This may be an unpopular opinion but SPV3 and the other modpacks before it just look plain ugly to me. It's got the aesthetic of an ameteur trying really hard to make something look good and going about it in the completely wrong way.
Now I'm not saying that that what they've done isn't impressive. it just lacks any sort of cohesion. They've done some genuinely impressive things with that dinosaur of a game but they don't seem to have really worked within it's limits and they've ended up pushing it way too far and overdoing it - kinda like what a lot of delevopers did when bump mapping became a thing (including Halo 2, christ everything had to have a high intensity bump map in that game)

Of course I can't speak for the story or level design, but honestly I don't see why the campaing needed butchering so much. I mean sure the level where you meet Guilty Spark and the flood sucks but the rest of the game didn't really need touching. It just seems sort of self righteous that someone would come out and say "I made the game better" when it didn't really need it.
See, I really think halo 1's great so I get what you're saying there, halo 2 has a really good story so it's heretical to change anything about that, but I think you could change the gunplay up and the weapons available for the better. 3 is... I think you could probably mess with the story there, so long as you keep the arc and everything arby and truth says.
Legendary is, in hindsight, a pile of shit. I hate the way that halo does legendary (even if I've finished all the games on it) because the game just becomes way more hid'n shoot/shield recharge
Reach is fair fucking game. Reach's story was dog, few people liked the characters, and the game had plenty of things that just made it worse.
The abilities weren't tested enough. Hence frustrations with armour lock and concern about sprint. 4 did the shield better, and the equipment of 3 were better recieved (fuck flare tho)
The focus rifle is useless, annoying, and a weapon design nobody'd reasonably come up with. Maybe in lore it's an awesome weapon, but in gameplay it's a piece of shit.
The brutes were the wrong size, having failed to be scaled up with everything else. They also lost a lot of variety that'd be good to mod back in.
ODST didn't have the full sealled suit, they were marines with different helmets/shoulders.
Marines had weird pauldrons
Needle rifle's cool I guess, but I really wanted to see the carbine in it's engine.
No hornet.
characters suggested we'd get insurrectionists, never got insurrectionists. Would've been cool to do so.
So, I don't really wanna go into odst (it could do with a few more weapons and more incentive to explore at night) but reach really could be a game that people could latch on and go "I can make this better"
I really never got why people enjoyed legendary. Halo on heroic is fun, legendary is just annoying. I like a challenge but not the way that difficulty does it.
That being said, I also don't like the copy pasted environments and backtracking in CE - I actually prefer Halo 2's campaign because everything is well varied, the story is interesting and I don't feel like I'm walking through the same rooms over and over
Hhowever, with SPV3, the more I play the more I don't agree with the changes. It extends levels I don't want extended (more samey pillar of autumn intro, yay), and I haven't really liked the new music at all.
I would have been all for changing CE's campaign with more varied set pieces and areas that are distinct - but it seems they went for "add more" approach instead.
SPV3: T&R and TSC:E were good individual releases - they were consistent, well balanced, and visually appealing. T&R used darkness to hide ugly things about Halo, while TSC:E redesigned the whole map around their new textures and with more detail to make up for it.
SPV3 on the other hand just feels like a mishmash of unfitting visuals slapped together, at least if pillar of autumn and halo are levels to go by.
Judging from videos it seems to get better, but right now I'm having trouble remaining interested.
i don't like spv3 that much, but thank god for showing us chimera, HALO AT 76HZ BAYBEEEEEEEEEE fuck you MCC no longer the superior H1 experience (unless you wanna play with a controller)

Chimera trys to fix controller too, not sure how well. Hell netcode too, but i have no clue how to set that up
To me, Legandary was the difficulty you played if you had a buddy who would be perfectly willing to stay up all night eating junk food just to finish one level.
Fuck doing legendary solo. You gotta do it splitscreen with a friend.
to be quite honest Halo CE legendary is perfectly doable solo, in fact its the only difficulty I play nowadays
the other games though, heroic is preferable
The only that that's a bit of a challenge is Halo 2's legendary
The best thing about Legendary is when you finally go back to Heroic it feels like Easy and anything below that feels like enemies don't even exist
The only that that's a bit of a challenge is Halo 2's legendary
7 shots to die. 7 fucking shots
an Elite fires much more than 7 on Legendary

