Today we are excited to officially confirm that Halo 5 will receive a game update to support true 4K with the release of Xbox One X later this year! We’ll have more to share on this front as we get closer to release, so stay tuned.
Interesting.

They're adding a Grunt Leader, excellent.
What of the Reach DLC?
I'm assuming it will include Reach since it says "every Xbox 360 Halo add-on map pack in the Xbox Store will be made available for free..."
https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/halo-summer-celebration
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 are coming to backward compatibility and all of their map packs will be made free.
Best Halo news in a very long time.
RIP MCC
Who's to say that once Original Xbox backwards compatibility is released, that Halo CE and 2 might get the same compatibility treatment?
Anyone still play Halo 5 PC? I ended up uninstalling H5 from my XBone and playing customs on PC. I wish there were more people playing.
Got bored, injected bsp_040 from voi into Sandbox. (The area where you battle a scarab for the first time)
The large wrecked tanker has been removed for more room, now to populate it with spawns, scripts and even an AI version maybe.

Going with the name ThunderDome for now. (Someone is going to scream "OHH MAW GAWD THE SUN AND SHADOWS DONT MATCH", yes I know.)
Is this in ElDewrito, or what?
Is this in ElDewrito, or what?
Original Halo 3 on Xbox 360. Fixed the lighting and added team spawn points, placing vehicles atm. In the middle of testing a script that adds 6 weapon pods to a pelican. They drop by pressing the scoreboard button (Back, in case of Xbox360). Cant find anyone to network test it with. :(
I only just figured out manual script editing, just like game cheat did a few years ago. (never had the time / effort to look into it)

Unless you want to play Halo 2 and hate PCs, want to play a remade version of H2MP, or care a lot about the graphics there's not really a reason to buy it anymore, is there? And Halo 2's likely to be coming to Xbone backwards compatibility when that starts happening, so that first point'll probably get nullified outside of multiplayer.
Would be nice if they turned it into a Play Anywhere game to make its existence suddenly really meaningful and help grow the Windows Store, but I can't see that happening, based on big man Phil Spencer's official statement on Halo 5 and PC.

I wasn't sure anyone played H5 on PC. Last time I checked there was just one game on the Minotaur map and I played around a bit in that before deciding to just go back to H:O or H:CE for PC shenanigans

Does this includes Reach DLC? Will I finally be able to get those unattainable achievements?
Does this includes Reach DLC? Will I finally be able to get those unattainable achievements?
Assuming people will actually download the DLC, yeah. It would also help if 343 wasn't a dick back in 2012 by removing the DLC playlists.
Can people with the xbone version of Reach play multiplayer with the 360 version of reach? Or is it limited to the xbone only?
Can people with the xbone version of Reach play multiplayer with the 360 version of reach? Or is it limited to the xbone only?
Fairly certain there's no way for Xbox Live to tell a 360 client from an XB1 client in-game, so I don't think so.

Yes

It's the one that the Prophet of Truth has, except the Halo ring is replaced with the Ark.

Man, Halo 2 shields are stupidly low, and even worse, you can't tell how much health you have. A big part on why I decided to play the game on legendary instead of heroic is that both are stupid hard, but you get bragging rights for beating legendary.
Got a new capture card. :)

Never knew Halo 3's water was actually a mesh. Neat.
I remember being so impressed that the water actually carried my body and guns down stream. It's still not something I see often in games but it's such an immersive touch

Bit of new info on the Halo Wars 2 ODST DLC

Most of the art shown off in this Canon Fodder is pretty good. The new ice-stuff Serina commands is goofy as hell, though.

With any luck Spearbreaker will feel gritty and moody like ODST did. I'm not too experienced with squad-based RTS games, since the two missions will be based on smaller and maybe more tactical encounters, could the missions be longer than the base game's?
Most starships in the Halo Universe start big and work their way up from there to gargantuan. But what about the “little” ships that are less than a kilometer in length and not fitted with the firepower to boil a planet? These auxiliaries are beneath the notice of fleet commanders in our novels and too small to easily represent in Halo: Fleet Battles, but their missions are just as vital as vessels that far outstrip them in tonnage. Halo: Warfleet gave us the opportunity to detail some of these workhorse ships, but after Isaac Hannaford was brought on board the question was then “Which ones get visualized?” We eventually settled on these being in a two-page spread showing an action scene between a human Gladius-class corvette and Covenant light warship (exactly which one was to be determined later). Though small and strategically inconsequential compared to the heavy-hitters of naval armadas, these are still warships measuring hundreds of meters in length and massing tens of thousands of metric tons, so we were anxious that they would retain the impressive features Halo ships are famous for!!
The first pass from Isaac nailed the Covenant and UNSC aesthetic we wanted to show in these ships. The only changes we requested were to ensure that you could more readily see the ships’ surface features for the text callouts. The Covenant ships he created were new, but also clearly of the same design lineage as those that have come before (not surprising, given Isaac’s experience as a Halo visionary). It was also clear after seeing his art which blade of the Covenant this new ship was meant to be: the aptly-named storm cutters (DAS-class). As these ships had little written down in terms of technical details at the time, the Isaac reference renders (such as the one shown here) and notes were used to determine the dimensions—and from that we derived more specific crew, mass, and final armament to update those originally sourced from the Halo Story Bible.
Isaac’s amazing final image in Halo: Warfleet captures a deadly encounter between the Sagan Blue (FS-803) and the twin Kig-Yar-helmed storm cutters Mark of Prophecy and Divine Breath, who were engaged in piracy and smuggling near New Carthage in 2554. In a book chock-full of amazing visuals I think you’ll agree with me that it will become one of your favorite art pieces. And, of course, the technical details and background information is pretty awesome too, if I say so myself!
Reassuring that Hannaford is doing a fair amount of the visuals for Warfleet.
I did a thing.

While its not a custom BSP or custom nav data/zones/firing points. Its better than nothing. Skip to the end to see the AI making their way down from the platform.
Heres a bonus.

You should try that for Halo Online/ElDewrito
You should try that for Halo Online/ElDewrito
Weirdly enough it could be possible to port over the navigation data and the area zone/firing positions and hints.
Would need a matching BSP though. Don't know enough about the specifics of the HO engine to do it.
