Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?
I'm midway through an ME3 run right now and I really want to play a FemShep run (I never have, all of my runs have been ComMarkMeer Shepard,) but I don't want to have run through ME2 and ME3 so close to having finished a run. I've already sank 45+ hours into these two runs, I don't want to spend another 50 hours for another two ;-;
You could use your current save and change your Shepard through save editing.
Finished Citadel, you lot were right, entirely worth my time. One thing it's made me realise though is how hard Bioware are going to have to work to get me to feel so attached to any other cast of characters, ME4 will have it's work cut out for it. I don't think Ive been as attached to any characters, film or game (maybe the LOTR crew) as this lot, part of the reason I love Mass Effect so much.

I've been saying the exact same thing. Even if they get everything right with the next game, it's going to be so fucking hard for them to surpass the established characters. Five years of characters growing on people and having influenced one of the largest fan communities is going to be their hardest thing to live up to. I don't see how they'll be able to make a character I've liked more than Garrus.
I've never liked a video game character as much as I have Garrus. I actually find it both creepy and weird that I like him so much, and this is despite having played ametric fuckload of RPG games in my life. Not once, before Mass Effect, have I sat back and said "Woah I REALLY FUCKING LIKE THIS GUY. He's like the wingman everyone wants. Am I developing a crush on a video game character? What the fuck."
I must be the only person who didn't care either way about Garrus.

I don't get frothy in the loins for him. He's awesome bro but to be honest he plays the 'I'm hurt inside feel sorry for me' to heavily.
I'm also weird apparently because I liked Kaiden and Jacob.
Kaiden's a bro

No daddy issues, competent; I mean hell, that alone sets him apart from most of the squad.

Shame about the whole "Shepard I want your dick" thing in ME3

I still remember the expression I made when that happened. It was vaguely reminiscent of this...

This song makes me so relaxed, really sets the atmosphere of the entire trilogy

It used to make me feel so warm inside. I have a clear memory of when I first played ME1, heard that on the menu, and knew I was in for a ride.
I haven't listened to it since finishing Citadel. It makes me depressed. I have Mordin flashbacks and all of the shit I fling at what the series became comes back to the front of my mind.
That said:

ME1's soundtrack depresses me because It makes me think "OH GOD ITS SUCH AN AMAZING WORLD!"
And then I realize it all ends with a fucking ghost kid...

I'm probably in the minority here, but honestly even knowing how shitty the ending to it all is hasn't shaken my love for the trilogy. Call me a fanboy, but I still play through all three games every year and I'm really looking forward to the next one because from here the only place they can go is forward, hopefully far enough to invalidate fucking starchild.

The ambient music was so fucking good, but had those creepy as shit undertones. ME1's soundtrack is a fucking work of art. I get goosebumps just thinking about it, and how they managed to make it reminisce of shit like Blade Runner and Dune is outstanding.

I still love the trilogy. I adore the characters and the universe, those are two things that would have been so hard for them to fuck up. I'll likely give the upcoming game a go as it is, after all, in the sam universe. I haven't played through the games since Citadel, but I think that'll eventually change. Whether I actually continue playing ME3 once I finish Citadel on that run, though, is yet to be seen.
The hurt people experience comes from the thwarted potential. All that glimmering hope that rose from the beautiful universe that was crafted. I can't call out the gameplay or the writing or anything else that ended up happening, as even ME3 is quite above most games in most respects. The issue is when you then look at how much potential was thrown away.
I've made myself sad, now.
This is why I try not to talk about Mass Effect anymore.
None of the other games really captured the feel of the ME1 soundtrack.

This has to be my favourite Mass Effect 1 LP. Freelance Astronauts.

Ugh, that fucking animation where Shepard turns around in the first ten seconds of the video. It's so annoying and overused in the game.
Also what the hell's with them re-using the video on the TV screen from the Earth mission? Wildly unfitting for this scene.
Kaidan's awesome. Shame he gets hand-waved away as "boring human dude" all the time.

That's it, I'm done, I've lost faith in bioware's animations department

If it took you until then to notice, then you have a high tolerance for shit :v:
So I got maybe 1/3 through ME3, and I keep saying man, I should finish that game. Should I?
I have 3200 bio ware points what DLC to buy for ME2 and ME3?
I have 3200 bio ware points what DLC to buy for ME2 and ME3?
Citadel for 3, Lair of The Shadow Broker for 2

Might as well. Some of it is actually pretty good, and the parts that aren't are so poorly written that they cross right into "unintentionally hilarious".

Just found my Mass effect 1 save was at the ending just gotta run through 2 now
I kinda want to get Leviathan now, I haven't got any DLC for ME2 since release so I might look into shadow broker

Leviathan is fun. Good old fashioned horror story in the first part of it with some surprisingly decent fleshing out of the lore. The environments kick ass more than anything though.

What do you expect from the guys who don't even bother to properly pose the hands while holding guns?

I mean, I love the Mass Effect games, but sometimes the animators just didn't try even remotely. Holy god the running animations in that first level of ME3.
