Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?
I love at the beginning of Mass Effect 3, where Joker will offer to call up the Council so you can hang up on them like the old days.
The problem is that he also tells you that even if you never hung up on the Council.

it didn't stop until i reloaded a save
Well, I just finished the [sp]Exaltation Facility on Vould. That was interesting. The Kett are basically an organic, fundamentalist version of the Borg.[/sp] Which, is pretty much exactly how I (and most other people) predicted. [sp]I'm a little upset that Aya is just a small port. I was expecting something between the size of it now, and Havaarl.[/sp] But what is there is VERY cool looking. Finally being able to walk around is nice.
I'm wondering though, where and how can I first fight the [sp]Architect on Eos,[/sp] I keep hearing about it but I can't find the quest / trigger.

Making an Impression. The one you go around hammering places to dig for water, iirc you get it from someone in the Prodromos. Warning, i had no issues put people around the internet complained about it being very buggy, so save often
[sp]I'm surprised you havent met it yet, though. Before the exaltation facility i already had faced not only the Eos architect but the Voeld too[/sp]

I unfortunately ran into a bug on that quest. Definitely save often, and if you run into the bug try fast travelling and running around a bit before returning to the place where you encountered the bug. That fixed the problem for me.

I got Eos to 100% viability, and then moved on to [sp]Havaarl.[/sp] I got THAT to 100% viability, and did what I assume is every sidequest there. I haven't found any other triggers or anything, and I did the two tasks that you find naturally in the world. When I got to [sp]Voeld[/sp], I ended up talking to the people and being hurled right into the main mission. Which, is fine. It felt natural for the pacing. With the short lull I have right now, I'll probably go and finish up the few side missions on Eos. I'm incapable of finding [sp]the researcher's stations, and the colonists. I'm missing a few on both quests. It's weird, too, since I already found the researcher's stuff inside the secondary vault-thing on Eos.[/sp]
So I was in the Nexus about mid-game, and I heard an HNS news report in the background that read along the lines of --
'A worker has been lost in space while performing repairs on the Nexus hull. The identity of the victim has been withheld until their next of kin in the Milky Way has been notified.'
I'm sorry, what?
Is that an actual thing, or did the writer who slipped that in just have no clue what the in-universe situation with that was? It literally stopped me in my tracks when I heard it. My understanding was that the one-way-trip was very literal -- no communication back, not in any practical sense, and no real correspondence with the people 600 light-years away in the Milky Way.
So what the hell? Was that just a major fuckup on the writer's part, or do I have this completely wrong?
Yeah me and my friend spent 20 mins talking about that one the other day like, what?

Did you [sp]blow the place the hell up or save the prisoners, and why?[/sp] Discussing choices, and the rationale for them is probably my favourite part about the franchise.

As much as I agree, I don't really think this was an actual choice. One of the options [sp]saving the prisoners[/sp] makes functionally no sense, if [sp]the dialogue is to be believed, and this was our ONLY chance to weaken this place without them preparing an army first.[/sp] The loss of [sp]a few hundred to a thousand Angara[/sp] WELL outweighs the potential of [sp]hundreds and hundreds of thousands more, plus whomever we'd lose assaulting the base a second time[/sp]. Although, I suppose someone with a different outlook could justify it with[sp]if you can save these people, it's your duty to.[/sp]
What about you?

Same thing. [sp]You made sacrifices and shit to get that far, you gotta finish the job. Never get out of the boat unless you're going all the way, right?[/sp]
How about Prodromos? [sp]I made it a military outpost. It's a planet of everything trying to kill you, so I figured trying to lock that shit down and getting dug in would be a good call.[/sp]

The first one, [sp]I did not understand why I could not do both. Was a timer not possible to set so I could evacuate the prisoners and blow up the place?[/sp]
The second one, [sp]I went science focused but I do not think it makes any difference since the choice I made has yet to come up again.[/sp]
That choice pissed me off. [Sp]I opted to rescue as many Angarans as we could, and yet when I got back on the ship the moshae lambasted me for "not caring about her people"[/sp]... Like what the fuck?
[sp]If you really gave a shit, you would have blown that place up, seriously, that place is evil and leaving it there just allows them to keep doing their weird cult shit.[/sp]
So yeah, your own fault.

