So at least we'll be able to look like super models. And as an added bonus, with all the plastic surgery and botox super models often get, be just as expressive

drack actually looks pretty well animated compared to everyone else. or maybe everyone is just animated like muppets so the humans look weird and the krogans don't.
even then sometimes i see him pivoting on his axis like he's floating in other promo things so i dunno shit
There are currently no plans for alternate outfit dlc.

This is honestly surprising. You would think EA would want as much dlc planned(and ready for day one) as possible.
You know why? Because this is a litmus test for continuing this series and BioWare allowing politics to run their company. This title fails to deliver and you will distinctly see "strategic repositioning" on a rather large scale. As a publisher it is much easier to clean house by letting you hang yourself with your own rope, then there's no fall back arguments on procedural issues like there was with Dead Space.
time
is not an excuse. While animation is never in layer one or even layer two depending on how much you're outsourcing and contracting, it's never an "endgame" feature because it literally defines your level of both interaction and player agency. Literally. Factually.
Dragon's Dogma was done by 6 people. 6 people did all the animations in that game for the ps3's memory limitations, BioWare has had four years to get this right. Time is not an excuse you can leverage. If you're having just perfect everyone loves it polish problems at four years, that is a thing. If you're having basic bone and vertex alignment issues three weeks before launch, that is incompetence. There's no way to sugar coat it, and the fact that there are virtually no problems with mechanical enemies, and the same problems that were present in Omega's humanoid animations are equally present in AndDramaDuh. That is a consistent issue with very clear fixes and problems and the problem isn't the "new engine" or "console limitations".
When you can't even get the orientation on which weapon bone merges with which hand bone, you need to go back to day one and learn you some shit.
Watching a stream of the beginning, it looks really cool so far.

The presets look mostly terrible, but at least it looks like you can make some decent characters with it.
Lots and lots of questions answered

God how do you downgrade character customization.

Looks very similar to Dragon Age Inquistions customizer, but somehow the characters look worse.

people are making some pretty decent looking Ryders
so have vetra's romance stuff been confirmed yet either way? this is very important information

I like this a lot. It's no Uncharted Worlds, but it's good stuff.
The Mass Effect 3 [sp]synthesis[/sp] ending was my favorite the first time I completed the game, but in the following runs (or better said, run, as in, just one more) it became my least favorite due to the horrible moral implications (chief among them the implied message [sp] "if two factions can't seem to reach a peaceful solution, the best course of action is to forcefully alter the genetic structure of their members so they can stop fighting forever"[/sp]. As someone looking for a job in the law system, this is against everything I stand for).
I favor the [sp]control[/sp] ending only because the [sp]destruction[/sp] one is a serious moment of stupid evil, in a series that managed to avert it up to that point
I like Male Ryder's voice as much as Shepard's.

Looks good imo.
I like that they let you add some more out there scars, hair colours, tattoos and warpaints to your character. It always bugs me when some games have really basic character customisation, and then make all the supporting characters really gimmicky snowflakes, so your personally tailored protagonist manages to look like the blandest person in the room at all times despite being the legendary main character.
Those presets look pretty awful but Ive worked with worse, Dragon age inquisition had some fucking bizarre looking preset faces for elves and I still ultimately created a dude I was happy with.

I'm glad there's one part of this game I can say I'm genuinely excited for without needing to include an ever-growing list of caveats.

I actually favor it since I have so little faith in humanity that the right of self determination equals the freedom to completely disregard anything humane and just care about the lowly interests one has

Synthesis is the most well crafted of the three, but yeah, it's morally the worst.
imagine the synthesis ending happening, and your computer just starts sprouting meat parts while you browse reaper porn in your spaceship

I favor control too, in that I imagine my Shepard Reaper Fleet becoming a mostly hands-off galactic peacekeeper. That said, it is a huge fucking gamble and leap of faith if you don't know how legit the option is. I mean, this is the solution favored by the fucking Illusive Man, indoctrinated idiot that he was. Worst case scenario, Shepard is just vaporized, the starchild laughs, and the reaping continues, or it could just be absolute power corrupts absolutely/the copy of Shepard that's controlling the reapers turns bad or is otherwise defective. Honestly going for destruction is the safer bet, even if it too just turns out to be a trick. With so much of the game's Paragon choices just coming down to hoping everything turned out okay anyway, though, I puckered my butthole and turned blue.

The most morally wrong thing about synthesis is that husks seem to gain sentience, or it can be the most intriguing if you're like me and want to romance a praetorian.

why does [sp]the mountain dew wave suddenly solve the conflict? If I was a Reaper, and they made me part organic, I'd want to kill them all for making me "imperfect." Also, why does Shepard have to die? Why can't some blood work?[/sp]

During Mass Effect 2 I got romanced by Praetorians all the time, in the measure that they kept fucking me in the ass

I gotta say that this looks very good, I love the change how all players share the xp now. Takes away the urges to rush ahead and risk your life to get a better chance at getting the most kills possible.
