Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

You have NO idea. Basically three(4) writers had to do some herculean shit to get what little story we have intact into the game.
Is it just me or is ME1 nearly impossible to play? SO far I've tried the Find the chick in the mining site and some side mission involving hostages on a ship and both times I've spent over 2 hours dying the second the battle begins, reloading, and trying again (mining site after finding the Lisomethingorother chick and trying to escape, other mission right when I find them).
Difficulty is on the lowest...
You either picked bad skills or bad classes, and you have to remember that it's an RPG; your skills literally suck at the beginning and get better with time, that includes both aiming and movement skills, you don't get those for free like you do in the rest of the series.
I get what happened, but I can't imagine it would have been much of a challenge for an almost (if not totally) supercomputer like Legion to copy and paste what it needed, especially since it only took a few seconds (apparently) to extract the Reaper code.
imagine if legion copy-pasted himself into a entire platoon of geth prime host bodies and shepherd gets to command them all around while they all chirp "AFFIRMATIVE SHEPHERD-COMMANDER" at once
"My name is Legion, for we are many" has never been more appropriate
I want to visit the alternate universe where the geth brought Shepard back.

But what about the other two endings? [sp](quiet snickering)[/sp] Control and [sp](loud snickering)[/sp] Synthesis render that impossible.

That would have been so much better for so many reasons. Quick and concise way to establish the Geth as not evil, introduce a new threat, and have an interesting ally that doesn't constantly fuck up and leave entire planetary systems full of its debris. Also Legion would probably have been the starting squaddie, which would have fixed Bioware's track record of having starters about as interesting as a crumpled tin can.

You mean like Ashley and Vega?
"shepard I'm mad at you for that thing you did a year ago, though my unbridled hatred for Cerberus was never explained very well besides 'alliance says ur bad' lol"
"shepard I'm mad at you for doing my job before I did"
Granted, Vega's was much more understandable; Being responsible for a colony's destruction would suck.
I'd play the Mass Effect trilogy again if I didn't know I'd just pick the same choices again.

That thing about Ashley being a bitch all of a sudden is partially the fault of Cerberus being completely out of left field. Yeah you could meet them in ME1, but I sure as hell didn't remember them and I'm sure lots of other people never even found their base. If we got to see stuff like Project Overlord before we really knew who they were then I'd say unbridled hatred would be a rational reaction. As it stands she just seems upset that someone exists that is more racist than her.
She may have been like that with the Geth too though, but at least then her misgivings would've at least made an effort to make sense in that case.
I wouldn't have been so upset with Ashley if she didn't question me at every single moment after I had repeatedly told her off.

That, or at least developed as a character. Sure, her racism in the first game is a little understandable, but having it continue on through ME2 and ME3? What bullshit.
In ME you could chew her out for messing with the beacon, which always felt good.

That would have made her a weak character, people don't change their ideals and opinions quickly if at all just because cmdr. shepard said some words of wisdom.
I may not like that she's a xenophobe but I find her to be a strong and respectable character, something she wouldn't be if she suddenly became cool with aliens.

If having her head so far up her own ass that she can see out her mouth makes her a strong and respectable character, then yeah, sure.

I'm just curious, when is she racist in ME2 and 3? Have no memory of her being as xenophobic as she was in 1. She's friendly towards Tali during the geth dreadnaught mission at least(in my playthroughs).

Was this ever completed/released? Looks amazing and so much better than default EDI.

Umm Shepard had enough mary sue juice to convince krogans ten time his/her age that that thing they believed their whole lives was wrong in two sentences, I'm not sure what game you were playing.
Ashley is just poorly written, and when BW wanted to reel her in and make her more relatable they simply didn't put the right people on it. It's really that cut and dried. She was just an experiment and plot vector in anachro-culture that they didn't properly flesh out, and the writers that could have done the job were working on other chars; it just how the BW system works.
me2
She still says a couple iffy things in 2, in three she just either likes or hates Shepard accordingly in relation to Cerberus. (oh, the irony)
I imagine that the only reason the game's plot is good in some places is because the writing staff was constantly fixing Mac Walters' messes.

It's not just Shepard's influence, it's the influence of working with an alien crew, getting to know and understand them. If memory serves me correctly, she even spoke to Shepard on how she was starting to see how misguided her xenophobia was. By ME2, that all goes down the tubes.
Also, it wasn't as if she didn't have time to mull all this experience over. She had two years after Shepard died, which isn't a quick change. Granted, all ties to the squad were likely cut after the Normandy blew up, but her time with them wouldn't have been forgotten. Her anti-alien stance still being that prevalent just seems so bogus to me.

I remember my facepunch shepard streams, shit was great. I really need to do those again once ME4 is about to come out.
Was playing Bronze with my friend and two randoms, decided to see how long I could last with 0 points got to the end of wave 8 when I suddenly got 800 points and I have no idea why. So from wave 9-11 I decided to kill everything, ended with 75 kills and 60k points going from 4th to 1st.
I'm looking for this one ME3 review that talks about all the stuff that doesn't make sense. It's by a guy and at one part he talks about how the Mars tram sequence doesn't make sense. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
It's in the video section here, and he never finished the series, and it wasn't a review, that was going to be whole gimmick, making a video series about plot stuff that didn't follow logic in all video games, not just ME. Just use the lab and whatever keywords (Liara, Mars, ME3 blah blah) and it should come up in the video section
I wish I could find the texture mods and shit more easily.

Mass Effect 3 has a Nexus page.
Unfortunately, the Nexus is still the Nexus.
I wish I could find good headmorphs. Finally able to edit PS3 saves and I can't find any good headmorphs for females.
Hey guys! What do you think?

Holy crap. If I didnt want leviathan before, I do now. Very well done.
Also, can anyone tell me if you get the N7 defender armor in the Digital Deluxe edition of ME3 from the Origin store?

The Origin page says it comes with the N7 Arsenal Pack. I think the defender armor is a pre-order bonus item.
