It Auto-Detects if a game is already installed on Steam.
Didn't for me.
Origin was trying to install the Incisor rifle and Kasumi's whole deal as soon as I registered the steam code there.
Didn't for me.
Mass Effect 2 does show up as installed for me, I'm not sure why the first one doesn't.
I take it the steam versions of ME 1 and 2 don't come with any dlc?
2 comes with Cerberus Network, so some weapons, Firewalker and Zaeed. As for 1, bring down the sky is free.
What about Pinnacle Station for ME1?
Nobody cares about Pinnacle Station AFAIK, and I don't think it is easy to get outside of the Trilogy edition; the source files are corrupt.
What about Pinnacle Station for ME1?
I'm replaying it right now, holy shit is it terrible. Take the worst thing in Mass Effect 1 and make a DLC entirely focused on it, you'll be sick of it within 5 minutes. It's poorly-written, uninteresting and sickeningly repetitive. The worst thing is, after completing the final task that is almost literally impossible, all you get is an ugly little apartment with a view on a desert and a radio that plays elevator music. And the means to waste millions of credits and get random useless crap in return. When I found out that the Reapers had blown Pinnacle Station to pieces in Mass Effect 3, I was so happy that I felt some love for the Reapers at that moment.
I must have skipped Pinnacle station during my play through. If it was that horde mode style DLC then I know exactly why I skipped it.
I don't remember it being that bad, but I do remember thinking it was overpriced and ultimately kind of lame with the useless apartment and no new items. At least it was a decent place to brush up on the combat.
I think it depends on the kind of person you are, I really liked ME1's combat even if it wasn't as refined and a bit floaty.
I loved ME1's system, my pistol that killed everything on a single shot and also overloaded itself 10 times over after every shot was so fun.
I must have skipped Pinnacle station during my play through. Well that's ME2 done. DLC and all. 32 hours in total. A satisfying playthrough, sped through the combat sections, initiated nearly all available dialogue options. Yeah good. A few questions I guess, but I'll let em slide. Time for ME3. Hopefully I'll finish it this time. Oh yeah, any recommended tweaks/mods for ME3?
First impressions of ME3: There are some quite noticeable gameplay improvements, so that's nice. Combat feels good. (Playing as a Vanguard.) Only just done the mars sequence, now casually getting a feel for the citadel. I found All the scenes with the kid to be rather cheesy, I don't feel anything for him at all. Kinda cringey actually. Especially when he gets [sp]blown up[/sp]. Yeah there's a load of exposition and forced lines, but I guess they were really trying to accommodate for people that had never played any of the previous games. Something feels different in the writing. It feels like this time its being written as if it's an action movie rather than a space opera. Cliche one lines, typical blockhead sentences, uncomfortable feminine fragrances and flatline military colloquialisms. (I guess? This analysis is being made and written in broad strokes.) Ok maybe I was a bit too harsh, I can feel a tenderness in the writing and sense urgency and desperation among the characters. I've modded the game to look alright, characters and armor look cool. Environments are shoddy, and blatant shortcuts have been made. It's rather black and white in that department. Audio is good though!
What about Pinnacle Station for ME1?
The last time I checked, you can sort of get Pinnacle Station for the Steam versions, but it kind of requires you to also use the same product key to download the Origin version of Mass Effect, and since the Origin version comes with all the DLC on it, you then just transfer and add a few files to the steam version of the game. It's an awkward and long solution, but it technically gets you Pinnacle Station on the Steam version if you really want to play it. That being said, I didn't really think Pinnacle Station was terrible, but I most certainly wouldn't have paid money for it. When it comes packaged on the Origin version for free, I have no major complaints to voice, as I was able to do every challenge on Insanity as an Adept, but then Adept was also a pretty potent class in the first game, I'm not sure how the challenges handled on other classes.
Really quite enjoying Freddie Prinze Jr. as Vega. He's a pretty good voice actor. Hating Jessica Chobot as Diana Allers. Deciding whether or not to have her on the Normandy was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a video game.
was fairly easy for me, I never hired her once. not like I needed her when my N7 spec ops war assets may or may not have been magnitudes greater than the entire collective military strength of the Imperium of Man
Oh I didn't know she brought so little to the table. But I must have everything.
Well, she boosts other war assets after each interview, but that's all.

The more the merrier.
I would only bring her on board if there was an option to let Javik throw her out the airlock.
Man, you end up regretting a LOT of decisions through the ME series. Biggest regret was not letting Vega give me the nickname. [sp]Well that and getting the ENTIRE quarian race exploded[/sp]
So this just happened: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/PkuXomR.jpg[/img_thumb] FUCK! I had to repair to fix it. I've lost all my mods. Can't be fucked to reinstall them as it took ages to install them. Guess I have to play the rest of this game in ugly mode.
looks like you're gonna have to take out a massive loan just to quit out of the game there

[sp]Refused, at least Kalisa(spelling) and Emily looked professional. Why did they agree with IGN and replaced Emily with Allers? Besides money of course.[/sp]
Whereabouts in the game should I start the DLCs? (ME3)
Whereabouts in the game should I start the DLCs? (ME3)
I think you should do "From Ashes" as soon as possible so you have Javikk and all is extra ship scenes, "leviathan" and "Omega" whenever before you finish the game, and "Citadel" either just before you choose the mission that locks you into the ending or after you finished the game.

They've really upped the price of DLC though.
Do dead characters come back alive for the Citadel DLC? [sp]Like what if Tali commits suicide or whatever.[/sp] Not that I've gotten to that point, just curious.
