Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

Thirdly, yes it does. here's the gameplay loop of the first games. Explore>Loot>fight>Loot>repeat. Now, the loop is still the same but during the explore section, you have to bring up the scanner and look around through a tiny box instead of just using your FoV. If you find something to scan, you easily scan it. But if you find something to loot or interact with, you auto-close the scanner and have to take it back out again. When you have a room full of stuff to do, this is extremely annoying. So whats the other option? Scan after looting. Obviously this makes you have to explore every room twice. So yes, it is annoying and it is that bad. Its a chore for minimal rewards that just wastes time.
I just don't see this as a big deal. It has never slowed me down or anything, but sure, I'm an asshole for not having a problem with it
"I don't like your opinion so you must be exaggerating or a liar" What is this, reddit?
[editline]25th March 2017[/editline]
Not what I said, feel free to stick whatever words you want in my mouth, but that's not what I said. I said I can't make a list of those types of complaints, yes I have problems with the game but I haven't had your issues.
I never wanted to be. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Frankly, I think you're kind of an asshole for just waiving my opinion off just because my complaints have been made before.
Sure I'm an asshole for that? I guess? whatever you say, I don't really care. I've been told before, that the issues other people have with other games, when I don't experience them that I'm the liar. So i'm kinda sick of being the "asshole" because I don't have problems.
Hey, at least by the time they arrive you should have sorted all this shit out right? So they will have a nice new life there. Right?
If they arrive at all. From the time the rest of the initiative launched, ME3 isn't far around the corner. Nothing's gonna be launching then.
So far, I think this is a better Mass Effect game than 3 was. But it and 3 are both missing that musical "oomph" that 1 and 2 had. There's no Virmire Ride, Vigil, Suicide Run, or Uncharted Worlds here. The only thing that has come close so far is Heleus, the new map theme (and that's marred for me by the map being... bad).
The lack of music is my biggest complaint.
Why has Liam decided to go shirtless on the tempest? Every time I talk to him now he's shirtless.
I agree with many of the complaints posted a bit ago but mining and shop prices are definitely not one of them. You don't need to mine. Like, ever. Not on the galaxy map, not on the nomad. You can get more than enough resources (to craft what you need - obviously not everything but if you want to craft everything without grinding for resources thats on you) by finding minerals on planets, deconstructing weapons, getting the cryo pod perks for it and simply buying them. Hell, there are boxes around containing 100-200 of any resource lying around. And the complaint about shop prices makes no sense, i'm drowning in money in my game and don't even know where to spend it, you get expensive salvage to sell every two seconds. I deconstruct every weapon i get so i would have even more money if i just sold them.
Everything else needs to be patched asap, obviously. Specially the glitchy side mission stuff where for some reason a trigger won't work and welp i hope you enjoy having it on your journal unsolved forever. Thank god that (still) haven't happened with any main mission or i would be livid as well.
Someone mentioned the audio cutting, that's terrible too, every time someone starts speaking i have to stop in place because i fear interacting with anything or just moving a bit further will cut it. Sometimes not even that, i swear liam cut dialogue once by going through a door without me and triggering another sentence from SAM
Like I have 30,000 credits. I don't even know what to buy because I buy whatever interests me and I've functionally run out of the need to look for or mine for anything but Vanadium.
In fact the amount of resources from mining planets is so pitiful that i don't even know why anyone would ever bother. "You found 35 platinum on this planet" woop-de-fucking-doo, i found 150 platinum in a random container two minutes ago, it took five seconds top.
If people are really hurting for money, sell remnant decryption keys. 720 spacebucks, you find them like candy in remnant sites when you're out of them. There you go, tons of money, nothing to buy with it.

He's getting ripped by moving couches.
And turning cargo into couches

Yeah mining is a bitch. I'm thankful my game broke somehow and gave me over 1 million titanium... It might have been a billion. I sold it all for like 600 jillion(might have been million) credits, so getting materials isn't an issue for me any more :D
Has anyone else experienced having the ! icon not going away in the inventory menu? I've also got a few completed quests with it, but the journal's ! icon goes away after checking everything.
if mining is such a grind why not just use a trainer or cheat engine or something to give yourself a reasonable amount of resources?

God knows I did this in DA:I.
for those on 21:9, there is a fix for the black bars. you'll need Flawless Widescreen to use it.

