Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?
That one and "Destroy" are the most appropriate to the theme of the trilogy, even if the latter has that ridiculous concession that [sp]the Geth and EDI are destroyed.[/sp]
[sp]EDI is not destroyed[/sp], if I recall correctly? Since she's on board of the Normandy which narrowly escapes the wave-thingie thanks to Joker's pilot skills, the ship is unaffected.
[sp]Pretty sure I've seen her get off the Normandy at the end at least once.[/sp]

I've been looking at Mass Effect 3 mods and it seems that textures have to be modded in separately? Or does anyone know of a overhaul that you can just install?
[sp]that was probably in symbiosis [/sp]
Damn, you're right. I just checked the wiki.

Yeah, you need Texmod for your Mass Effect texture mods. It's a great tool, easy to use, but it just takes a long time to load the game.
Damn, so you have to mod everyone in separate? :(
I'm afraid so. It's not that bad, just put all the files in the same folder and select as many as it can.
For Mass Effect 1 there's an all-included pack.
The only fanfic that I've found that's worth a damn is Transcendent Humanity.
It's short but good.
This one is interesting aswell, kind of an inverse of Transcendent Humanity.

Javik you beautiful bastard.
I bet Shepard's seen that face a lot. Depending on his LC choices, that is.

There's a tool that lets you just install textures into the game instead of using Texmod, I forget what it was called though.

Damn, I would have liked that too.

I think I found something

Yeah, that's the one.
Holy shit, just finished ME3.
I tried this series a long time a go but never finished it, recently I decided to give it another try and play through all 3 games. Having just finished the third one I can say that this is now one of my favorite game series of all time. I had the extended cut and I managed to get the best ending, I think? [sp]destruction but with high enough EMS, so Shepard is alive at the end and all the crew survive. (except EDI, and I guess the geth?)[/sp]
But yeah, these games are amazing.
Hey guys, I'm replaying Mass Effect 2 (edit: on PC). and I'm getting the "Cannot authorize DLC" bullshit for Arrival, Shaddow Brooker, Kasumi, and Overlord. I have them installed and yes, I did buy them all. They're on my entitlements page. Anyone got any ideas?
PC or console? If console, make sure you're connected online.

I wish I was you because I hate every game except ME1.

I should have mentioned that :downs: PC.

For, me, it's the other way around
I'm still wondering how someone could like a videogame with such subpar gameplay compared to so many RPGS

Granted, the quality of the ending depends on the finale you really want to give the series, but many see the best ending as the [sp]synthesis one[/sp], since it requires a high assets score to unlock and is overall more optmistic

Are you definitely logged into your EA account in-game?

i find the synthesis ending to be full of horseshit tbh.
synthesis just raises more problems that what it claims to solve. medical science has to be completely rewritten whilst everyone does of cyber ebola contracted from a vending machine, seeing as everyone is half robot, half meat now for some reason.
Destroy is the only way to go in my opinion, it's what the entire series has been working towards anyway. Luke wouldn't suddenly turn away from defeating the emperor and destroying the deathstar to make it fire lasers that turns everyone in the galaxy into part jedi part sith whilst he's in the middle of dueling Vader.
I mean sure, you lose EDI and the Geth, but I always like to think they just need to switched back on
Each time I hesitate about the final choice, I remember what every single ally has told Shepard throughout the series: the Reapers need to be destroyed. Killing them is the only way. They've been exterminating billions of billions of civilized living beings for millions of years, stopping them is destroying them.
Keeping them alive is betraying Anderson, Javik, and so many others. That's why Destruction is the only way, period.

100% agreed. Control is directly counter to everything we've ever learned in the series (Saren and Illusive Man being the demonstrators), and Synthesis is pseudoscience at best. Destroy (and to a lesser extent, the 'fuck off' option) are the story-appropriate ways to go.
Not to mention it's the only ending where Shepard lives. That has got to mean something. I feel much more comfortable and satisfied knowing he/she lives.
(To people who might say "yeah but Shepard would die soon after": everything's possible knowing that he/she's alive.)
I see the Refusal Ending as Bioware saying, "You don't like the choices we made? Fuck you! Everyone dies!"
Think about it
When you do shoot [sp]the Catalyst[/sp] or refuse to take an ending, the "main antagonist" states "SO BE IT" in a very angry, Harbinger-like tone
You know why he's angry? Because you just refused to comply with its terms and you made sure that the Reapers will be defeated in the next cycle thanks to your efforts and Liara's time capsule. You are basically giving him the middle finger on a galactic scale.
Of course, this ending just costs you all your allies and countless many other lives, but ...
i find the synthesis ending to be full of horseshit tbh.
I've not said it's the best ending for me, I just stated how it could appear as the "gold" ending of Mass Effect 3, given the assets level you have to pile up to even make it an option
Personally, in the game proper I went for a [sp]paragon-control ending[/sp], mainly because I don't see the point [sp]of inflicting an even momentary dark age upon the galaxy if I can take the Reapers and use them to benefit all the races involved[/sp] and, aside from the previous issues with Saren's and the Illusive Man's approaches, the extended version of the ending shows that the whole thing is going to work on the long term
... All of thoose and the fact [sp]I BASICALLY BECAME A FUCKING GOD[/sp]
They all suck. It just comes down to which ending you feel sucks less.

Well considering Bioware's love for retconning of course everything is possible.
We all know you hate ME3 and don't like ME2 much, chunkymonkey, you don't need to come say it at every occasion in your usual agressive tone.
The citadel dlc is the best ending.
