The waypoint forums are fucking rich right now. They're literally censoring anyone from even talking about Halo Online or Eldewrito and outright banning people for doing so. They must really realize how much microsoft's decision is pissing people off and instead of trying understand where the fans are coming from they're just gonna mute everybody.
Well I'm depressed. Basically any "official" halo we get on PC is gonna be super modern and "hip with the kids". I liked eldewrito because it's not trying to fit today's trends like a video game company is.
I hope enough people are pissed off that this becomes a big deal in video game news, enough to cause controversy. Maybe show some people how important this is.
Was the first Halo I've touched in years and was really enjoying it too. We'll still be able to play this version of the game I hope at least?

Those maps made exclusively for Halo Online would be going to waste otherwise.

Not forcing the team to shut down yet, but they are in talks with 343, not a legal team at 343, but actual 343. Time will tell. I did remove the full game downloads in case of a DMCA for builds of HO ms23 being included, since Reddit is bad at going "remove that" and might just delete the subreddit.
See, this is why I downloaded 0.6 as soon as it came out and tried to play as much as possible. I figured Microsoft would do something eventually.
I've got a copy of the full game download, however, but I want to be absolutely clear that I have no plans to host it on my dedicated server and share it with anyone who wants it. Definitely not as soon as I get home from work.
It sucks to say this, nothing official; but its not looking to good. And you did not hear this from me.
If the problem is with the ms23 files then just remove any links and tell people they'll have to find those on their own? I remember other mods that ran into the same problem (such as ProjectM for Super Smash Brothers Brawl) got around copyright issues just fine.
Looks like its a little bit more than that, don't stream the mod or you will be DMCA'd.

ED Isn't going anywhere, we already have a perfectly good 0.6, we just wont see any more updates in the worst case scenario.
AFAIK, they were only asked to remove all links to Microsoft-owned content, which would mean Halo Online itself, as ElDewrito is just an open-source mod. ED itself could be just fine, new players would just have to get the Halo Online files through other means, unless Microsoft is willing to throw us a bone and releases Halo Online files internationally as-is through the Windows Store or what have you. Who knows how this goes, though.

It seem to be a visual bug. I noticed changing it, starting a new round/restarting the map fixes that

Downloaded the build and messed with it a bit, can't actually play yet, but the new menu is implemented already. Feels nice. Customization and everything is still the same, but that can still come later.

I hate the fact that every time something about Halo 3 on PC shows up they just give us the tired old "Hey man that's great but sorry . Maybe we'll do it in the future though so don't start hating us just yet!" even though they haven't done jack shit with it for over 10 years now.
