So I'm making a vr tour of various parts of halo. As a test i got Bloodgulch working, replicating materials as best i could (using Bungie's assets) Naturally, I can't get the entire game in, but i'd like to get at least 7 zones from the game in my sim. What areas would you guys like to see in VR? This is just a walk-around thing, I don't intend to do anything more complicated than possibly getting functional guns in (It depends how complicated this turns out to be; more likely I'll just put dummy props of guns in to poke around with.)
The Library
Jiralhanae terrorists have attacked Sanghelios in the past, and San'Shyuum have attacked Rtas 'Vadum and have a prototype Halo.
What
What
It's a small prototype, literally the size of a room. Still reading the novella (Shadow of Intent by Joseph Staten) so I can't say what happens to it or how powerful it is, but it's functional.
Sounds like heresy.
I havent read any of the books since I think Cole Protocol, but has there been anything about Kig-yar and Unggoy fighting each other Post-War? IIRC they absolutely hated each other and the Covenant was the only thing keeping them from really fighting.
The pre launch campaign didn't fit into the game either, "Hunt the Truth". Why did 343 hype up this idea that what we knew about Master Chief, wasn't entirely true? None of the events that occurred in this ARG are ever mentioned in game, or play a role in the story. Master Chief is framed for a massacre at a peace summit, Locke is hunting down Chief to kill him for becoming a Traitor. I'm doubtful to how 343 will fix their Halo Story for Halo 6, or how all these expanded universe books will play a role. Has 343 decided to ignore the gift the Librarian gave John in 117? Or the plotline for the novels about Humans possessing Geas of their ancestors/Forerunners?
That would be classified under "Halo 5's story was pretty much crap, nobody will argue that"

Most races haven't got their own governments aside from the Jiralhanae, the Sangheili and the San'Shyuum, so the Kig-Yar and Unggoy have been mostly under someone else's thumb since the Covenant broke apart.

Its been a long time since I've read about this stuff though. They were at least way more developed than the Unggoy at any rate, which I think were at like the brink of extinction due to overpopulation and pollution.

They haven't succeeded to rebuild one because most Kig-Yar think it's unnecessary. The only organized groups of Kig-Yar are family clans or crime "empires", neither of which are ever powerful enough to start a war on the Unggoy, and even if they were it wouldn't be worth it since Kig-Yar are driven by profit. Neither the Swords or the Storm Covenant (which, before splintering after Jul's death had been split by the destruction of Requiem, and at the beginning of Halo 5 is starting to suffer from its own Grunt Rebellion) are powerful enough to start it. Too much work for too little payout. Can't recall anything small scale between them post-Halo 3, but it might have happened at some point.
What engine are you doing it in?
Unreal 4. Might be a bit overkill but it's what I've been practicing on [editline]9th January 2017[/editline]
If you're doing Halo 1 only, then maybe the Control Room, PoA cockpit, Flood Swamp, the last area outside the Control Room, beach area of the Silent Cartographer and maybe the start of Halo come to mind.
These all seem like good areas! I might see if i can merge all the exterior sections of the silent cartographer for a full wraparound
Don't know if any of you guys played around with me when Forge got released on PC but I finally assembled the footage I captured during one of those crazy first few days of meeting up and playing with people over Discord. I hadn't had that much fun with a lobby in a very long time.
Finally got around to finishing Shadow of Intent. [sp]Prototype Halo was barely functional but was planned to be used by the San'Shyuum to wipe out all life on Sanghelios. It's now been destroyed, and with it the last known Prelate (like a Spartan, except San'Shyuum). Rtas 'Vadum has left with Shadow of Intent to hunt down the last San'Shyuum and make peace with those who are willing to, and kill those who will not. This was in 2553, so it's been six years between then and Halo Wars 2.[/sp]
So Gamecheat13 just got permabanned forever because he was releasing the prefinished builds of Halo Wars 2 too early with plot and music. [t]http://i.imgur.com/sDWizKj.jpg[/t] He's now trying to blackmail Microsoft by saying he'll release the build to people if they don't refund his entire game library.
Wow, what a dick. He knew what he was doing was wrong, it is his own fault. They'd just sue him if he did it.

So, with everyone caught up I’m basically here to say that I’m not going to be selling anything and there still won’t be any story leaks for Halo Wars 2.
Been replaying CE. I forgot how bad the AI and second half of the game was.

Of all the covenant races I imagine only 2 are well stocked for peace. The Grunts make good merchants and manual labourers, even tho they stink. The prophets make great lawyers and businessmen. The unlucky ones become tech experts. The Jackals and Brutes just steal and fight. The drones... uhm. Drone. I suppose that's peace. The hunters return to eating as worms in the earth.Peaceful, but not really with others. The elites... are way to proud. Like yeah, they have the intelligence, they just haven't had any low jobs for a while, and probably all expect to be CEOs with how much they care for honour.
I wonder if there are any hunter worms living on earth without anyone realizing
Of all the covenant races I imagine only 2 are well stocked for peace.
Nah.
The prophets make great lawyers and businessmen. The unlucky ones become tech experts.
The Prophets are currently driven by revenge against the Sangheili for: -failing to prevent Installation 04's destruction -failing to secure Installation 05 from the Flood -failing to protect the Prophet of Regret -glassing High Charity while there were still (unrescuable) survivors of the Flood -destroying any and all ships including civilian vessels leaving High Charity after the Flood took over The Prophets as a whole will not have peace anytime soon. They have an army of Jiralhanae and Yanme'e at their command and virtually all remaining Huragok, they're currently recovering from their losses but some have tried to take action against the Sangheili.
The Jackals and Brutes just steal and fight.
No, the Jackals have formed lucrative trades on colonies such as Venezia through smuggling, salvaging and doing basic services. They're the ones that reek, not the Unggoy. Brutes will do whatever the hell they want, and still don't quite understand that the Forerunners were not gods.
The drones... uhm. Drone. I suppose that's peace.
They've got great technical knowledge and were used to repair equipment alongside Huragok. They're also not to be fucked with, they gave the early Covenant a run for their money.
The hunters return to eating as worms in the earth.Peaceful, but not really with others.
Hunters are far from peaceful. On marooned Covenant ships they were known to eat the crew while waiting for rescue. That and what happened in Nightfall.
The elites... are way to proud. Like yeah, they have the intelligence, they just haven't had any low jobs for a while, and probably all expect to be CEOs with how much they care for honour.
Not really. They're still crazy about honor, but they're rapidly changing in the wake of the Great Schism. It's really not about the individual races, more each faction. The Unggoy and the Kig-Yar for example can't declare war on each other because neither have any formal power structure to do it through.
Fucking christ who let the grunt sing? With those facial animations? This is why the gas mask goes over the mouth. Also, Arbiter sounds less Elite and more human Kieth David than he's done in past games.

Yea seems like most of the game they didn't give him enough Arbiter voice modding
So now that I have an xbox one I've played the campaign. I dub Fireteam Osiris Team Tacticool Flashy Pants
Anyone have tips for going through Halo 1 on legendary. This shit is driving me nuts.
use the pistol there is no other strategy
Makes sense, I've gotten to bit on level 3 with the invisible sword elites and I want to kill myself.
Needler is your best friend, especially against those elites.

What is the trouble you are facing? I thought halo 1 legendary was easy, and the easiest of all halo games
