That looks like a high poly model to me. A lot of those details will likely be confined to a normal map.
Nah, the Waypoint customizer is showing all of the minor details in 3D, even the tiny grooves along the side. It is a high poly model though, came from a Liquid Development account a few months back which was how we found out CQB was coming.
Damn i wish they would release Warzone on pc, it looks like fun, hears hoping we get a Halo 3 Anniversary this year, and if they do i wonder if 343 will continue their trend of terminals that tie into the next Halo game. I could honestly see terminals from the Spirit of Fire's and Atriox's perspective on the ark

Warzone does look pretty fun, and given that it would be free cash from the REQs I'm not sure why they haven't done it yet. Sadly, Frank O'Connor confirmed no H3A (he did say the same thing about H2A, but it was true at the time), and Phil Spencer has stated nothing from Gears or Halo will be leading the show this year.
Results are in for the Halo Mega-Survey!

So, I found a leak of the entire first mission of Halo Wars 2, along with the opening and mid-mission cutscenes, am I allowed to post that or would I get banned? It's just a video.

If it's a Youtube link I think it should be fine, but I'm not sure. There should be a second video of Mission #2's intro cutscene that was leaked along with the first mission a few weeks ago. [sp]They're both pretty good IMO, although the intro to Mission #2 does leave a sour taste for me in that no one answered the question of "How the fuck are we going to stop Atriox?"[/sp]

Uhhh, a neogaf post saying "No plans for H3A at this time" is not a confirmation that H3A is not happening. An offical statement from MS, 343, or lack of announcement at E3 is your confirmation. The same is said about any potential project that they don't want revealed yet.
Alright. Spoilers inside, obviously.

Huh, they're using the Halo 1 & 2 Plasma Sword design with the curved base.

Well yea, Banished don't have access to the newer swords and they scavenge old shit
Yet the Spirit has the new warthogs even though they just arrived there
[editline]31st January 2017[/editline]
I think 343 just up and retconned the warthog design since it is also in Halo 2 anniversary

Frank O'Connor doesn't speak out on things that they don't want to reveal yet, and is fairly trustworthy.

Lore reason is as stated earlier, Banished use whatever tech and Energy Swords have no difference but aesthetic, really. There are a number of reused models from Halo 2 Anniversary, such as the BR, Marines, ODSTs, Drop Pods, Warthogs, Shotgun, some Elites, etc.

Yup. I wouldn't mind it if the Warthog looked as sleek as Bungie's but with the bars at the front. Even then, the Warthog redesign was one of 343's few decent redesigns so it's not too bad.
Watched a video about potential stories Halo 6 might bring recently and thought about how Halo 6 might even start, so I gave it a little thought of my own and thought it would be pretty rad if Halo 6 recaptures the kind of rising up and fighting back like what Halo 3 did.
A pretty cool way to do this (and this is all just my imagination) would be if the game takes place quite a bit after 2558/2559, talking maybe 10 years and maybe stick a major war in there, and The Created have majority rule over the charted Galaxy and the UNSC are put into a sort of insurgent type role. Quite similar to the sort of feel the story of XCOM 2 has.
Now the wait for Halo Wars 2 is feeling longer because I'm super curious about the ending, I'm adamant it'll merge with the Reclaimer Saga
2nd mission opening cutscene. More spoilers, obviously, and even if I find more leaks, I'm not watching anything past, or posting anymore, but I am so hyped for this game. Really recaptures the feeling of Humanity with their backs to the wall, and really, just the feeling of Halo. Also, turn your volume up a lot, it's really quiet, otherwise.

Ten years is too long, Cortana already controls most of human space and at least the Grunt homeworld (Balaho) has pledged allegiance. You're right about the insurgency thing though, some of the fluff released post-launch shows that ONI has been sending in Spartans to basically go Cole Protocol on anything Cortana has ahold of, even on Earth.

I love Blur's cutscenes
I knew the guy that voices Cutter sounded familiar. I never played the first Halo Wars so idk if hes the same VA, but he also did the Crusader in D3 RoS and a whole bunch of other stuff. I've always really liked his voice.
[editline]1st February 2017[/editline]
apparently he voiced Jerome in the first Halo Wars :v: It must be weird to come back and work on a sequel but be playing another character entirely.

you mean Gideon Emery?
It's kinda funny how the whole Cortana situation has basically forced the UNSC to re-enact the Cole protocol as if they're fighting the covenant again despite all the advanced new tech they have.
The advanced tech isn't as cool as it should be. And 'we're smarter than the covenant, because we're human/secular' doesn't mean 'all our tech we bothered to update is way better than the covenant's in every way'
Give me a MAC cannon anyday. I don't care if it's outdated. It's cool. (if they still use MACs, more MACs are necessary)

I wonder if they go back to an older art style, they'll use that as a justification - everything is so integrated with AIs now that to avoid Created incursions they have to use old tech.

Canonically, no.
[IMG_thumb]http://www.halopedia.org/images/a/a9/Infinity_attacked...._by_a_third_time.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Infinity got fucking trashed by a group of insurgents led by Cutter's son Daniel Clayton that took control of a Covenant space station. Glassing cannons are standard on Covenant ships such as Shadow of Intent and sometimes are even able to be aimed independently of the ship's direction. Humanity's sole advantages are due to the Covenant's religious beliefs and the Sangheili honor code preventing any meaningful amount of change in tactics and the craziness that is the post-War black market. Most large ships were destroyed in the Great Schism and the ones that weren't need heavy repairs, went missing or ended up on the black market (and promptly destroyed by ONI). Humanity appears so strong because they're the only race that had their shit together.

MACs are still the most powerful ship-based weapon that the UNSC has, although there are different varieties such as mini-MACs (turret at the end of Reach, also on the Condor) and Super-MACs (Infinity has four of them). The most powerful weapon the UNSC has overall is the NOVA bomb, and it's a damn shame we haven't seen it since Ghosts of Onyx.

Probably not. Infinity and most ships only had one AI because it was all they needed to run operations, and AFAIK AI to be physically transferred to control something (might be wrong). I could definitely see Cortana sending in a Promethean strike to secure access and launch a hack attack though.
They should never have called spartan IV's spartans.
Like go for some cool other name
Corinths/Thebes (I'd go for Trojans when I was 10 but understand you don't want to name your supersoldiers after a balloon brand) ,Knights,Samurai,Cataphracts ,Murmaluks (Murms),Dervishes,Vikings,Immortals, Rajput for warriors.
I imagine ONI should've gone for months on what to call the next spartan project. They're so different that it's hard to believe ONI just went 'yeah, let's call them spartans, the differences won't raise any eyebrows'.

Can you imagine the shit 343 would have caught if they had tried to do that?

But... they are Spartans. The Spartan II's had to have certain genetics in order to accept the augmentations, Halsey chose only the best of the best and even then, half died from their bodies rejecting them. The Spartan III's were created without Halsey because she insisted on only choosing the smartest and strongest available, despite the augmentations becoming far safer. Mendez and Kurt then raised 3 lots of 300 Spartans all of whom survived the augmentations. It's only natural that with further advancements and the Spartan program going public that the UNSC would start using their best soldiers instead of children.
When does the Infinity not get trashsd honestly
Can you imagine the shit 343 would have caught if they had tried to do that?
Not really. You still have surviving spartans.
