Utterly underwhelmed by that trailer. Early(ish?) days though I suppose. Don't think I'll ever be able to let go of the original trilogy :v: [sp]That Mako though![/sp]
that was johnny cash's cover of ghost riders in the sky the helmeted guy has me thinking somehow [sp]shepard is back[/sp]
I'm just going to crosspost this. (Not dissing Mass Effect by the way)
These are Turian ships, colour these black and put more blue lights on them and they look like the ones in that Old Republic trailer. [t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/XlMJLpEi5bg/maxresdefault.jpg[/t] Prothean's left, new star wars characters right [t]http://puu.sh/iq7WS/42c084bfe6.png[/t] And there we go [t]http://puu.sh/iq87o/777f0df6c4.png[/t] Telltale signs of an overworked art team. Are they wearing the same armor? [sp]I'm not serious but still, proving my point[/sp] [t]http://puu.sh/iq95X/338a9336f2.png[/t] Sorry, that last one has Star wars on left and Mass Effect on right Oh yeah and that Star Wars footage is 2 years old.. so bioware stole from bioware austin?
so bioware stole from bioware austin?
I'm just saying that maybe they need to let their artists into the sunlight for a bit.
The Mass Effect Andromeda trailer we saw from E3 is a 'visual target' of what they want to achieve with Frostbite, so not actual gameplay or graphics. Also: http://blog.bioware.com/2015/06/15/introducing-mass-effect-andromeda/

Last I heard it was taking place around the same time. Super pumped to find out more though, can't wait.
Is that new? Last I heard it was taking place around the same time. Super pumped to find out more though, can't wait.
Maybe it takes a while to get to a new galaxy.
Is that new? Last I heard it was taking place around the same time. Super pumped to find out more though, can't wait.
That wouldn't really make sense considering the first trilogy took part in the Milky Way and Extragalactic Travel wasn't ever discussed.
That wouldn't really make sense considering the first trilogy took part in the Milky Way and Extragalactic Travel wasn't ever discussed.
Sure doesn't look like they were using relay travel in that trailer. But whatever. It's too far out and there's too much on the horizon for me to get hyped at all for another Mass Effect.
the helmeted guy has me thinking somehow [sp]shepard is back[/sp]
I really, really hope that isn't true.
Not really feeling the new Mass Effect after that trailer, to be honest.
As long as they keep the basics of Vanguard gameplay I'll happily play this.
I just want to know what the game has to offer, story- and lore-wise.
Looks like the leaks are turning out to be more and more true?
They've been known to be true since they came out.
holiday
Anywhere from late October to late December, they're specifically targeting a much wider revenue venue this time as the salt pile from last time is still rather large.
same time
several hundred years later is a rather long time, not even accounting for distance dilation.
ending
Other than day one DLC armor/weapon choices, that would be kind of stupid to do. Rubbing fan's noses in smug isn't the way you rebuild a dented franchise. Honestly those expecting Sovereign levels of awesome are in for nothing but disappointment. This is essentially "see guys we can still totally do that thing we did", and that's about as far you can expect the story to progress. Combat on the other hand, looks to be as great as it ever was, and frankly that's all I care about other than getting all the races represented in MP/campaign Co-Op. The only real issue is performance and bugs and how mercenary they feel like making the upgrade paths. I'd say they might have learned a couple lessons on what not to do with DA:I's absurd monetization scheme, but this company has an amazing level of insulation wherein the people who should be getting actionable feedback often don't, and the forums are quite literally there for marketing to cherrypick sunshine and rainbows at their sole discretion. Time will tell.
I thought the trailer was pretty cool, but the fact that their first reveal of anything that could remotely be related to gameplay was of battle and not story/character related stuff has me a little weary.
You will not be playing as the guy in the N7 armor by the way. Maybe as a way to preserve humanity when the reapers were a threat they initiated this secret 'Andromeda' quest. Travel to another galaxy and colonize it.
They've been known to be true since they came out. BIG OL LOTS OF STUFF Time will tell.
Not much I can say to that in all honesty, I guess we'll see what happens, I'm not expecting much, man. I really don't expect much from things like the over-arcing story, but I don't mind a more grounded story if it deals with things compellingly, so I guess we'll see what happens. I think its the best they can do after ME3, its endings weren't the best and even if they were good, they were very definite endings. So I'm really not surprised by statements like this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. By the way for anyone looking for that quote's source http://blog.bioware.com/2015/06/15/introducing-mass-effect-andromeda/
Even if it takes place a long time after the first one, at least one of the endings will have an effect no matter what. Changing the DNA of all sentient life in the Galaxy would have to carry across. Something like that doesn't really wear off - if they wrote in some sort of cure then that would just be shitty. The only way they could escape that issue is if the game is all about colonisation and a bunch of N7 units were put into some sort of cryosleep and sent to andromeda some time before the original trilogy.
I think that is the point though, the endings have no effect because the game is set in a new galaxy and a very long time after them, its evident they are trying to avoid stepping on the endings. So at most, I expect either nothing at all, or a few small mentions, but I think for all intents and purposes, this seems to be basically a reboot of the series.
Are the humans fighting turians in the trailer?
naw, they look like sangheli. must be them 'Khet' gits mentioned in the leak
I'll be honest, this new Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn't interest me as much as it should The main premise of the plot doesn't ring compelling or engaging and the whole game seems to be built on the gameplay structure of Dragon Age: Inquisition: as to say, MMORPG-ish single player RPG approach with some app-like shit thrown in the mix I really don't know
You could see Krogans in the trailer, on the side of the protagonist.
Our galaxy is dying and the only way to save it is going to Andromeda to find something in there that can save everything. Calling it now. That or they get stuck in Andromeda in the middle of some kind of war and the whole game is about them trying to go back home.
Our galaxy is dying and the only way to save it is going to Andromeda to find something in there that can save everything. Calling it now.
Or preparing the Andromeda for colonization by searching/pacifying planets and establishing/protecting the existing communities.
I might very well build my first desktop for this *so excite*!
