We've been plenty critical of the game here, we're just not overblowing it like the retards on /v/ who obsess over a few animations and wank off to Crowbcat videos. Andromeda has great gameplay. The facial animations leave a lot to be desired, but most of the voice acting is solid. The story isn't amazing in the small amount you can play in the trial but it isn't bad either. If anyone is on the fence, and I don't blame them, they should wait for the game to come out and look at as many reviews as they can. Not just have faith it'll be good, or listen to dicks like you who shit on it constantly.

Having only played the multiplayer of ME:A I doubt I'll be buying it anytime soon, the gameplay is just mediocre.

People automatically jumped on the bandwagon of them being an "ancient evil" or some shit. Hell I even commented about this back in November. Second trailer was just about presenting the Kett as straight up evil.

And those screenshots look amazing.[/QUOTE] It is understandable, the internet is absolutely saturated with things pointing out the flaws in the game, especially the flaws in the marketing since the entire marketing team fucked up big time. I felt the same way as you did, but I gave the trial a try and after 10 hours I am looking forward to getting to continue the game, it still holds some flaws but it is definitely not a bad game. The gifs and clips you see plastered around the internet are (in my experience) just cherrypicking some of the worst bugs in the game. The game is not perfect and has it flaws, but most of the clips I've seen were much worse than I experienced during my own gameplay. Also I do agree, we need more screenshots that show the beauty of the game. Unfortunately my own screen capture programs were seemingly not responsive during the trial and I lost all of my footage.

I hate to insist on the same topic, but really, at this point female Ryder twin (not just the default one) is [I]really[/I] starting to [I]unsettle me[/I], with that whole big fucking face, her perpetual smiling and the utterly [I]demonic[/I] ways she can twist her facial features during conversations

I feel really sorry for the animators. Like... something went really wrong here. Maybe they were really rushed, or understaffed, or it might have even just been that they weren't particularly good and had noone overseeing what they were working on right, but I can't imagine they're feeling particularly great about all this either.

I bet she looks hella weird because they never bothered to give her adapted animations- they probably recycled male Ryder's.

default ryder looks like ass whereas my ryder looks pretty good in cutscenes with the exception of looking like she's perpetually pouting or duckfacing

The budget for this game was probably just blown on hiring that Game of Throne's Actress really.

You know what really pisses me off about Andromeda? Not all this animation stuff because that's honestly kinda funny. It's the fact that the early marketing misled the hell out of me. What I got from this trailer was that this was going to be a sorta Wild-West frontier plot (the music affirms this). I was expecting this game to be about a lone ship crew in a hostile new galaxy, but instead we got a million beings being shipped over from the old galaxy in huge ass space stations and there already being colonies/trading outposts on some of the planets. This doesn't make it feel alien at all, in fact it takes away a bunch of the tension that comes from the Frontier. It's like if they packed up NYC and shipped it to Oregon during the colonization of Western America. Like there's so many ways they could've made this work, such as there being some Stargate or something located in our galaxy and a lone crew has to make the voyage to Andromeda in order to find the other gate and turn it on or whatever. That's the thing that makes me really angry, the lost potential. If this was from the start just "another Mass Effect game" I wouldn't be angry about it being shit. But the fact that the initial promise was so promising is what makes me miffed. They had such a good thing going for them but then they abandoned it.

so i started playing through me1, im liking the lore and universe. i had only gotten up to the citadel before, restarted as an angry femshep. Are the DLCs worth downloading for ME1?

After seeing more gameplay from normal people I've had to cancel my pre-order. I was so excited for this game but it's so obviously rushed and wasn't ready for release. the gameplay is what's sold me on the game it's the cutscenes and conversations and the rest of the stuff that is supposed to be Mass Effect that they've dropped the ball on that I'm most hurt by

Because oddly enough, the facial animations are so much better on custom Ryders. I don't understand who approved of this.
