• Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

Why would they? No, Citadel doesn't involve zombies.
Whereabouts in the game should I start the DLCs? (ME3)
I usually did Citadel right after liberating Rannoch, then Leviathan and Omega.
Why would they? No, Citadel doesn't involve zombies.
I don't know a lot about the Citadel DLC. I was just thinking it was a fan service thing that would've been like 'what if they didn't die and we won, lets party'.
It is a canonical event. If you want to have everybody, you keep them alive. Common sense, I'd say. The Citadel party is best done after Horizon, so you can bring everybody. The mission, whenever you want, but try to have a full party. Omega, whenever you want, you may want the assault rifles found there soonish. And Leviathan, you may proceed in a discontinued way, doing each part of the mission after each time you have to go to the Citadel.
Don't forget the ME1 rifle from Citadel as well
I had this ending mod for ME3 which put the Citadel DLC directly after the end of the game so you had the party after you kicked the Reapers' ass

Aside from some weird voice acting, it was OK.
Omega DLC was disappointing. Didn't do anything good with what was one of my favourite hubs in 2. Shitty filler, not worth the money.
I'm not sure what it really did bad though, its just a side story that shows how the war is affecting a place we been to before.
I'm not sure what it really did bad though, its just a side story that shows how the war is affecting a place we been to before.
It just left me thinking, 'oh is that it?' The writing was shoddy, the main antagonist was bond material. And it didn't paint the picture of Omega very well to me. Maybe it left a bitter taste in my mouth because I had to fork out money for it. £9! That's quite a bit of money for me atm, I was expecting some more fulfilling and rich.
Understandable my man, sorry you had to pay so much though, damn that is expensive.
shame they couldn't have kept Nyreen on as a squadmate like Javik, the team size was a bit scant in 3 Her name will go up on the wall of disposable squaddies with Jenkins and Steve Blum. RIP in pepparoni you inglorious useless bastards
Omega DLC was disappointing. Didn't do anything good with what was one of my favourite hubs in 2. Shitty filler, not worth the money.
My biggest thing is that it didn't follow up on anything that you did on Omega in Mass Effect 2. They could have things like Mordin's assistant Daniel running a refugee camp; Patriarch (if he lived) trying to take back control (and a choice between Aria or Patriarch- because, I'll be honest, I wanted to kill Aria a couple times); All the merc bands you rallied for War Assets should have had smaller scale mechanic in the assault on Omega; Aria's bodyguards, Anto and Grizz (whichever didn't die in the tie-in comic) playing a small role. Gavorn and his vorcha playing some kind of role... The list goes on, but all of that is thrown out the window. The end result was okay, but could have been A LOT better. Then again, so could a lot of the game.
My biggest thing was that Harrot didn't have his signature cigar. But no I do agree with you.
Omega should have ended with the eponymous station being a secondary hub. And without Nyreen dying off. Nyreen, Kal'Reegar and Thane were the most unneeded unavoidable deaths of 3 (with the whole Kirrahe taking Thane's place if he made it to 3 and Thane didn't, if both were present some bonus would be appreciated). Legion is comprehensible, a waste but comprehensible, but, the others? Nah.

A fucking 7 feet tall reptile-bird with mandibles, sharp teeth, talons for hands and metallic skin plates. And somehow attractive to a degree. That has to be awkward.
It's livin' the dream
Omega DLC feels a little better if you've read the related comic, Invasion. It adds some depth to the antagonist and his relationship with Aria, as well as give more background to the whole situation. Possibly one of the better comics too, if not the best.
Ok, that's it. It's completed. There's a lot to say and analyse. About the third game, about the trilogy as a whole and about the narratives and writing in video games. I've spent around 100 hours in the last month playing through the trilogy. And for the most part I really enjoyed it. And, like I said before there is so much to say. I'm currently not in the mood to compose an argument or analysis, and I probably won't be in the near future. So I'll just mention a couple of things going through my head at the moment. For the ending I picked [sp]Synthesis[/sp]. And that just left me feeling slightly confused and hollow. I wanted more explanation. Usually I don't like it when an ending leaves me asking more questions. I don't think Bioware was being very clever with that option. I mean it's an ok idea, but give us a little bit more of something to fantasize with. The writing, as a whole for the trilogy was serviceable. I guess good for a video game. It had some minor spikes in either direction of great and utterly shit. I say 'good for a video game' because it is, kinda. What I'm trying to say is that no game (save maybe Gone Home) has made me really feel anything strong. No game has tugged at my heartstrings, no game has made me lust for a character, no game has left me speechless to contemplate my life and who I am. The list goes on. Whereas movies, well written books or a beautiful piece of music have achieved such things. I don't know if this is because our most talented writers or 'creative personalities' flock to these other mediums because they disregard games or simply have had no exposure to them, or something else. I guess I want games to evolve. To divert and branch. To grow. To become experiences rather than...games. (Not saying I think gaming and all games should change, I just think there should be a new breed.) There's A LOT more I could say about this. I think I should cut it now. I'm tired and dehydrated. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow this rant will be seem dumb as fuck. I could go on and on. I could have rehearsed this ramble better. Oh well. Sorry, I guess. Thanks Bioware for creating a great and wonderful universe.
Legion is comprehensible
The fuck he is, he literally shows the ability to A recode himself on the fly B reproduce said code almost instantaneously and C upload copies of himself to archives in emergencies. Not only was it completely stupid, it didn't even follow its own preceded lore. Legion died because they "needed" a "sad mission that shows the cost of the war". It was literal Whedon-level superfluous writing, and several members of the team even refused to sign off on it because it was openly maudlin and terribly crafted.
wait which one is reegar i forgot
The one Quarian male survivor in Tali's recruit mission in ME2. The only Quarian in the series with a distinctive southern American accent.

Man Kal'Reegar should have had a whole quest line leading up to the Geth-Quarian conflict. Killing him off in an email was a terrible waste.
Man Kal'Reegar should have had a whole quest line leading up to the Geth-Quarian conflict. Killing him off in an email was a terrible waste.
Shit Reegar as a squadmate or present on Rannoch would have been great. It's terrible how unrepresented a lot of the minor characters were. There's a couple places in ME3 where I was like "Hey what if under these circumstances this guy showed up here?" Like Rana Thanoptia on Thessia indoctrinated. Maelon in place of Mordin in the event Mordin died in the Suicide Mission. Etcetera, etcetera.
Man Kal'Reegar should have had a whole quest line leading up to the Geth-Quarian conflict. Killing him off in an email was a terrible waste.
"THERE. IS. A. GETH. BEHIND. YOU!"
Man Kal'Reegar should have had a whole quest line leading up to the Geth-Quarian conflict.
