So are you able to continue to explore Andromeda after the final mission?
So are you able to continue to explore Andromeda after the final mission?
Yes
Unplug your controller if you have one in and are using KB+M, mine kept making me run left whenever I turned even though nothing was being pressed on it.
Solid suggestion but I actually don't have a controller. and I should clarify. When I stop holding W I stop moving but when I hold shift+w and then let go of w, my character continues to sprint even though I have the setting set to "hold"
i love how easy the kett base missions are when you spec like an infiltrator "you have to go around the base disabling/exploding things here and there all while fighting waves and waves of kett!" or "in a single use of tactical cloak you disable everything without firing a single shot and drop to the final area to fight the ascendant"
Solid suggestion but I actually don't have a controller. and I should clarify. When I stop holding W I stop moving but when I hold shift+w and then let go of w, my character continues to sprint even though I have the setting set to "hold"
decided to just use a controller and now I'm having an issue where my controller inputs are doubling as mouse and keyboard inputs. So in conversations my camera flips out, and while walking forward my camera pans up. All the buttons are doing what the keyboard version does in addition to the controller version and it's making the game freak out. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] I don't fucking believe it. I saw a random comment on reddit, about a completely different problem, where the solution was simply exiting steam. That fucking worked. My controller works fine now. I'm not running the game through steam or anything. Steam isn't touching anything related to this unless..... Unless it's because of the recent thing where steam can remap non-steam controllers. It might be telling my pc that the controller is a simulated keyboard like the steam controller and the game is reading the controller as a controller. Combine that and you have my problem. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] Nope. Steam isn't remapping my controller. It's not that. having steam open while playing Andromeda breaks controllers.
I'm having some pretty heavy Lag spikes / Stuttering on all graphical settings. Anyone having the same issues?
I'm having some pretty heavy Lag spikes / Stuttering on all graphical settings. Anyone having the same issues?
Yes, since launch. Trial ran beautifully.
I'm still baffled about me being able this game with pretty much everything on ultra
This game is all over the place everywhere So far playing on xbox one (not even xbox one S) and the only performance issues i have sometimes is a slight 2 or 3 second delay when talking to Suvi, which in turn made me never talk to suvi anymore so i consider it a feature
I think the only part of this game I genuinely hate is the save system. Can't save during priority missions, can't save during combat, can't quicksave, autosaves are way too spaced out. It actually sucks ass.
I'm more annoyed by the galaxy map than by the lag spikes.

I was baffled at how far into the game you had to get before you could manually save and quit. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline]
I'm more annoyed by the galaxy map than by the lag spikes.
Traveling is such a fucking waste of time. People harp on zelda for the wasted time in the collectible animations but this is way worse.
I'm more annoyed by the galaxy map than by the lag spikes.
Yeah that's my only problem with the single player. Shouldn't take like 4 minutes just to visit one cluster of planets.
I'm having some pretty heavy Lag spikes / Stuttering on all graphical settings. Anyone having the same issues?
Goes away if I restart my computer
Okay I was really, really enjoying the game so far. ...And then I just met Jaal and his friendly species. [sp]Holy crap, that felt so badly done. This was supposed to finally be the long sought 'first contact' with a friendly sentient species from another galaxy. In a matter of minutes, without knowing anything about eachother, you are being led by the hand through a street filled with civilians. Conveniently you can breathe the air. Conveniently they get their 'translator' working within seconds Conveniently they have 'heard reports' and know what 'The Initiative' even is They also instantly trust you and send one of their top dudes to hang out with you Some random ass civilian hanging our at the docks, sees an alien species from another galaxy and immediately asks it if he can fetch something for a friend of his because "you have a space ship!" All this, considering that the last alien civilisation the squid people encountered were the Kett who fucked them up immensely. Nobody was interested about sharing technology or finding out what a 'human' is(let alone the other 4 species on that ship). Everyone instantly knew and understood each other. I felt like I missed a good 30 minutes of setting up for this scene. Kinda like how Vetra just showed up, said "hi" and then she was part of the Pathfinder team. [/sp]
Uhh, it's only humanity's first contact, not their first contact with any Milky Way species
Okay so in the last 24 hours I: bought the game downloaded and installed it played three hours of multiplayer played six hours of singleplayer returned the game I simply cannot handle the amount of bugs, poorly done writing, even more poorly done animations, pretty shit voice acting, and USELESS GODDDAMN ANIMATIONS. I swear to god every single thing has to have a pointless animation tied to it to make it take longer.
Goes away if I restart my computer
I tried restarting the game and it worked for a while but then it begins again.
sorry you feel that way but I can't help but feel you're exaggerating
Well aside from the control issues I mentioned on the page before, just off the top of my head I can think of three times when I got stuck in between boxes as I jumped around. Once where I had already done the tutorial action before it popped so the tutorial froze and I had to restart. Character models popping around and clipping with each other more times than I could count. Specific scenes where Ryders face looked like she was trying to see how far back she could pull her face muscles. Audio cues constantly play over each other. I cant remember his name but the initiative leader has a pretty bad voice over. The tone of the voice never matches his actions. Additionally, they took a LOT of the bad things from Dragon Age Inquisition. Fairly large maps with stuff spread out. Shops selling items for high prices while buying them back for 100x less. nine hairstyles. One new addition that I thought I would love is scanning. But I hate it. All it does is make me run over every single area twice looking for things to scan after shooting everyone. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] oh and the save system. WHY THE FUCK CANT I SAVE WHENEVER I WANT TO. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline]
Literally all I've seen from this game is terrible animations, terrible voice acting, terrible custom characters, extremely buggy multiplayer (that wasn't fixed by the beta since the beta was cancelled), and people saying "No those aren't common. It's actually super good."

