Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

I finished the trilogy for the first time recently and I have to say I didn't expect to feel so much for these characters. Talking to all the squadmates and ex-squadmates saying goodbye to Shepard on [sp]Earth, my injured party and my love interest having to let me go alone to my pretty much inevitable death, Anderson dying inches away from victory... That one hit really hard, as I went and did the Citadel DLC, only to hear the autobiography of a good man I saw dying minutes earlier.[/sp] I liked the ending of the game, [sp]if you forget about the catalyst kid of course[/sp]. For me, Mass Effect was always about the squadmates, so I found the side missions they received gave them enough of a conclusion. When I heard about slides being added in the extended cut, I tought it was going to be a Fallout style "everybody gets a small narration about what happens to them" sort of deal, but it wasn't a big disapointment because the images themselves showed everything that needed to be said.
I'm going to miss the characters from the trilogy. It's going to be weird playing a Mass Effect game without hearing the voice of Garrus, Joker or even Shepard. I'm sad it ended, but it had to someday I guess. And the Citadel DLC really ended it on a high note.

Welp apparently this is some kind of interaction between AMD cards and the ui layers that Origin adds; your choices are getting rid of Origin, or disabling Origin in game, and even that's guaranteed not to work.
Hm, I'm not crazy right, they never explained why Saren and his brother look different from other Turians did they?
Probably a gene thing.

Disabling Origin ingame worked! Thank you very much, I wasn't even able to find that much info. All the input-related problems I could find were A. related to 360 controllers and B. from three years ago. That's awesome, I've been itching to play some more multiplayer recently and now I can. Thanks again.

Yeah, probably a different ethnicity of turian or even just an uncommon trait that cropped up in his family tree. But one thing we can agree on is that he kind of looked like a space elf with those ear-like protrusions.
I have Mass Effect 3 on PS3 and I unlocked the Talon Mercenary. It's a melee aiming heavy character, so it's not easy using him on it. That made me wonder : Do the characters and weapons I unlock on a console connected to an EA account transfer to the same account on PC and vice-versa.
Kinda want to play this again
Should I just buy ME1&2?
Haven't played Me1 since launch
so i've gotten back into my me1 game, just got past the part where [sp]i chose to let aidan die with the nuke on virmire in the sole purpose of banging ash.[/sp] also it seems that [sp]liara wants to bone me, but i want to have a 3-way.[/sp]
I really want a definitive Mass Effect trilogy remastered edition for the PS4 with all the DLC added
hooray, finished ME1
that was kind of short for a bioware game. and now onto ME2.

I know, I was under the impression they were very long but I finished the entire trilogy in a week.
Also bump. I love ME despite having only been playing for a week.
I love Mass Effect for the same reason I love Battletech and Halo.
The God Damn lore and universe is so good. Its probably the main reason I've been working on, for the past 3 months, my own lore.
Also holy shit this thread is still going.

ME is already suffering from Bioware syndrome for me. I've done it so many times that the beginning is grinding on my nerves and is putting me off from starting a new game. Citadel-Be-Gone would be my first install forever if it existed.
Well, me and my friend relapsed and are now blasting through multiplayer on PC. It's actually pretty busy considering. We were wondering, though, does anyone have any clue on when they'll take the servers offline?
The servers will be supported even after 4's launch, until they deem it time to fold any existing playerbase into the new version; MP is still making them a little money right now, so you can expect it to continue.
finished ME2
damn that was good

Hold that sentiment tight, you are going to need it for what comes next

And rightfully so. ME3's multiplayer might have just been Horde mode, but it was a fun kind of Horde mode wherein you had a sizeable amount of options (many different variants on the different classes and many different weapons) and a bit more than just killing wave after wave of the same dudes/beasties. While not "perfect", since you were still kinda limited in comparison to what Shepard could bring to bear during the campaign (couldn't carry as many weapons and didn't have as many skills to pop), it was still a fun experience with the Mass Effect 3 combat system in a wave-based combat scenario, even if it wasn't exactly Killing Floor.
I'm tempted to do another playthrough of the first two one of these days, maybe after I'm done with my re-play of Shadow Warrior.

i nearly shit my pants from [sp]the amount of reapers in that cutscene. also, should i play the arrival or skip it and get straight into me3?[/sp]
God the Mako is a beast, what is it made of?

Play it. It's the weakest Mass Effect series DLC, but it helps setting up the third game

Made of pure eezo

Pinnacle Station would like a word with you.
i only have enough points to get from ashes or leviathan
which should i get? or should i save origin points and get omega or citadel instead?
From Ashes adds a cool extra character, but Leviathan has about 3 hours of extra missions. Take your pick.

Although if you don't have Citadel DLC but can still get it, get that above all the rest.
Get From Ashes if you're going to play the whole game again. Javik should have been in the main game, key scenes are pretty different with him.
Get Leviathan if you plan on doing the ending soon as it adds more ~explanation~ to what the fuck happens at the end.
Get Citadel if you want to have a shockingly long adventure where all your team know they're going to win from the start so everyone has fun with it.
Get Omega if you're desperate for more Mass Effect, it's a pretty poor DLC. It also has one of the dumbest scenes in ME3, the ending excluded.
it would be neat if they just gave it all for free, or if there was some way to get it for 0 points

firewalker
From Ashes shouldn't have been a DLC. I'm glad I pre-ordered the game and got it for free.
Bringing Javik to the asari homeworld change things quite a bit.

That's why I almost cancelled my order back in the day out of sheer principle, and what started up my eternal hate boner for EA. (it only got bigger and harder after I learned about the earlier murders)