Keep in mind that after [sp]Meridian, Hyperion picks up an audio signal from the Quarian ark, and it sounds like it's in a lot of trouble, although it does imply that the ark ended up launching.[/sp] Who knows what's going to happen with that.
ok wow, TIL you can save scum loot in containers
found out accidentally after dying :v:
not sure i'm a big fan of the whole [sp] secret 'benefactor' organization operating in the shadows and pulling strings. that trope has already been done enough with the shadow broker and the illusive man. if i wanted more illuminati id go play deus ex.[/sp]
Just finished ME1. That was a satisfying ending. Did all assignments, went renegade in just about everything. And I always tend to be a goody two shoes in an RPG so it was a nice change of pace.
Ending spoilers
[sp]I let the council die and installed Anderson as Military Dictator. So satisfying after having been dicked around the whole game.[/sp]
Also they really need to add a way to return to the tempest without leaving the planet
"What's wrong Ryder?"
"uh, just need to use the bathroom quickly. don't sweat it"
"alright preparing to take off"
"wait i'm still doing stuff here you don't need to leave it will take five minu-"
"TEMPEST ARE GO LEAVING LZ ANOMALY DETECTED"
Just met up with [sp]Zaeed's son Bane.[/sp] now why couldn't he be a squad mate?
Just killed an ascendant with a sticky grenade.
Salarian operator might be one of my favorite classes

Getting one shotted by a fiend I didn't know was behind me is 👌
The charger is ridiculous

On the Normandy it was the opposite, you could probably traverse half the galaxy while in the bathroom and not notice it.
Good ol simple-click galaxy map.
Is the MP fixed? During the trial it was so bad and rubber bandy that it was unplayable
Heh, I managed to get the viability of a planet to 100% without going to the vault. The place isn't exactly much better now than when I started.
Most of my mp games are fine, but occasionally I'll get an awful host. Doesn't ever seem to let me host for some reason. I'm on Xbox though
[editline]25th March 2017[/editline]
The sound issues are gone too.
Heh, I managed to get the viability of a planet to 100% without going to the vault. The place isn't exactly much better now than when I started.
I've been making a habit of waiting until the last possible minute to perform the [sp]vault terraform[/sp]. So when NPCs start spouting off to me about how hospitable a planet is becoming, I can agree with them by ceremoniously removing my helmet and choking to death in the sulfur-polluted atmosphere.
Achievement Unlocked: Got every planet's viability to 100% without making any of them actually livable.
From what I know about being a tester, chances are the testers were ignored for the most part in order to finish more critical things. Bugs have levels and most of the ones that made it to the game are non-critical and thus really low priority. And to be fair to the devs, they usually only ignore testers when they don't have time to listen, which comes to publishers causing pressure.
I like to imagine that most of the devs cared a lot and wished they could have done better.

I would love to see this game get patched all pretty and all my complaints go away. I'd gladly buy it again if they did that. Cause the parts I enjoyed were really fun. Mostly combat, but still.
Bioware games are usually okay after they patched up. The last few have had pretty bad launches but turn into okay games once they're fixed and discounted. I'd never pay full price for a Bioware game these days.
Is the MP fixed? During the trial it was so bad and rubber bandy that it was unplayable
Haven't had a connection lag issue since. Sound is entirely another story, and so is hosting; this was actually a problem still to this day for me in 3MP, so I'm used to running solo for three rounds for the EA's matchmaking realizing I exist.
If you stand far away with a sniper and only kill enemies with a 1 hit kill they don't detect you :v:
It has to be a 1 hit kill or else they trigger and start shooting you but they could literally be standing next to eachother and headshotting them doesn't bother the others at all
Okay I was really, really enjoying the game so far.
...And then I just met Jaal and his friendly species.
[sp]Holy crap, that felt so badly done. This was supposed to finally be the long sought 'first contact' with a friendly sentient species from another galaxy. In a matter of minutes, without knowing anything about eachother, you are being led by the hand through a street filled with civilians.
Conveniently you can breathe the air.
Conveniently they get their 'translator' working within seconds
Conveniently they have 'heard reports' and know what 'The Initiative' even is
They also instantly trust you and send one of their top dudes to hang out with you
Some random ass civilian hanging our at the docks, sees an alien species from another galaxy and immediately asks it if he can fetch something for a friend of his because "you have a space ship!"
All this, considering that the last alien civilisation the squid people encountered were the Kett who fucked them up immensely.
Nobody was interested about sharing technology or finding out what a 'human' is(let alone the other 4 species on that ship). Everyone instantly knew and understood each other.
I felt like I missed a good 30 minutes of setting up for this scene. Kinda like how Vetra just showed up, said "hi" and then she was part of the Pathfinder team. [/sp]
[sp]
Being led by the hand through a street ? Well you actually had rifles pointed to your head and the moment you strayed from the path intended they actually gun you down. What else could they have done, throw you in a container and carry you to their leaders ?
Also the angaran were already aware of humans and Milky way species, Kadara even used to be an angaran port, which was captured by the kett, which in turn was liberated by Sloane. The only reason why they even bothered with the whole dramatic "transport through the city gunpoint" scene was because this was the first time aliens other than kett showed up on their homeworld.
And the angarans not trusting humans or any other aliens because Kett fucking their shit up is actually a major plot point and the main reason why the Roekaar (one of the hostile factions) exist [/sp]

This just kinda raises the gripe of [sp]if we knew about the Angarans and the Angarans knew about us, why didn't we hear about them before and why did we treat that encounter like first contact?[/sp]
