I didn't realize they fixed some of the Halo 1 PC bugs in the MCC. I want those 60FPS animations on PC.
I didn't realize they fixed some of the Halo 1 PC bugs in the MCC. I want those 60FPS animations on PC.
What bugs did they fix?
What bugs did they fix?
If you watch the video, they fixed some of the shader issues and visual bugs, though not all of them.
I never really liked their design philosophy of only fixing the bugs that they bring in and leaving all of Bungie's unless they broke the game
I never really liked their design philosophy of only fixing the bugs that they bring in and leaving all of Bungie's unless they broke the game
I can't remember any real Bungie bugs still left in MCC. Some MP bugs can only be avoided with thicker geometry and invisible walls.
Probably getting the full announcement soon, maybe with tomorrow's community update. Mark IV Delta is Legendary, EVA is Ultra Rare, Military Police is Ultra Rare, Recon GEN1 has been downgraded to Rare, Security GEN1 is Rare, Operator GEN1 is Rare, EOD is Rare, CQB and Pilot is Rare.
Was thinking about possibilties for Halo 6 and I think it'd be rather rad if Marty O'Donnell was brought back to work alongside Kazuma for the last part of chief's story, You've got the sort of modern take on the soundtrack with Kazuma and then O'Donnell just has his own magic from the original trilogy as for the "new" helmets, the Mark V Delta is looking extra sexable, but a lot of the other helmets are rather small in size, they make your spartan look like a proper pinhead

As for Kazuma and Marty, Marty mentioned in his AMA a while back that he'd be happy to work with Kazuma. Apart from them both turning up at the same theater, nothing else is really known. Joseph Staten could be back though.
It's especially noticable when you wear bulky armour with it

I keep hearing this from my brother but he thinks there's some update in February that changes how the armor customization works, going from the current Helmet Visor Armor set up to one similar to Reach or 4's armor customization. And I can't find anything on it. Personally I think it's just the Halo 3 helmets he's referring to.
So just for fun I made a side-by-side comparison of the pillar of autumn in each of its appearances throughout the series (h1, h2, reach) [t]http://imgur.com/xuQgUHb.jpg[/t]

They're just releasing the Reach helmets and new skins. We might see some new Legendary REQs such as Emile's Shotgun and Jun's Sniper Rifle, both of which were featured in the Halo 5 Artbook. That game did not age well.
It was an absolute bitch getting it look accurate to halo 2 in UE4 btw. The tech really isn't super compatible
Can definitely tell which one is from Halo 2 with just a glance. That game did not age well.
To be fair though it's a model you see for about 3 seconds in a couple cutscenes. They had to cut a lot of corners in the shorter time they had. Hell the Autumn is even just reusing the Marathon model instead of it's proper look.

Of course you do! Well, we're getting closer to release. Normally the team really doesn't like publicly revealing dates and timelines because it can inevitably create hardships if a techincal issue arises causing a schedule to slip. There is always a chance that a best laid plan doesn't work out as intended so take what I'm about to tell you with a big grain of salt. Pencil it in with an asterisk because it is always subject to change. Ok, we on the same page? Cool, because I really want to tell you that the Classic Helmet REQ pack will be released on Feb. 9! Now don't get upset if something changes (in the unlikely event that it does change I'll let you know), but I wanted you to have proper expectations because there's a lot of excitement in the community for this (internally too!). The helmets will not be released alongside any other content for Halo 5. They are their own thing and techincally part of Monitor's Bounty. The Halo 5 team has been hard at work squashing a number of bugs and making techincal improvements and is working on a maintenance update for sometime in the near future. Sorry, I known we're having a mature and candid discussion but the nature of the work being done on that update is way more complicated and fluid so I'm not able to give a firm timeline yet. Just know that the team wants to get it out as soon as possible since it's work that will improve aspects of the Halo 5 experience for everyone. More to come.

Can definitely tell which one is from Halo 2 with just a glance. That game did not age well.
I can see they went with the "we must bumpmap EVERYTHING" approach

Halo is finally starting to look like Halo again
Halo is finally starting to look like Halo again
You'll love the Recon helmet description.
ONI teams responsible for information sanitization operations on Created-occupied Earth have access to cutting-edge stealth and cyberwarfare suites. Among these tools are upgraded and up-armored RECON [GEN1] helmets custom-made for individual operatives.
Old artstyle confirmed back in fashion.
You'll love the Recon helmet description. Old artstyle confirmed back in fashion.
honestly i wouldnt jump to that conclusion just yet. all this reach stuff theyre porting over recently (grenade launcher included) is literally just the exact old model with new textures
honestly i wouldnt jump to that conclusion just yet. all this reach stuff theyre porting over recently (grenade launcher included) is literally just the exact old model with new textures
They're actually not the old models. There's a number of small, almost unnoticeable changes. In the case of CQB: [IMG_thumb]https://www.halopedia.org/images/6/65/HR_CQB_Hel_Ref.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]https://www.halopedia.org/images/8/87/H5G-CQBhelmetmodels.jpg[/IMG_thumb] The grooves on the back are actually modeled in instead of being textures and those intakes on the sides weren't even there before, they were cylinders. Beyond that, the description of the Recon helmet makes it canon that the UNSC remnants are refurbishing old tech in wake of the Created, and generally the lore tidbits like this hint at massive changes to come such as Mantle's Approach being pulled into slipspace after it was blown up at the end of Halo 4.
Classic Helmet REQ pack
So the new helmets will have their own REQ pack? That would be amazing
So the new helmets will have their own REQ pack? That would be amazing
Yeah. Ske7ch said that they're working on the price at the moment. So it might not be like previous "special" REQs that cost $10/100,000 REQ points. I'm hoping we get armors next, Reach had a lot of really diverse armor choices. Would be relatively easy to get into Halo 5 too, just develop a single base variant (or use an existing one, like Noble) and create separate versions with the different Reach chest-pieces.

A lot of those details will likely be confined to a normal map.
