Gil and Suvi are definitely contenders for the worst characters on the ship. Gil literally tells you his personality and informs you that he will reveal more about himself as you continue talking. Also, I really wish they'd stop using the "cute" awkward nerdy girl trope. Liara, Tali, Traynor, Merrill (from Dragon Age 2), now Suvi. It just brings out how bad their romantic writing really is.

They were literally aliens, Liara being basically 12 year old and Tali not being sure if anything even [i]can[/i] work out physiologically. These characters, on the other hand... like, I'll call it what it is, its fanfic-tier writing from people who probably didn't write anything but fanfics before working at Bioware. They thought that the scene would be funny - and here it is, complete with a meme.

Maybe she just isn't good at expressing herself.

So yeah... Long story short, coming out the trial, I have some problems but my thoughts are mostly positive and will end up buying it. I feel like one of the seven people in the world that thinks this, but oh well...

Most people that played it had more positives than negatives to report. People who just watched videos or funny gifs around the internet are the ones bashing it as a failure. who would have guessed?

'more positives than negatives' isn't exactly the glowing recommendation most people look for in a AAA full price release from an experienced company regardless of how good the gameplay it is the animation errors, the writing, and the va I've seen show a pretty lackadaisical take on quality control - and considering the game section of the game isn't what I'm interested in any more, seeing the side that does interest me be presented so badly is a huge turn-off

The animations are trash, sure, but the writing was pretty inoffensive IMO. A few questionable lines here and there, but overall good. As for the VA, I think the only really questionable people I heard were Tann and Kesh.

After playing the multiplayer I'm really concerned about its longevity. From sound issues to a wide variety of connection issues, not to mention performance issues (which could be fixed to some extent with video drivers) I'm concerned that people will give the MP a shot then give up. Seemly shitty netcode combined with p2p connections means that the game only has a short time before people give up on the MP entirely which will have a snowball effect of people having worse experiences due to shittier connections. If this trial is the finished product then I feel the MP will be dead on arrival.

As sad a state of affairs it is, that's pretty much the average outcome you can hope for with many modern AAA titles. Great graphics except for a couple of odd things here in there; some terrible-terrible shit; mostly okay-ish but nothing to write home about; a couple of very good things; day 1 patch but still barely works on release for many people. That's pretty common.

I just posted my weeks hard work fan trailer on mass effects reddit with the title "Tried to make a trailer that might tempt people over who are undecided", harmless enough right? I was hoping for a few uplikes and a comment No it got removed by the mods, don't you dare self-promote! Our game is doing fine as it is! I played Mass effect 3 from begining to end on my Xbone, with 0 issues. Now when I try to start it up and play some multiplayer, I get nothing but black screen. ???

Honestly, bugs like that I'm totally fine with. Is it GOOD that it's in the game? No. But it's funny.

I don't mind funny bugs as long as they don't seriously impact gameplay. It definitely should be fixed but if I get a bug like that when I play it I'm gonna laugh rather than get angry.