Sounds like someone's bad
I wish 343 would quit messing around with the Cortana already. For those that don't know, [sp]it was more or less confirmed recently that Cortana is still suffering from the logic plague and is unknowingly carrying out the Flood's will. So she's basically a worse Sarah Kerrigan at this point.[/sp]
It would be better if they just dropped her out of the plot as much as they can at this point, because no amount of retcons or changes are going to justify it or make anyone forget how fucking retarded it was. She can still lead the Created or whatever, just... don't make her actually appear, never involve her directly, and get this godawful trainwreck of a plotline out of the way so something actually interesting, like the San'Shyuum or Insurgency plotlines can actually be relevant for once.
I really hate the way halo does difficulty
Easy- Appropriate for someone who's never held a controller before.
Normal-Easy
Heroic-Some degree of challenge.
Legendary- It's now a cover shooter where you and a buddy abuse respawns. And if you wanna do it solo, I hope you have a lot of patience.
Mythic/Leg with skulls- Who plays games for fun?
Well, I could compare it to say, half life, where I don't really notice the difference in difficulty much, but I think I'd really appreciate it if legendary was just heroic with AI that would ruthlessly exploit every mistake you made, with some extra grenade skill or trap usage for those moment-moment plays, but otherwise everything has the same health/shields/damage, maybe marine allies would die quicker.
Of course, that's way harder to do than just upping the damage/health, but there are five halo games (not including custom edition) so you think they would've worked something out.
where was that confirmed? I mean, it makes sense but [sp]bringing the flood back already is just gonna result in a convoluted plot again[/sp]

As usual... a loot crate. The crate before this one, IIRC, implied that she murdered Infinity's original AI as the ship crashed into Requiem. [sp]The Flood returning, even if Cortana has nothing to do with it, is going to be undercooked at this point. Every faction is utterly fucked at the moment and the galaxy isn't close to being prepared for a Flood invasion, let alone another plot derailment on that scale.[/sp]

Holy fucking shit that's so lazy.
Maybe they'd have been better off and pulled an SG1 and just threw a new, more powerful than the covenant enemy, and humans and their former enemies would have to band together to fight them.
Lazy as fuck, but thematically way better than the shitslog we have now.
That's exactly what the Created are though. Even so, introducing a ~new threat~ still distracts from things that have been built up for years, like the Insurgency and San'Shyuum.

That kind of makes sense though. [sp]The floor are Precursors, and they decided who was worthy of the Mantle. She says that humans aren't worthy of it in H5, and only Created are, so perhaps the Precursors are trying to again create a race worthy of the mantle?[/sp]
Do we currently have any way to play Halo 5 Forge PC in two instances to do split screen or anything like that?
Jeremy Cook, Art Director of Halo Wars 2 has updated both his Twitter and Artstation bio to Art Director | 343 Industries.
Hopefully this means something good?
Honestly I kinda like that we've clarified the 343 universe as an unwavering pile of shit. If halo 6 is good enough to justify 4/5 and the recliamer cycle as a whole, it isn't a good thing. I'd rather they shit something out so that the next project can totally ignore the existence of 4/5/6. fuck, they could awake master chief from cryo all over again and I'd think it's the next best thing.

God if we got a new halo with 3's artstyle with current tech that alone would make me want to play it

Holy wow Evolutions is good
How is project lumoria? 60 fps has gotten me re-interested in playing custom halo CE stuff.
Also are there any other custom campaigns for CE that aren't just campaign changes?

It's a pretty fun short campaign. Nothing exactly new in terms of game play, but what it does bring is polished.
I think there have been some other campaign mods in development, but none are super finished. Heretic Hunt comes to mind.

60 FPS really makes halo feel like a new game
eh, still looks like halo ce to me
I mean when playing it. Maybe it's because I've never really been a halo player on xbox but the 30fps on pc put me off from playing ce stuff
Edit: update time
