I redownloaded the forge client today and server jumped around a bit, and good god it brings back some really good feelings from old mods on CE and customs on reach, the server browser has really helped
I felt a warm feeling when i saw a gamemode on the browser called "supa snipes", it kinda reminded me of some bullshit 300% speed 50% gravity sniper/hammer mode my brother would always make us play on halo 3 (this was around 2008)
Bought the new Loot Crate. Should I give my wallet a viking death now or later?
Apparently someone got ahold of the crate early.

Some of this is kind of lame like the sticker sheet and the library card, the shirt is a definite downgrade from the Spartan IV hoodie or the ODST set. But the statue, poster, mug and letter opener are pretty cool.
That Installation 04 Public Library card is absolutely amazing

Halo is slowly approaching CS:S Zombie Escape map levels of crazy.
Hopefully one day we will see a recreation of atix_helicopter.

PC customs browser at the moment. We'd probably have more players if the fixes for PC were included with the update like they should have been.[/QUOTE]

Indeed, it may have something to do with the region, here its mostly 2-3 full pages of matches at any given time
I live in Aus myself and we've normally got a page and a quarter during the afternoon.
Man it'd be nice if we could change our spartan's voice, like the announcer voices. Having the same voice for every spartan online is boring, fuckin do something like reach did for firefight and have a bunch of major characters available

That's sad that 343 didn't design the game around a dynamic frame rate. Really disappointing.
They didn't originally intend to release on PC so why would they?
This whole line of thinking fucked up splitscreen too since it'd make it drop under 60 and break everything. I'm still confused why they couldn't just, you know, put more effort into that shit. We could've had splitscreen AND uncapped framerates if they didn't resort to this wonky programming.

Halo has had a 60fps physics engine limit since the days of Halo 2. It's still present in the MCC ODST/Halo Online engine.
And why would you change it, if it was only meant for consoles? They're designed to output 60fps constantly, not go up and down like a PC.
Hopefully, for Halo 6 they design the engine with both console and PC in mind, and don't tie the physics engine to the framerate.

I think 343 broke weapon scripting because mine don't move anymore.
Is there a way to make a weapon a static prop that you can't pick up?

Except Halo 5 wasn't coming to the PC at the time of development?

No, Splitscreen was dropped because it ran like shit on the Hardware, didn't even meet a stable 30 FPS.

That's what I mean, neither did the previous games at times, but that didn't stop Halo 1-4 from having splitscreen. The issue is that in Halo 5 it'd actually break the game if it'd run under 60, so they just cut splitscreen altogether instead of changing the programming to not get destroyed by a variable going under 60.

Halo's 1-4 in splitscreen didn't run like shit and shit crashed the console. The software isn't as much of the issue, it's the original xbox one models. Now if Halo 6 doesn't have splitscreen with the newer models out, Scorpio coming out, and PC version. Then there's no excuse.

I feel like I've had plenty of times where Halo 3-Reach-4 dipped under 30 when playing intensive firefights with a lot of explosions, though.
Yeah and it's shit when it does.
People complain when games release with a 30fps cap or perform poorly. Yet people are losing their shit because 343 wanted to make a game that never dropped below 60fps.
:why:
Reguardless of framerate, splitscreen needs to be in Halo 6.

I appreciate splitscreen a lot more than a solid 60fps when playing splitscreen because at least you'll have splitscreen to begin with.
What I'm saying is I appreciate what they did. While I too was disappointed at the lack of splitscreen, I really appreciate a dev team going out their way to ensure a solid 60fps in a world where 30fps is fine and suits games because of it's "cinematic effect."
You can cap Halo 5 on PC to 30 fps with no issues, though that might not have been possible when they were developing the full game.
Still I'd rather have split screen at 30 fps than no split screen at all

It's bad game design in general to tie game logic and physics to the frame rate instead of Delta time.

Halo 4 splitscreen only reached 30fps if you looked at the ground. Try playing multiplayer on it and it struggles to make 25
Halo 3 was the same story. I tried playing it again on original hardware and it was unbearable.

It's mostly because of their engine of choice.
It has a lot of issues, and it's a miracle it even manages 60fps at times.
IIRC Halo 5's engine is a mostly rebuilt version of Bungie's engine because of how difficult it was to work with.

I think they patched that. I do remember on launch that 4 player splitscreen had like 10fps on one map, but it seem fine after 2 weeks and a couple updates
