of course your flag says you're UK so I don't know what its worth over-seas. ODST is also 5 dollars for its campaign only and yet again, for such a cheap price I'd say its worth it. But would I buy an Xbox one alone for all this? Hell no.

Ship hype, engage. So, what is it exactly? Halo: Warfleet is our next book project with our friends and publishing partners at Egmont – think of it as a sort of “technical” companion to the recently released Halo Mythos. Created by 343 Industries, this new guide is first and foremost a cross-section reference book, with ten full-color ship cross-sections by Hans Jenssen (yes, that Hans Jenssen, of the Star Wars Incredible Cross-Sections fame) and John Mullaney (the artistic brilliance behind Firefly Serenity cross-sections). In addition, amazing brand-new secondary art pieces are being crafted by epic art folk such as Sparth, Darren Bacon, Glenn Israel, Isaac Hannaford, Tyler Jeffers, and Carlos Naranjo. The image you see here is the cover art, currently under construction in Sparth’s artistic shipyards! Halo: Warfleet is a resource book that taps into the technology, scale, design, construction, and variety of ships, space stations, and colony worlds in the Halo Universe. The book is divided into five sections: Introduction/Technical Architecture, Human Ships, Covenant Ships, Forerunner Ships, and an expansive Glossary. The text itself is crafted by the internal team here at 343, with Franchise Writer and ship-savant Kenneth Peters leading the charge. If you enjoyed Halo Mythos, you’ll love Halo: Warfleet. Designed not just for core Halo fans, Halo: Warfleet will be an awesome title to be devoured by folks interested in the sci-fi and military genres, as well as anyone who loves highly detailed technical illustrations in general. That being said, deep-lore lovin’ Halo fans will have a lot to dig into, including specific technical details and terminology once locked away in the Halo Story Bible vaults! The format is oversized to allow for larger illustrations and detail, with each spread being filled with annotations explaining the function of specific parts of a ship’s anatomy, accompanied by some history of the vehicle and statistics. Halo: Warfleet is slated for a late-2017 release, and we’ll be talking about it more – perhaps even showing off some sneak peeks at the beautiful artwork inside – as we get closer to release, so stay tuned!

Thats amazing since having forge require an internet connection was stupid
Well it needed one, how else would it get your profile info?
if you coudl save it offline and upload it after that'd be easy. it'd just store it in your local user profiel on the xbox or w/e
Been looking through the Sanghelios art recently, I'm still impressed at how well they captured the Covenant aesthetic and used it for ancient ruins and cities.
That arch is very forerunner.

Isn't sanghelios supposed to be really strong in the gravity department? You can't be that careless with stone when it weighs far more. Function>style is absolutely neccessary. That's far too elaborate.

Surely the stone used would be much denser than earth equivalents due to the extra gravity? What if it's cured in some way or has rebars in it?
That arch is very forerunner.
I don't know why people are disagreeing with Tuskin there was a forerunner object in Halo 4 that had that exact same arch.
Denser is still heavier, and rebaring to that extent... Well I'm not a construction guy. But an earthquake would fuck shit up hard.
I think you're looking into things far too much. Why can't you just enjoy the cool looking architecture?

Is Sgt Johnson a Gundam now?
