Hasn't taken long for the trolls to infest the Beta. First match and my asshole teammate disconnects at the start.
Beta connection issues = Troll infestation?
Beta connection issues = Troll infestation?
When I wrote that I thought that the beta was more of a last chance to balance the game since it had gone gold, I just thought it was unlikely that connection troubles were the problem. Having read the FAQ on known bugs now, it was pretty fucking dumb of me to say. The Beta is pretty fun now that I've spent more time with it. Anyway. Voice actor for Sesa 'Refumee (the Heretic in Halo 2) is dead. The first mission (including cinematics) and the intro cinematic to the second mission have been uploaded to Mediafire. Not sure if linking to them would be allowed and they're not up on Youtube as far as I can tell, but they're up on the Halo and HaloStory subreddits. Supposedly the audio files GameCheat13 found are still in, so now might be the time to watch out for spoilers.
Anyone think 343 will do a Halo Wars 2 update in Halo 5? New weapons, armor, and vehicles from the game? I'd like to see the Banished Banshee
Anyone think 343 will do a Halo Wars 2 update in Halo 5? New weapons, armor, and vehicles from the game? I'd like to see the Banished Banshee
I have a feeling that those Brute weps that GameCheat13 found last year will turn up in a HW2 update soon, along with all of those helmets. Think of it as the nostalgia update.
Blitz beta is pretty fun on PC, but a friend said it's not as much on Xbox due to people not knowing what they are doing.

Here are the helmets if you didn't know/forgot
So do Halo 5 players get anything for picking up Halo Wars 2 or vice-versa?
5 gold packs. so far nothing announced for stuff in Halo wars 2. To anyone who follows the story, is anyone else a little bit annoyed about what 343 had done with the ark? I'll explain. In the Halo 3 epilogue it was mentioned that firing the replacement installation 04 "did a number on the ark". When we go back to it in "Hunters in the Dark", we see what remains of High Charity, and life forms which survived the firing of the array, despite the close proximity of the blast to the ark. The one thing we don't see is the Flood. Back in Halo 1 Cortana said "Halo doesn't kill the flood, it kills their food, Human, Covenant, whatever, we're all equally edible. And that is exactly what Halo does, it kills their food. Leaving the Galaxy clean of all sentient life" (this is from memory). So why were the animals preserved? It's not mentioned in 'Hunters in Dark' i believe. Yet for some reason the flood vanished without a trace. In terms of 343's plot, did the Gravemind send all flood forces to the replacement ring? And if so wouldn't we still see tons of biomass on and in High Charity and some on the ark? And of course i have to bring it up, What about Mendicant Bias? What is up with that? We should of at least heard from him in 'Hunters in the Dark'. 343 Guilty Spark some how survived, despite taking multiple spartan lasers to the face, the destruction of the ring, and the resulting explosion. Here's hoping he appears in Halo Wars 2.
I'm pretty sure that the replacement halo never actually fired, it just overloaded and exploded in the process of firing. It just firing wouldn't have done any actual damage to the ark since, like you said, all it does is kill sentient life. [editline]20th January 2017[/editline] Also most animals aren't sentient. [editline]20th January 2017[/editline] Like I'm not 100% sure and I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure the Forerunners only archived sentients and left most animals because they knew that they wouldn't be affected by the halos firing.
That UNSC sniper looks so out of place compared to every other unit
I see where you're coming from. However: that's an upgraded sniper, hence the railgun rather than the anti material rifle. You don't know how upgraded the guy is (and they have a cloak now, so they'd need new stuff on them, yeah) and maybe the armour comes from the upgrades. The helmet is weird, but I remember the old pilot helm being really bizarre looking. So it's not that much of a deviation from design compared to say, 343 stuff.

Here's hoping he appears in Halo Wars 2.
The reason why the Flood isn't still present on the Ark is because it complicates the story way too much. Having the Flood in control and rebuilding far outside known space and ready to return at any time disrupts... basically everything in the rest of the series because of how catastrophic that would be. The Flood and the Gravemind will be back eventually, though. The reason why animals were preserved is because that's what the Halo array does. It kills everything, including sentient life. Anything with a nervous system gets practically liquidated, and only microbes, fungi, etc can survive. You wipe out all of their combat forms, all of their biomass, and all of their food. But you don't wipe out the Flood. I04B was unfinished and unstable, any number of things could have been going on inside it at the time, but the destruction was big enough to nearly wipe out the Ark. Mendicant Bias is complained about a lot by the lore community, but he stated in the Terminals he was at the end of his life. Not unreasonable to think he died. As for Spark, IIRC he was functional enough to teleport out of I04B's control center but still got destroyed in the resulting explosion. An ONI team found severely damaged fragments of him and connected him up to the UNSC Rubicon, which he quietly took over and now controls.
Didn't he also loose his memory?
The opposite, actually. Because of the logic plague, the Forerunners prevented Guilty Spark from knowing his origins in case that knowledge would help the Flood. Now that his memories are no longer suppressed, he remembers who he was before becoming Guilty Spark and tells the crew of the Rubicon about it.
Anyone wanna 2v2 or 3v3 on Blitz PC? Message or add me on XBL "The Gubefather"
Halo Twitter just posted this: [IMG_thumb]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C2qJwINWIAAeWL4.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Apparently it's meant to be Retriever Sentinel, which could mean we visit the Halo in the Ark's forge. IMO it's also a pretty bad design compared to Bungie's and 343's.
I would think that's concept art and not representative of the final game, unless it was pupped from the game or something.
At least it looks like classic Forerunner without any glowy bits or floating pieces.
I would think that's concept art and not representative of the final game, unless it was pupped from the game or something.
nope, it doesn't look much better in-game, but at least the final version has the legs on the bottom at 24:30 and 26:52
343i's looks like a Reaper
I don't see the resemblance.
I don't see the resemblance.
343's looks more like an Engineer or a mushroom with tentacles to me.
The only big difference I can see between the two designs is the Top of it, the bottom and the 'head' look the same.
Damn, 28 game winning streak ended in beta because my teammates quit or dropped out in a 3v3. Anyone trying to linkup on PC today?

It's nice to see actual technical data on the framerate.
