I can only do so much with 2 shotguns and a sword (and I was starting to get bored). :v:

So, since people have had some time trying out Andromeda by now, is it worth getting? For the record, I'm mostly interested in if the story/characters are good, since I [I]always[/I] OCD out and try to do as much as I can of side-missions, collectibles, etc before the main storyline in open-world games. But if the story/world/characters isn't all that, I usually loose interest before I can complete it, and I'd rather not play a Mass Effect game which instils that, than buy and play it halfway through. Combat, gameplay and multiplayer takes the back seat, not all that important to me. First game is honestly still my favourite, despite its flaws.

Well if you want to play it for Story, wait for a sale, Gameplay is pretty damn good but if that's not your main thing, sale.

i'm liking the game, but if you have OCD to complete side stuff, you would hate the game by the first planet trying to do all the tasks so yeah, wait for a sale

Haha ascendants were my one weakness as a berserker kroguard, didn't even get a chance to try headbutting it before it one shotted me

Wondered why isn't there a quest that where the PCtranslator stops working and you had to maneuver through a certain point to actually get it working again and you get to hear the native languages of the other species. I need it sounds cliche but we have a bunch of phrases in Asari,Turian,Salarian, and Krogan, so what would it sound like w/o auto translation?

More ME1 notes: Just did a fuck ton of sidequests/almost the whole Feros mission. I don't really see where the Mako hate comes from. The mako is honestly not that hard to drive, and has a fuck ton of firepower, at least on the latest PC patch anyway. What kills it is the fucking suspension. That thing has sent me more into the air than some of the biotic powered fuckboys. But besides that I just like it a lot more than I did playing it on the 360. Also, I wish it was just a bit faster in terms of general speed, but that might make the Feros Skyway run a bit more annoying, so who knows. Speaking of Feros [sp]I like the whole "the real weapon is inside everyone" thing they do. However, wouldn't that just infect Shepard and the crew as soon as the freighter was lifted? Who knows.[/sp] Speaking of biotic powered Fuckboys, I forgot how much they spam that voiceline. Fuck that voice line. I'm getting Fallout New Vegas PTSD with that line.

Biotic combos in particular seem incredibly weak, with the strongest way to build biotic characters being melee builds that essentially play like Vanguard without charge. Engineers can do some sick stacking armor debuffs to help take down big guys quickly, but I find that besides the map, the biggest thing that makes gold runs easier is what weapons everyone is using. The Vanquisher is so absurd that even having one makes things easier. If other people are running Chargers, Hurricanes, and Talons it helps. On the other hand, if people are running just dogshit weapons like Avengers and Shadow's and simply aren't killing enough enemies before you get overrun then it makes it that much harder, especially when you get fucked on a Device or Upload objective. I have a little over 30 hours but only 3600 APEX rating so by no means an expert but the best runs I've had generally involve either heavy melee teams or weapon platform characters with stealth, maybe with one person running tech combos. It's my highest ranked Uncommon. It does less damage than the Rank I Avenger :suicide:

I just finished mass effect 1 for the first time ever after buying the trilogy on origin and loved it so fucking much Installed me2 and was met with immidiate disenfranchisement, I transferred my save and tried really hard to enjoy the game but the spark just isn't there anymore, liara is gone and I can't get her back, So is wrex, I can't walk around the citadel anymore and the combat system feels strange I'm sure I will adjust as I play more, but I better be able to get my old crew back besides Gary's tail and joker at some point, I miss em. I 100%ed that game and I fell in love with my crew.

Fuck Fiends, man. Their grab animation is so quick, and the hitbox goes way ahead of their arm. I seen Fiends wipe whole teams by grabbing them through goddamn walls.

The only essential thing right now on Gold is Vanquisher and Melee, anything else is just gimping your team. Powers are extremely weak, like Zalkin level of weak, Combos are.. like 2 shots from Raptor I on an enemy. The best thing you can be as a caster/power user is to be a support for your teammates and debuff / CC enemies... and that's it.

I've been playing for about 27 hours at this point and am at 39% completion with my mission on [sp]chasing the archon[/sp] I don't know why Andromeda gets so much hate. It's one of the longest and most fleshed out games I've seen for a generation. The only couple that compare are dark souls 3 and final fantasy 15. I'm having a lot of fun entirely decimating my opponents with the grenade, flash-attack, and surpressing battle rifle power, and hitting them with the [sp]nomad[/sp] going 150kmh never gets old when the physics are so good. I feel almost like I'm done with the game but I have a feeling there's a good half left. As for the rest of what people were saying In the thread, [sp] the kett are actually a really interesting race. While the interaction between the iniative and the angmar is interesting, the kett, while about as interesting as a doorknob, have an interesting heirarchy, and the story seems to hint at a deeper meaning. The subjugation is odd and disturbing, but I would also like to point out how nobody makes the connection that the remnant were angmar. Hell, the only thing that caught me off guard was who the charlatan is. (I actually attempted to be as friendly as possible, but it turned out to only add sexual tension in the conversation, ending with me having to "break up" with him lol). In any case, I so far appreciate and enjoy the game, pretty much finishing every side quest in my way, except the super long lists of tasks. Currently level 32 and just leaving kalada. [/Sp]

With prestige you can set them off about every 3-4 seconds, there is not much even on gold that will survive that other than Fiends and Destoyers. They're simply no longer the instant squad evaporators they once were unless you rank max in most power-spec passives. Skipping both or even one passive this go round is not going to get you far in the meta without an absurd weapon, and if you have an absurd weapon, you're probably still missing damage or accuracy from your passive unless you're a 'pure' adept (asari). Wow... the stats for all of the MP weapons are all over the place, like one AR is even worth using, and most shotguns are just trash. In fact it feels like everything damage wise was scaled down. Biotic combos do fuck all.

The Avenger takes an entire clip to kill basic enemies on bronze. It's meant to be a weak gun but that's just pathetic.

Oh holy shit, I've been reading some stuff on the subreddit. Some of the weapon mods do literally nothing in MP. Like, legit absolutely nothing.

Anyone else playing this game on a 4K tv with HDR? Its absolutely stunning i've never seen something as good depending on area of game on such huge bleeding edge tech I got. Nothing compares at all 4K and HDR is future! in era of shit AA methods in modern games. Im asking beceuse I'm getting huge fps drops to 30 fps when looking at very specific angles ingame. And cutscenes usually drop to 30 aswel 80% of the time. I've noticed when im in such areas where different angles rather than one where it happends making it a stuttery expierence which makes me die in combat not enjoyable at all. When I move to such angle my gpu usage is halved. It sucks beceuse otherwise I can max this game 60fps 4K.. I dont even understand how this happends beceuse when I play the game on my 1440p 144hz monitor this doesnt happen at all and it just stays smoothly at 100-120 fps. I cant possible understand how a different panel makes this happen when its obviously a game issue now with 4K resolution? Ive tried disabling HDR aswel. Disabling/enabling v-sync :s Anyone know? If anyone is like me and spends thousands to get smooth expierence every year with latest titles and then get fucked in ass by fancy tech is infurating.
