Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?
I thought that was solely Hans Zimmer. (if you're referring to mw2)
Jack Wall composed the soundtrack for Black Ops 2 though.
Jaal's loyalty mission was dope. [sp]Meeting his family afterward was cool too with the hug interrupt.[/sp] Speaking of which, I do like how they're going for that family theme with your squad. It's not a unique spin on it, but an appreciable one.
ME2 notes:
I really miss the powerWHEEL from ME2 on the 360. The power Brick at the bottom doesn't make sense and is just more of a PiTA than a fun gameplay solution.
I still love the first few intro missions on Omega, Mordin and Archangel [sp] MY HOMEBOY GARRUS[/sp] are STILL top tier "getting companion" missions. Although I haven't tried out the DLC companion get missions yet, I probably will later. Tali is still a cute, and Jacob still is a lame character.
Speaking of Omega, you know what I miss in ME:A? Actual Slums. No I don't mean "starting out" colonies/[sp] the exile planet[/sp]. I mean a general area that is just a absolute rathole, something that would make you say, "Oh god, what area is this?", and you try to help them out with stuff you get in the open world sections.

I like the fact Ryder isn't a father figure at all and is closer to just a really good friend for most of the people onboard.
[sp]And becoming the godparent to a krogan clutch made it all worth[/sp]
Ugh, was just 15 seconds away from finishing off a multiplayer match and the game crashes to desktop :suicide:
The main theme in ME:A is amazing in my opinion. Any track related to the Archon [sp]or any higher ranking Kett[/sp] is boring ominous music, but there's some legit good stuff in there.
Also the jukebox in your quarters has some sick beats.

It even includes the galaxy map theme from the previous games.
I love this one

harbinger was the best saturday morning cartoon villain ever
[editline]3rd April 2017[/editline]
also he's voiced by the guy that does the dark elves in skyrim
It hurts me a lot whenever i think of Legion. I probably loved ME2 because of that character. (Yeah Tali and Garrus too but Legion man). Feels so wrong to have little of it.

I thought the geth consensus mission is one of the most laughably budget sci-fi video game feeling missions of all time, it was really hamfisted
I think I might like Legion's writing in ME3 more
Okay I found the CoD track that has the same notes as Suicide Mission in ME2.

You can even hear the fucking Mass Effect theme in it
There's a difference between "unknowable" and "not needing to know." I won't speak for everyone, but I know that for myself and many others it was perfectly fine to think of the Reapers as simple exterminators. Whether they did that to curtail organic potential to destroy one another or just a simple power trip, I didn't particularly care; all I cared about was that this cycle would be their last.
Plus, if you're going to explain their motivations, don't contradict that explanation within the same game. The Reaper's logic of "Organics and Synthetics will always come to conflict and genocide" is DIRECTLY refuted by the outcome of the Quarian/Geth War if you achieve peace.
The way I saw the Reapers before their entire backstory got fucked was that they were protectors of the galaxy. If you think about it organic life exploits natural resources and ends up ruining ecosystems and the like. Or more simply they bring destruction with weapons like nukes. Just see what we've done to Earth.
The Reapers basically made sure that preservation would occur. They made sure organic life would evolve on their path, as to minimize the chance of more destructive ways being used. They also are incredibly efficient, Reapers are only made out of organic matter, so they don't end up being hypocrites who destroy the thing they're trying to protect.
Ron Perlman would make a great fucking Krogan.
So, after coming back to the Nexus after Eos I was able to complete the First Murder side quest.
[sp]"I have missed the shot, so I'm innocent, plain and simple."[/sp]
... ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!
[editline]Today[/editline]
I mean, this triggers me because law is my area of expertise, but even then, really? Who the fuck wrote this shit. His ass is staying in jail, alright.

[sp]since they convicted him and he wasn't guilty of MURDER, wouldn't that fall under double jeopardy? or am I being dumb[/sp]

[sp]Theres no double jeopardy in space.
And who knows what laws are what in Future Space Milky Way / Andromeda.[/sp]

[sp]THEN WHY IS THERE ATTEMPTED MURDER WHAT EVEN[/sp]
[sp]Yeah that pissed me off so much (And I knew it was coming) I decided to exile him anyway[/sp]
So far playing Andromeda has just made me hate Ryder. Way too quippy for me. Maybe it's accurate because it's not about saving the galaxy like the originals and therefore less serious but even the "serious" interactions end up with lame Nathan Drake-esque jokes.
Drack is sweet tho
[sp]Just give him a fucking trial by combat. Thunderdome it. Easy.[/sp]
They should have something like in Dragon Age Inquisition where you run a colony and determines law and punishments for people.
So,
got to the bit where Vetra [sp]makes you a burnt to shit steak and sets up a semi romantic candlelight dinner
and then stands next to you all anticipatory with her mandibles doing the cute thing[/sp]
So, as a hardcore Talimancer in the previous trilogy, right, I feel majorly hyper-heretical about this but
[sp]Vetra's a better character and has a better romance and is way more kawaii[/sp]
Is there a reason in particular the Milky Way species who didn't take part in the Initiative aren't even mentioned when you'd expect them to be?
Like, they set up a Cultural Exchange Center but didn't bother to set up V.I.s explaining to the Andromeda alien races what a Quarian, a Drell, an Elcor, an Hanar or a Volus is (I'm assuming they may want to leave out the Batarians and the Vorchas on purpose, you know, for good publicity reasons).
Also, during a side quest there is this Turian scentist who warns Ryder that many Milky Way races were downright annhilated by machines of their own creation. At that point I expected the Quarians to be mentioned, but no. Ok.
A gameplay-related question, now: can I skip the majority, or merely a lot, of the quests contained in the Additional Tasks tab? I don't have enough time to play this game as much as I'd like already, and many of these quests require you to move between planets, which is incredibly time consuming

I assumed it was because the Quarians aren't in the first wave, so they didn't bother to set up information about them until they'd actually arrived. It was probably, in actuality, because they don't have models for any of those aliens yet (DLC DLC DLC) so they didn't bother to make stations for them. [sp]Batarians deserve a spot, they did nothing wrong. Humanity is a blight.[/sp]

You can indeed. The only missions you really need to do are the priority ones. I think that [sp]Elaadan[/sp] in its entirety is skippable, actually.
Just did Hunting The Archon. [sp]I saved Raeka. Somebody please inform me why a group of Krogan scouts are more important than a smegging Pathfinder.[/sp]
I think it's pretty cool you can end up [sp]Denying Morda her drive core[/sp] but really who the fuck would do that
It's such an obvious bad decision that can only make things worse

[sp]Salarians barely live for 40 years, Krogans live for thousands. Also exalted Krogans are kind of a massive problem and allowing the Kett to have them is not your best idea[/sp]

This pissed me off way more than it should have. It feels like
[sp]The choice originally was to either save scouts or save salarians, which would have been an actual choice, but someone decided to add Raeka on the salarian side and made the choice completely meaningless. [/sp]

Good for them, but the choice was between [sp]"save some Krogan foot soldiers" vs "save the central motivational figure of the entire Salarian species"[/sp]
[sp]oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck the fucking archon's seen my browser history[/sp]
