The Ark is clearly visible in some scenes, and I find it difficult to imagine CA or 343 would make a prequel set around the Ark during the Covenant War. But I'm probably reading way too far into what was likely just placeholder concepts. The ship "Ventura" that's the main focus of the final art pieces would have been a pretty interesting way of handling the base mechanics, so it's a shame we'll probably never see it.
Damn that looks really cool. Let's hope these concepts get reused in later pitches.
It's hard to tell. It sold 150,000 units in its first week according to a few websites, same as Halo Wars 1 did. However, it didn't make it into top ten most sold games of February and made it only to #6 on the Xbox charts. Brad Wright has since taken down the art despite having authorization to publish it, so maybe the concept is going to be reused at some point, or maybe MS realized that it showed Halo wasn't doing as well as it used to.

Testing eldewrito 0.5 on my gtx 1070 build and...it runs worse than my 770 comp. I get random framedrops regardless of settings. I'm gonna be pissed if i can't play 0.6 because of this

Well, Halo 5 didn't sell that well and got mostly negative feedback from people. The story is farked and a lot of people play halo for it's campaign. I wouldn't be suprised if we hear nothing from them next year, because as much as h5 made, I imagine it's incredible budget was a real dead-weight. I think if we genuinely had a reach/3 custom edition, halo 6 just wouldn't sell. Nobody has trust in 343, and if they had a competitor that out-halo'd them, they'd just be in shit. Halo is a real expensive franchise. I think the banished is a cool faction and, if it weren't for two legged walkers not belonging in the Halo franchise, and maybe some -I'm not sure the arc should've survived- thinking, I reckon they would make sound additions to the bungie's halo universe (The Railgun's a fun weapon too) but other than that, 343 have some kind've shit-themed Midas touch. HW2 sold poorly and so it's additions don't really redeem halo. The fact is that about nobody's looking forward to 6, so it's a big, risky expense.
Given the circumstances, Halo 5 sold pretty well after the disaster that was Halo 4's post-launch reception and MCC. IIRC it's behind only Halo 3 in terms of player retention, and the post-launch support made as much revenue as the map packs used to. Halo Wars 2 marked a turning point for 343, it established that going back to the roots will generate positive buzz for Halo but that they've soiled the franchise. That's why we're seeing things like backwards compatibility for the original titles, MCC getting fixed, past writers returning (Tobias Buckell, possibly Joseph Staten if rumors are true), community outreach and Halo 6's long development cycle: because they can't afford to fuck this up and they need to rebuild trust. Fixing MCC goes a long way to do that, even if it's four years late. At the very least, 343 is actually trying now. But the damage has been done, and I don't think they'll succeed.
Anyone else read Halo Warfleet? I was kinda dissapointed that the Covenant CSO Supercarrier wasn't in it (unless i missed it). For those of you who don't know it's the ship they blow up in Halo Reach. Is that ship not canon or something? I mean that book had some stuff that i've never seen or heard before and it was cool, but i also missed some other stuff from it like the UNSC Hopeful or the UNSC Cradle
I can't see why it wouldn't be.

And as far as I know. The only shown model for it is just a CSS upscaled.

They included the Mantle's approach in it which is: 142.7 kilometers long 138.6 kilometers wide 371.4 kilometers tall

Theres proper frame limiting in 0.6 which should fix the frame timing. Hopefully mitigating this problem for everyone.
For some odd reason i set fullscreen to 1 in game.cfg and now it runs constant 60, even though it's the same borderless windowed mode as before
I really do hope that the MCC updates 343 are doing for the XBX helps even just a little with things. I was kinda feeling the urge to play the game so I booted it up. The first match in Halo 1 was pretty fine outside of some spawnkilling, but then this is my next game: [img]https://my.mixtape.moe/cwdyac.jpg[/img] I remember this being an issue a long time ago too and things like these are small but just annoying enough to not want to bother. If they can at least iron out issues like that, I'd be kinda happy to just play MCC again.
