Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

I still can't forgive them for [sp]killing the Exile[/sp]

Or the fact that [sp]t3 is killed with a literal hand wave, and no one cares[/sp].
Fortunately, we ignore the book.

I like to imagine [sp]Revan went batshit crazy upon discovering his identity, took the Star Forge, leveled Coruscant, and then went to fight the Emperor. The Exile went after him, got turned, and the two of them fucked up the empire and ruled the galaxy[/sp]. It's my head-canon and I'm sticking to it god dammit!

Huzzah for head-canon?

Chapter III of Collected Fates is up, lads.
I made a trailer for the Omega DLC.

Thanks for reminding me to get that, even if it was mediocre.
I am now at the stage that is trying to finish mass effect 2 as quickly as possible so i can play mass effect 3 again. During the wait i must have played 1 and 2 10 times each and now i have no saves for either of them.
I've played through 2 waaaaaaaaay too many times. And all the playthroughs are just about the same, for some odd reason.
Aye. Last I checked I was running through my 18th playthrough with the exact same Shepard in the exact same way.
I have 5 in progress saves and not a single fucking femshep? Shit i want to dance with Garrus.
Every fucking time I want to make FemShep and romance Garrus, but always can't because after picking up Liara I remember that she's the only one who can be fucked 3 times.
You could just ignore her.
If you go no-romance Femshep and have From Ashes and Citadel installed, [sp]throw a wild party and you'll sleep with Javik. He tells her, "I guess there are some things primitives are good at."[/sp] I'm kinda tempted to try that with my current run.
I will create a Femshep just for that.

Drunk Javik is the best Javik anyway.
"KNEEL BEFORE JAVIK!"
I'm no longer pissed off about ME3's ending. It's old news, there's nothing we can do about it, so I have no reason to rant. It's been an un-changable factor for over a year now.
What I still AM pissed off about however, is how impossible it makes it for there to be another game that's not a PREQUEL. I mean, If they tried, they would have to choose a cannon ending out of the 3, because you can't play off everybody in the galaxy turning green in the case of synthesis, or the geth just convenientyl not making an appearance in the case of a destroy one. So they can't make it lean toward any given ending, as the most neutral one is control.
So basically, I suppose when bioware asked fans if they wanted a prequel or sequel, it was a completely retorical question, unless they want ME3 endings to lose connonical value.
just replayed through the series and wow I honestly liked the control ending with extended cut. it surprised me how much I did like it.
I think they could set the next games within either the gap, or at the same time as Shepard's story.
The gap idea is probably what they'll do if they don't choose a sequel or prequel, because the gap doesn't have to worry about ME3 continuity.
A same-time frame story is similar to the idea of the gap, but the big problem is that everything would probably end up being a rehash.
On the topic of the sequel games, they could hand-wave away the end continuity by not using the Reapers except in passing reference that "they're gone," perhaps even having some people say that they believe that they might still be out there. The Geth being destroyed could be somewhat ignored by having a Geth-like species of robots based out from the Geth in terms of construction, despite the Geth being dead (even if they weren't wiped out, perhaps it could be said that they only had a lifespan of x amount of years and the new Geth were a replacement created by a new species who saw learned of their plight- which could also be true in the case of their destruction). Synthesis could just be ignored entirely since the idea that DNA is a mixture of synthetic and organic material would probably be common knowledge.
If they go through with a sequel, it's more of a case of careful writing which might just piss of some fans, but lets face it, Mac Walters and Casey Hudson wrote the universe into a corner.

Control was cool in some aspects, but I didn't like how the Husks still existed in a hive mind way, the Reapers got away with that, and that Shepard wasn't quite Shepard (I expected him to be himself in a Reaper, but instead we got a Reaper who talked like Shepard, which in of itself is excusable to keep it balanced in the Paragon/Renegade sense).
oh god. WHY is me1 so slow to start!?
oh god. WHY is me1 so slow to start!?
Because story time.
Because story time.
But it's not really story. Man. if i could just skip all that shit and get to kicking ass and making choices. Why do i have to spend 3-4 hours jerking off at the citadel?

Bioware wants to rub alien supremacy in the player's (in this case, your) face?
I don't know, I'm taking potshots.

This and the load times combined are the reason why I'll likely never play through ME1 again even though it's my favorite in the series.

The whole intro before you get normandy and the noveria/feros missions are serious gamekillers. They're stalling the game so hard even the side-quests are starting to suffer under road rage.
I enjoy playing through ME1 every now and again. Prior to the release of ME3, I played through the seires so I could get as close to my original playthrough as possible. Almost 100% ME1, bro it up with Garrus in ME2.
Continue to chill with Garrus through ME3, and have an aneurysm out of sheer happiness when finally playing through the swan song that was Citadel.
ME1 always gives me chills when I play it. I have fond memories of the very first time I played it, and it surprised me so much. A gem in a swarm of bad console launch titles. But, whenever I hear Vigil playing, I feel both happy and extremely sad.
Me1's last 2/3rds is seriously good. It kept me at the edge of my seat in the same way that ME2 did. I've actually yet to play Me3 because for some reason i can't get my ass past the first parts of ME1.
I'm very well aware of the ME3 ending and i'm very disappointed. I still want to play through it. As bad as it is, it won't ruin the journey.