In retrospect I wish I did do that, but that's irrelevant. If she criticized me for [sp] letting it stand [/sp], that'd be one thing. But to give me shit for [sp]not caring about her people when I went out of my way to rescue as many of them as I could [/sp] is dumb.
[Sp]Like I risked my life to rescue your people and you're gonna tell me I didn't care because I didn't blow the place up to boot? [/Sp]Fuck that.

[Sp]I feel she gets angry because you made the choice for her people, while a prominent figure in their society is telling you that it has to stop now. You don't care for her people's beliefs you care about applying your beliefs to them.[/sp]

This moment was worth the $45 I paid for the game
I still can't believe Karpyshyn is back at BioWare but isn't working on any Mass Effect games. Another Karpyshyn-headed ME could save the franchise.
I also can't believe the writing sank so low after Mac Walters took over. He wrote Garrus in ME1 and 2. Garrus is one of the best characters. I guess some writers are good at overall plot arcs and worldbuilding and others are good at one on one characterization.
Anyone got a solver for the 5x5 [del]Sudoku[/del] Remnant Glyph Puzzle?
Namely this one.

I find [del]Sudoku[/del] Remnant Glyph Puzzles boring.
Just google the solutions, that's what I did.
I'd go to Google, if you get it wrong a bunch of robots spawn and that's just a waste of time
How are people still complaining about space sudoku
you get tons of remnant keys to skip it. Use them.
never skipped a single puzzle (i kinda like sudoku), sold a bunch of keys to pay for pimpin' paints to my nomad and i still have 8 sitting around in my inventory. i don't think i've seen more than eight sudoku puzzles in the game yet. and i don't know if its a bug or intentional, but when you have zero they drop like its hot from any remnant place mob/chests

It's just her point of view as uzumakai explained
[sp]the big guy from Aya (evfra? dunno his name) emails you telling it was a hard choice and praising you saying he would do the same, even if many people around would disagree
i chose to save the people to maintain the consistency of my character (always saved angarans before like the previous situation with the AI) and because you can always just take the krogan way and bomb the fuck out of the place when you take the people out of there[/sp]
I don't mind the sudoku when its the 4 boxes 4x4 but those bigger ones can fuck off, its a hacking minigame, I shouldn't be there for like 10 minutes
I'm not 75 years old stuck in a retirement home, I don't play goddamn newspaper games
Does the ME1 on Origin have all the DLCs?
I had the original on the 360, but I never got around to downloading the DLCs for it.

it does (on origin access at least)
currently playing through the OT and got reminded how much I love and missed this series, ME2 in particular has lots of great little things I completely forgot about
[sp]and Samara's cleavage[/sp]

AFAIK, all PC versions have all the dlc. I didn't even know there was DLC for it until someone on console mentioned it.
[editline]27th March 2017[/editline]
for ME1 anyway. Could be wrong

Thanks for the info (ME2's dlc still has to be biopoint purchased)
I fucking hate Observers.
they're fine to deal, two sniper shots and they're down, just tactical cloak and get to cover and they will focus on someone else becoming easy targets
i hate the kett dudes that turn into smoke more. why the hell can they hit me when i'm cloaked but i can't hit them even when i'm seeing the dude shooting right in front of me?
I play a Vanguard/Sentinel, so observers are cunts. Destined are fairly straightforward, just spam the melee, it auto-locks if they're in range.
wouldnt tactical cloak be good for vanguards too? the bonuses for melee are pretty juicy and you can insta get out of risk by cloaking after jumping in and just circling the dude to hit him again
