Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

Well I've just started my annual Mass Effect trilogy playthrough.
It's probably going to be the most thorough and longest playthrough I've done of the series. (Going to be a lore master fo sure).
Oh and I've never actually completed Mass Effect 3, I always get half way through and just get sick of it all. So I don't actually know what the ending is like. Maybe this time I will finish it.

Good luck.
In so many ways, good luck.
I wish I could buy all the dlc in one package.
I usually end up acquiring the dlc by... other means. Not because of money, but because it's so damn tedious with bioware points and such.
John Dombrow returns to write for the Next ME game.
He written Javik, Garrus in ME3, Genophage cure arc and co-written Geth-Quartian conflict act.
He's one of the few reasons I'm even paying attention to the series anymore.
He moved to Irrational Games after ME3 story DLC's development ended and worked on Bioshock Infinite( though how much he was involved is unknown).
Since Irrational Games was shut down a year ago for bizarre reasons, Bioware hired him back again.
So I just replayed ME2. Why isn't Zaeed a good option for the diversion team, in the Collector Base? He seems like the perfect option: heading the Blue Suns, being experienced as fuck and all the other backstory stuff.

He's also always the only survivor.

He definitely makes more sense than the actual 'correct' options to me, only Garrus has actual combat leadership experience (unless Miranda does and I forgot) and even he is a sort of a renegade cop. But no if Zaeed leads then the tech specialist always dies, no matter who they are or how loyal they are.

Zaeed is good at fighting and being an intimidating presence. There's nothing in the lore that says he's either a good leader or team player.
Idunno why Miranda is a choice there, Jacob might make sense though. More than Zaeed though, since he's team oriented.

Zaeed founded and led the Blue Suns before his co-founder betrayed him. He talks about it in his loyalty mission, he was the military leader and his co-founder was the monetary leader.
The exact words were: "he ran the books, I led the men".

The diversion has to be a natural born leader, Zaeed is a lone wolf.
Zaeed is for HTL.

You mean the mercs most likely to betray their contracts and known for murdering recruits wholesale? Yeah, sounds like star squad material there.

Except all of his war stories end with everyone dying except him :v:
Garrus and Jacob both have histories of leading teams successfully, Miranda is perfect at everything, and all of Zaaed's stories end with "And then everyone died but me."

Remember, Miranda was a custom baby with the absolute best education money could buy. Stands to reason there'd be some leadership skills in there. Probably even small-unit tactics.
Zaeed is so boring
I always thought this bit in Zaeed's armor was actually armor.

Then I realized it's his actual skin. ew

He says they weren't like that before he left and he became a lone wolf because of the betrayal.

Isn't it because every mission he's gone on only he ever really survived?

why do tattoos gross you out?
Isn't it because every mission he's gone on only he ever really survived?
No, that was all after he was betrayed, shot in the eye etc but it really doesn't matter now: he doesn't count as a good leader, I think he should. Whatever, the devs disagree (or it was an oversight because he was added after release).
why do tattoos gross you out?
Naw it's just cause it doesn't fit the aesthetic imo.
So potential new info

On top of the story not ringing interesting, I see now every single player game must have an app-like feature of some kind (see the war table missions in Inquisition)
But again, this is just speculation at this point

I'm sorry this is bollocks, create a massive, deep and interesting universe only to dump it all when the story arc of one character is over? The Mass Effect Universe isn't the Mass Effect Universe without the Quarians, Turians, Krogan, Asari and Salarians and all the merc gangs and the Alliance and Council's bureaucratic bullshit.
I dare you to tell me that Stargate is Stargate if you take away the Stargates or that Doctor Who is Doctor Who without the bloody Doctor or TARDIS.
I don't believe this, I can't yet tell whether it's because I don't want to or if it is actually unrealistic. But why create a deep and engrossing universe only to drop it like a ton of bricks later on?
Mako bitches!
Please don't be like Inquisition, i.e. padded out with a load of fetch quests and shitty crafting systems.
That game has too much content in my opinion.
I don't know what I want from Mass Effect 4. Should we talk about it? I feel like we need to talk about it.

Personally, I want more exploration of the stories of all the individual races. I'd love to play the Krogan Rebellions or the Geth Uprising, I'd love to be an Asari Justicar or a Turian cop or a Salarian scientist battling with morality. The trilogy created an amazingly detailed universe and it's a waste to end it with Commander Shepard.

If the humans can get to this new galaxy, who's to say the other races can't? we've already seen krogans in the e3 footage from last year

I guess you're right, it really boils down me feeling like they've barely scratched the surface of the Milky Way though. From my perspective there's no reason to move houses and I'm gonna be mad if anything gets lost on the moving van.
What if only some races come with them though? The Quarian's (in most cases) have a homeworld now and the Council don't have any jurisdiction in the new galaxy and what about the Protheans? Are they being replaced completely by the Remnants? There's also no mention of Mass Relays in the entire article. No Citadel, no Omega, no Alliance, no Council, no Reapers, no Spectres, no Protheans, no Blue Suns, Eclipse or Blood Pack, sure they'll bring along some stuff but when shit like this is pulled a lot is lost in the move.
I like Inquisition, but god please don't just rip features out of that, it borders on boring MMO quests like 90% of the time, and the actual places you explore have like no one to interact with. As far as I know, there is like two entire towns with interactable characters in that entire game.