Do people need to be stupidly hyperbolic about this game

I'm not. My entire knowledge of this game consists of the bad animation gifs, the bad VO clips and the buggy MP posts in this thread. I haven't seen anything even remotely good until the screenshots right above me. And those screenshots look amazing.
Knew I recognized that avatar. You said the same thing when I said I thought the game was going to be bad. Maybe it's because I was aware of these problems before I played it but this stuff is inexcusable for a AAA dev with five years to make a game. To answer the question before its asked, I bought the game anyway because of you all saying its actually good.
Terrain geometry and getting stuck in stuff? I'll be honest, I have barely had that happen to me, but it happens in most games. It happened in Dishonoured 2 for me, it happened in DOOM. I mean fair enough but I don't think games are ever going to not have a problem with that. Yeah the beginning of the game is kinda broken and kinda bad, just flat out. As far as the rest of it goes I haven't had to deal with an abudance of facial glitches or anything, my custom Ryder seems to be doing okay, And does looking around after a fight really matter? Don't most people do that anyways? To look for loot or whatever? Why does it matter that now you have an additional thing to look for? I don't think this game is great or wonderful, but it's good and a lot of it's problems seem really, really exagerated to me. 36 hours with the game, and I don't seem to be able to compile a list of hyperbolic problems. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] I thought the game was going to be fucking terrible until I played the trial, and that changed my mind. So yes, I will ask people why they're being extremists with their opinions [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] It's not like every flaw of the game hasn't been blasted into space with a radio telescope at this point. We were all pretty aware of the evident jank the game was made out of before it released. You're not special for acknowledging the game had evident jank that we could point out months ago.
Coupla things. Firstly, if the beginning of the game is bad, as we found out with the trial, why would I want to keep playing? If I start eating a sandwich and after bite two, I find out there's a giant lump of shit inside, I'm not going to finish the sandwich on the off chance that the shit is only on the side I started on. Secondly, I wish I had kept screenshots of all the times I saw a character make a face that took me 100% out of the moment. Seeing Ryder pull her cheeks back so far that its comical in a serious moment or watching her eyes pop out of her head because shes supposed to be mildly surprised kills all immersion I had. Not to mention the NOOT NOOT aspect of every single persons talking animations. Thirdly, yes it does. here's the gameplay loop of the first games. Explore>Loot>fight>Loot>repeat. Now, the loop is still the same but during the explore section, you have to bring up the scanner and look around through a tiny box instead of just using your FoV. If you find something to scan, you easily scan it. But if you find something to loot or interact with, you auto-close the scanner and have to take it back out again. When you have a room full of stuff to do, this is extremely annoying. So whats the other option? Scan after looting. Obviously this makes you have to explore every room twice. So yes, it is annoying and it is that bad. Its a chore for minimal rewards that just wastes time.
and I don't seem to be able to compile a list of hyperbolic problems.
"I don't like your opinion so you must be exaggerating or a liar" What is this, reddit? Frankly, I think you're kind of an asshole for just waiving my opinion off just because my complaints have been made before.
I'm sure it's already been discussed, but not as far as I've read so I'll ask -- Where the hell are my Quarian dudes at? I asked this question to a friend, and he told me that they're [sp]'on the Turian Ark.'[/sp] Like, okay. Didn't that [sp]get fucked[/sp]? Does that mean there are just no Quarians in ME:A at all? And if that's the case, why is it that nobody's mentioned it in-game yet? It seems so unspoken as a topic, almost deliberately unaddressed. If this is entirely a willful ignorance on my part for not having played far enough into the game (where they'd presumably explain it) yet, tell me -- but I just want to know whether or not I can even expect to see them at all at some point. I've only heard they mentioned once, in passing, and it was in reference to the Geth back home. I miss my blinky-eyed pilgrims.

Talk about immersion. This just wasn't how I wanted it. :(

Take my Quarian friends out of Cryo, Bioware [editline]25th March 2017[/editline]
Hey, at least by the time they arrive you should have sorted all this shit out right? The audio cutting out is honestly the most frustrating thing in the game IMO. The number of times I've had someone contact me in the Nomad get cut off because the developers decided to limit dialogue to certain areas or have incidental dialogue cut off important dialogue is infuriating. Especially since the game acts like you intentionally skipped it and you can't hear it again, it just add the quest or whatever to your journal. Did no one play test this shit and point out how fucking annoying it is? Did they just not care when they were told?
Did no one play test this shit and point out how fucking annoying it is? Did they just not care when they were told?
From what I know about being a tester, chances are the testers were ignored for the most part in order to finish more critical things. Bugs have levels and most of the ones that made it to the game are non-critical and thus really low priority. And to be fair to the devs, they usually only ignore testers when they don't have time to listen, which comes to publishers causing pressure. I like to imagine that most of the devs cared a lot and wished they could have done better. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] I would love to see this game get patched all pretty and all my complaints go away. I'd gladly buy it again if they did that. Cause the parts I enjoyed were really fun. Mostly combat, but still.
So far, I think this is a better Mass Effect game than 3 was. But it and 3 are both missing that musical "oomph" that 1 and 2 had. There's no Virmire Ride, Vigil, Suicide Run, or Uncharted Worlds here. The only thing that has come close so far is Heleus, the new map theme (and that's marred for me by the map being... bad).
