• Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

Man, this thread has certainly slowed down eh? Thinking of giving the series another proper runthrough, now that it's been a year and a half since Mass Effect 3 and (barring the DLC) I haven't really done much with the series since then. Feels like by now enough time has passed that the series might be truly engrossing again. As it stands, my feelings on each entry is 9.0 for ME1, 9.5 for ME2, and 8.0 for ME3; I'm curious if that will change after running through the series after so long.
I remember the good old days when this thread had at least 100 new posts every time I returned. I'll guess that the series will still end up pretty engrossing as a trilogy playthrough.

I'm surprised hw not horrible it is. I follow a few Bioware themed things, and it's pretty nice.[/sp]
I hate that reaper on Rannoch. How am I supposed to not get filled by that laser when it gets in close at the end? Edit: Never mind, just did it. Seems like it was just random chance.

On a scale of 1 to deviantArt, how strange are they?
Surprisingly okay, although like any tumblr community, they're irritatingly prone to hyperbole. They're not even close to deviantArt's creepiness though. I used an embarrassed emote because I'm usually loathe to indulge my obsession publicly

I persoanlly only follow afew people, don't really get in to discussions and such, and never see anything out of the ordinary. The occasional burst of somebody saying that Garrus is xyz, but that's about it. [sp]But I agree with Garrus being xyz so woooo.[/sp] The first person I followed involving Bioware was a [sp]fanfiction writer[/sp] called [sp]tarysande.[/sp]
¬_¬ What a coincidence...
I just bought ME3 and for some reason, my saves from ME1 and ME2 are gone so I'm unable to port my save over. I'm really frustrated right now. According to this link there are lots of things which the save remembers. Like who I've romanced, if I saved the rachni queen, what I did to the council etc etc. When I create a new character now in ME3 I'm only allowed to choose my class, how I joined the alliance, why I'm known and if Kaiden or Ashley died back on ME1. It feels like a lot of my decisions are gone. Does the decisions I made in ME1 and ME2 make any role in ME3?

If I were you, I'd look over at http://www.masseffect2saves.com/ and try and find a save closets to the choices that you made.
That site saved my life. Is it possible to use Gibbed's save editor to jump back to a certain place in the game? I just realized that I could save both the quarian's and the geth without killing one of them off.

But, unless you have a save prior, I don't think you can hop back and do it again.
There is a really nice post on the Bioware blog by Matt Rhodes, who's a concept artist at Bioware. Here is what Tali could've have looked like... Had I been in the art department when they were told to photoshop an image, I'd have just probably gotten up and left. Someone okayed this. Someone paid someone to do this. And people agreed. And a lot of ME3 feels like that, like people agreeing on things that don't make sense.

It's there so that you can haul butt when the reaper is about to attack, and you'll just have to regain that little bit of charge you lost whilst it continues as normal when you resume the attack. I didn't get it first time either anyway, so...

That's one happy suit right there.
It's happy that Tali's face isn't just some crap photoshop.
Who looks at all this concept art and just goes "nah, let's just use a half-assed photoshop of some model".

Thats rad.
Muuuch cooler version of EDI.
My main beef with ME3 is how they bastardized it for the main-stream audience It was so painful watching my jackass roommate who never played ME1 or ME2 play ME3 on his Xbox and end up killing near every original squadmate and not appreciating the intricate plot of the first two games The worst was him telling me about which squadmate he was going to "fuck"
Now i feel sad because i mentioned that a few posts up. I wasn't really serious though. But yes, i don't like it when people join a series later on and don't care about what came before. I know a guy who started playing saints row three recently, i told him he should play the first two to get a feel for the series and characters and the like, or at least 2. He responded with why the hell would he want to play old games.
