Yeah I wouldn't say that the majority of people don't want sprint. I would think most people don't care that much and just want to play the game
waitwaitwait More square footage in a map doesn't make the file bigger
This is why I hate this thread. People love to pretend they know what they're talking about and come out with uninformed nonsense like that. [editline]31st March 2017[/editline]
Are you telling me a 1 squarefoot map has the same filesize as a 1000 square foot map?
Well my 50x50m map in UE4 is defnitely larger in filesize than the whole map for unturned, so yeah, there is really no correlation between map size and file size. [editline]31st March 2017[/editline]
I'd like to say that I don't mind sprint being in the game, but if the majority of people don't like, or want, sprint in Halo then maybe they should listen to that advice once in a while. No saying whether that's actually the case or if it will ever happen.
You see, I don't imagine most people really care about sprint. The thing with issues like this is that the ones that have something to complain about will always seem like a majority, because the ones that don't have anything to complain about don't say anything and don't even know about the discussion that's happening. I've heard many people say things along the lines of "it's good to listen to feedback but if every developer listened to every complaint and suggestion, then their games would be unbalanced garbage."
I actually liked having Sprint on ElDewrito's Valhalla but hey
but surely a bigger map would have a bigger poly count in the end because the mappers won't design their maps with flat walls
not really the way it works. Polycount hardly even changes the filesize. It's textures that do it. But still, an actual map file is mostly an agregator. For instance, all the maps in Halo Online are 333kb, but all they contain (I believe) are BSP geometry and entity placement data/coordinates. Material flags and shit. The actual textures and entity geo are stored somewhere else but they're loaded in according to what's outlined in the map file. This makes it sorta difficult to actually pin down how big a map is in terms of hard drive space because of all the shared assets and shit... but if you want to get technical, they're all exactly the same size if H:O is any indicator of how the file structure continues to work in the modern Halo titles.
I actually liked having Sprint on ElDewrito's Valhalla but hey
I think ElDewrito's walking speed is slower than H3 to compensate for sprint but I'm not entirely sure.

I really wanted to get into eldewrito modding, but after going through the rigmarole of something as simple sounding as replacing the gravity hammer with the golf club, I decided never again.

(Unless you were doing it all in hex for the first time, then fair enough.)
Halo 3 Anniversary just got announced, on April 1st . https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/62sdgz/halo_3_anniversary_officially_announced/ Feels bad man

A while back they had some anniversary playlist in 5 with Halo 1 maps, no sprint, no clamber or jump pack etc etc. It wasn't perfect but I had more fun playing that than what modes we have in 5. Even in the custom game browser I almost exclusively play that mode by joining people or hosting it myself.

The still image of the Ark is from Halo Wars 2 :v:
also that isn't ske7ch its sko7ch
It Begins! https://www.reddit.com/r/HaloOnline/comments/62vqn9/prepare_to_drop/ You had your chance 343.

https://www.reddit.com/r/HaloOnline/comments/62vqn9/prepare_to_drop/ You had your chance 343.
I'm guessing the loading of the intro mission bsp is real, but the loading zones and textures aren't. I also don't think the image is real either; last I saw in terms of progress was texture less walls. Also the whole bit about Win10 is, well...
These maps will be coming to a future ElDewrito update past 0.6, which will be locked to only run on Windows 10. The reasoning behind this is because of Windows 10's game mode, which frees up enough memory and tweaks the collision resource modulation globals in such a way to let the maps work. We hope you will upgrade to Windows 10 and enjoy it, because it is the glorious and bright future of Windows. These maps just simply won't run on any Windows version besides Windows 10. I can't give you a download link, but I can give you a link to upgrade to Microsoft's Windows 10™ for free! You'll need it when these maps come out, and it's the best Windows so far, so upgrade today!
I wandering if anyone can help me out. I'm wondering if anyone knows if i can get models of the Classic Helmets from Halo 5 like the EOD, EVA GEN1, and CQB helmets, if any exist.

I can tell you the map is real, I know one of the people working on it.

However the whole post is technically the joke, because April 1st makes people doubt it's legitimacy, but it's real. Loading zones, textures, the whole shebang.

Still don't get how loading zones just work. It almost seems too good to be true.
So Eric Nylund pinged Bonnie Ross about the previously empty narrative director position, but was apparently too late. This is the guy who made 'The Fall of Reach', 'First Strike' and 'Ghosts of Onyx'. EDIT: This is the narrative director position that Brian Reed left from, not the time when he joined. This only just happened. We still don't know who is the new narrative director, just that it's not Eric Nylund.
Great, now I'm trying to imagine the Halo we would have gotten with him at the wheel and it's making me mad
There's still a chance for us to get Joseph Staten back since he's working at MS right now or was last we knew.
So a picture of Halo 3 era Chief has appeared in an AMD promo video This is not Scorpio related, because that is using Polaris, if I recall correctly, so this is specifically a PC thing. Could this mean H3A is on it's way?
those AMD drivers with halo3.exe finally releasing????????????????
They just used promo art it means nothing
They just used promo art it means nothing
Promo art promoting a 10 year old game? I doubt anything will happen, but you have to admit that is a bit weird since all the other games came out within the last year. Perhaps they meant to use DOOM, but they confused the two space marines :v:
