so this is a thing [t]http://i.imgur.com/xv7D28h.png[/t] a neat little detail i guess of h5 pc [editline]21st December 2016[/editline] 'hardware changed detected' tho
Yep, this pops up when you swap GPUs.
Alright, my mega survey is pretty much done. I'm going to test it here before I release it to a wider audience. I was forced to choose Halo 5 for sound design but I think Halo 2 was fuckin great for 2004 and reach was bungie's best. Thing about Bungie's sound team that bugs me is that they relied on library sounds for the weapons. Even if a lot of them were altered, the shotgun and the sniper rifle were both extremely recognizable to me from other shit. It cheapens them imo. I envy yall who heard these sounds for the first time in Halo.
I finished Halo 2. I liked the later levels much more than the first ones. In the end I also switched from legendary, to heroic. Legendary in general is just ridiculous with too little health and is not fun like in Halo 1, though some levels are doable. I liked the Arbiter story and his character much more than Master Chief. Also the Elites companions are more friendly to Arbiter than marines, they also sound proud and noble. I always felt bad killing grunts in Halo 1, because they were like little kids, and now when you get to know the Elites a bit more... it's a good thing I will never play Halo 3, since I would feel bad fighting against them. I will play it again, now when I'm used to low crosshair and have finally settled with a difficulty setting I will probably enjoy it more. BTW, speaking of sound design, I can barely understand anyone when they speak on the radio in Halo 2. And like in Halo 1 the music is not used enough, often it only plays once instead playing in a loop and you end up having long periods of silence.
Finish the fight.
Forgot to mention I was playing on PC. Unfortunately I will just have to watch a play-through on Youtube to finish the story.
You don't fight any Elites in Halo 3 as the Brutes become the main antagonist, the moment where you meet Elites again is actually pretty cool
I expected since it all happened so fast and was a complete mess in the end, maybe they would trick some fraction of the Elites to fight with them or something.

Because man oh man. The radar is dog shit in 5 with how small the range is.

You went from a indoor space station to fighting outside the station, then on Cairo, its beaches and tunnels and huge-ass brigde into the city center. Then onto a gas station(?) and around it, another ring and so on. The sound design in 2 was also great for its time, but for me it's a close battle between Reach and 5, IMO the covenant weapons sounded better in Reach.
Multiple choice on that one please.
Good point. Will change it now.
When we answer questions like "Do you find the in-game radar effective?" is that meant to be about Halo 5 or the series in general? Because man oh man. The radar is dog shit in 5 with how small the range is.
Yes, i'm referring to Halo 5. Should I make it more general, i.e. 'which halo game had the best implementation of the radar?' EDIT: I've added a 'best menu' question, and I've also added a 'best music' to replace the 'which composer made the best music' question. EDIT 2: I've removed the 'do you want Spartan customisability like reach to come back' because there's already a question about it. EDIT 3: I've changed the radar question to be more general. I've managed to enlist the help of the /r/halo mods in promoting the survey. As such I am vetting the questions with them first to make sure all is A-ok (I'm not sure about the last section.)

Holy fuck
Well my brother bought an Xbox One S, so who knows if i'll build up my Halo games again to catch up for lost years?
The Halo Wars 2 Open Beta is updating for me, anyone else getting this?
The Halo Wars 2 Open Beta is updating for me, anyone else getting this?
There's going to be another Halo Wars 2 beta scheduled next year before the February release on the Xbox and PC. Great to try it out if you missed out on the first beta to those who lost out on it.
Late but no one posted it. Merry Christmas.
Don't forget the new helmets teased in the Monitor's Bounty infographic will be coming in early 2017 (for $ or RP). Might not want to fully turn your RPs into Gold Packs just yet. ;)
https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/5j9onw/is_it_a_bad_idea_to_sell_all_my_reqs_to_buy_more/dbei815/
So, this was found in the new HW2 files. Which is a new render of the menu Spartan from the Beta (whom is now replaced with a Brute) [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/GG1ILqZ.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Since Douglas gets fucked, I assume it's going to be his. There's a few changes to it, I think. The chest has definitely gotten some changes, from the look of the shaping in the new image it's become a lot more pronounced and closer to the look of the Mk IV armor. Looks a lot better for it too IMO.
This is a farfetched guess, and it doesn't make that much sense because of the lack of a gold visor but the combination of the MKVI styling, green colouring, and the scuff on the right breastplate makes me think it's some kind of Master Chief homage On another note, the armour itself looks super low detail in comparison to the MKIV models we've seen in the cinematics

It's an entirely new armor based on Mk IV and Mk VI. [IMG_thumb]http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/halo/images/2/22/H5G_Render-Armor_MarkIV.png/revision/latest?cb=20151205045753[/IMG_thumb] It shares some styling from Mk VI but the asymmetry of the shoulder armor (edit: looked at the image wrong, they're symmetrical) and the lines on the torso show it's also based on Mk IV. It's not Mk VII armor (although no one even knows what the fuck that is anymore, could be Reach armor but that's also Mk V armor) either.

Turns out there's more than just one new background.

It's already an excessive amount of detail for an RTS unit.
it's probably not gonna change. It's already an excessive amount of detail for an RTS unit.
Yeah, the Blur model will be different. The versions used for the menu screen are based more on Halo Wars 2's own visual style rather than what stuff actually looks like in-universe.
Sorta odd how they'd use unit models for these shots instead of cinematics models
The new armor art is probably just concept art that's going to be reused in a Behind the Scenes video. You can see borders between it and other panels in the right hand corner. Sounds like Joseph Staten is back for Grunt dialogue
The survey is going to go live soon. Any final questions or concerns about it?
Well done!
Ok. The survey is finally done and is ready for proliferation. I have purged all responses since the last one I did wasn't finished yet. Here's the final link: https://goo.gl/forms/BaZ5y8tXioJaKhj63 Please help me proliferate this survey. I'll post the statistics after a month. [editline]29th December 2016[/editline] Soooooooooooo it turns out that Bungie actually created the precursors before 343 did because they name dropped them in a book that came with the special edition of Halo 3 (Bestarium) Which means that my questions about preferring storylines is actually an extension of the explained/mysterious question. So I'm removing them.
