Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?
This just kinda raises the gripe of [sp]if we knew about the Angarans and the Angarans knew about us, why didn't we hear about them before and why did we treat that encounter like first contact?[/sp]
Knowing someone has moved in next door isn't the same as them breaking your front door down and inviting themselves into your home.

I don't see how that's relevant to the point I was making?
[Sp]If the milky way settlers knew about the Angarans why didn't we hear about them when we arrived?[/sp]

[sp]The humans didn't. The Angarans knew about the Milky Way species arriving.[/sp]
Things I like about ME2 so far: Graphics, story is interesting, more world building, the ward you have access to on the citadel is nice, was a lot of fun demanding discounts (especially at the souvenier shop).
Things I don't like: New galaxy map (much prefered clicking on planets instead of having to fly to them, plus the fuel shit), "end of mission" screen takes me out of it, the dumbing down of rpg skills, the new various hacking minigames (I prefer the one in 1 as its simple and quick), Sprint/Use/Take cover being one key, no keys to quickly open the journal, codex, or character screen. The popups on the side that take up a lot of room (achievement progress and codex entries especially).

Haven't done much more so this is subject to change lol

[sp] Since the initiative had no idea. Because they had their hands full with other problems like the riots, other arks not showing up, scourge, golden worlds being unhabitable, their only colonization effort being a failure due to the kett etc. When Ryder arrives at Nexus they even say how they have literally been just floating around doing nothing.
The exiles who left the initiative were the ones who made contact with angarians and you meet with exiles only after meeting the angarians [/sp]
Buying a space hamster was also a good investment
[editline]26th March 2017[/editline]
Oh yeah, i'm also torn on the new inventory system. I don't like how I can't toggle my helmet on or off at will either.

Buying fish and then forgetting to feed them :ohno:

Ah that makes more sense. I haven't gotten a chance to play much of the game since it came out, so I'm probably just missing info.

[sp]The people on the Nexus had no idea the Angara were there, only the exiles did because they eventually made it to Kadara and Elaadan.[/sp]

Im talking ME2 lol
Im talking ME2 lol
Oh right I'm dumb. Soz.
In ME2 you can only do it from the Armor Customizer in Shepards room.
Im talking ME2 lol
oh my bad. I assumed you mean MEA
Can anyone explain to me how a model of the SSV Normandy SR-2 is on the Tempest? They should have no knowledge of anything even pre-ME1, yet they have a model of the ME2 ship?

Didn't they leave during ME2/before ME3? It was definitely after the first game.

The Arcs left after ME2 but before the end of ME3, IIRC. Theres a message from Shep to the Initiative as well.
Decided to buy Andromeda after all. Looking good so far, but one thing I can say sucks right off the bat is the fact that you can't directly control squadmate's powers like in previous games.
Confusing thing, is why is the SR-2 in Alliance colours?
Confusing thing, is why is the SR-2 in Alliance colours?
Didn't they leave for andromeda after Shepard [sp]was put into jail[/sp] after the events of ME2, meaning the SR-2 [sp]was seized by the Alliance and converted into the command centre for whateverhisfacewas[/sp]?

Good point.
How much time was between ME2 and 3?
The other weird part is why would there be a display model already. Unless Daddy Ryder had one commissioned.
[editline]26th March 2017[/editline]
According to the timeline, the Andromeda Initiative ships leave before the events of Arrival.
A bit over 20 hours in this game so far. I've never felt more frustrated playing a game before.
Finding mining zones is a pain in the ass, and then there's an upgrade to unlock more mining zones? Yeah no thanks.
Pain in the ass? You go to the icon on the map, drive around until you detect resources.....
Dialogue gets interrupted pretty frequently, so I have to save really often and reload in fear of the dialogue cutting out because either I'm moving too fast or activated another prompt which overrides the dialogue.
Slow down, stop triggering things while you're talking to people.
Can't seem to clear some map areas, the icon remains white even though I've opened every container, and scanned/interacted with everything in the area.
Becuase you're not suppose to clear every area of a map yet, the game will bring you back to them.
Game "feels" sluggish. Movement input seems really slow, long delays often requiring me to repress the key if I wanted to jump immediately after landing, stuff like that. Some performance issues as well as graphical artifacts like incorrect lighting or black skies. Although that could be because I haven't updated my drivers yet.
Updating drivers may or may not fix that. I'm experiencing quite a few performance issues since launch, they didn't exist in trial.
Some quests like the Lost Scout were frustrating because it required you to use your biotic power at a door to break it. No where else prior to this quest has the game asked you to do something like this, shooting at the door and meleeing it didn't do anything, so I thought maybe the thing was bugged or maybe I missed something.
Could go either way, sound like requiring Biotic was an oversight.
Lack of loadout customization for companions are also another minor thing.
What I don't like is how simplified the squad commands are now.
And damn the unskippable planet transition scenes every time you move anywhere in space. Also lame how you can't enter the tempest without going into space.
You're complaining about an unskippable loading screen?
I'm glad I bought this for $40 instead of the usual $60 but damn even then I think it might be worth less...
I highly doubt that the planet zoom animation is a loading screen. It's way too long to be one for how little is actually loaded.
[editline]26th March 2017[/editline]
Reminds me of the elevators in ME1, which were loading screens. However in that game they were made artificially long because load times were inconsistent on consoles.
it is a loading screen
"but the previous games didnt had one"
the previous games didnt had to load the planet as a backdrop for the front window/pathfinders cabin either
Good point.
How much time was between ME2 and 3?
Between the destruction of the Collector base and the beginning of the Reaper invasion of Earth? Between 6 and 10 months I think. Arrival takes place a couple of weeks, a month or two at most after the Collector base was destroyed. In any case, it's always stated ME2 takes place in 2185 and ME3 in 2186.
it is a loading screen

oh man that single texture, sphere and handful of space effects really must take a lot of resources.
Good point.

Mass Effect 3 takes place six months after the events of Mass Effect 2.

During which important stuff happened that we were never shown. Goddamn do I hate the wasted potential that is Mass Effect 3's intro.
