Huh? what? when? where?
-Decision that ME3-> "can't be fixed" and is thus ignored by senior staff -Expansion of the Skinner Box paradigms from MP into SP and furthering of usage in MP, which incidentally creates a literal "pay to win" mechanic via better weapons, gear and characters -"New Saren" is going to be polarizing as hell, either people will love or hate the dynamic (and frankly hate will probably be the outcome, if you have to babysit/boss-nanny the new enemy faction with an "anti-Ryder", exactly how strong is the enemy characterization to begin with.. that said the Geth did turn out to be fully fleshed by the end, but that's not necessarily a guarantee) -Emphasis on how Frostbite looks over how well BW has implemented Storyteller into it. -Various staff changes, tweaks and caveats -Schizophrenic love/hate over core fanbase -lots and lots of political bullshit "everyone smiles and loves you here, but you can never leave" -Game has already been mechanically downgraded twice owing to a particular platform not keeping up, just like PS3/360 issues past (while people point to Battlefront for fidelity, 'Front is an incredibly generic game with an incredibly generic mechanical base, Andromeda is not the same beast at all) -Insistence on using super unpopular design motifs found in Dragon Age, cause LALALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALA
Source, 27X? [editline]6th January 2016[/editline] Your buddies at Bioware?
-Schizophrenic love/hate over core fanbase
To be fair, doesn't the majority of their core fanbase hate them anyway?
After what they did with ME3 they totally fucking deserve it.
Yeah, but I mean hasn't this same thing been going on since DA2?
Yeah, but I mean hasn't this same thing been going on since DA2?
To a lesser extent, yes.
There's a LOT wrong with ME3 beside the ending. Most side quests, the shift in dialogue to having only paragon or renegade options, pretty much everything to do with Cerberus, the dumb merging of the codex and the journal, janky animations all over, and just low quality assets all around. There are probably other problems I forgot too. Mass Effect 3 has great combat and a few really good levels, but the quality of everything else is all over the place.
My personal pet peeve was Kai Leng. Totally killed the experience for me every time he was on screen.
To be fair, doesn't the majority of their core fanbase hate them anyway?
Social doesn't speak for everyone, but their level of insulation is not doing them any kind of favors, either.

Mass Effect 2's 6th anniversary is today. There's also these Sam Hulick tracks that sound very Mass Effect https://loudr.fm/release/otherworldly/KrXCp
Uhhh, I have a quick question that I couldn't really find a good answer on. I imported femshep that romanced Kaiden from 1 to 2. Will following Kelly's romance path affect what happens in 3?

You should be able to resume the romance with Kaiden with no problem, when he gives you the choice.

Two new interesting mods for ME3: http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/411/? http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/412/? Slowly but surely, the community is improving ME3.

Yes, we’re building the best of what we all love about Mass Effect – amazing stories, characters and fun third-person shooter combat – and bringing them along with us on the expedition to Andromeda. But we’re also excited to be introducing new features and ways you can enjoy a Mass Effect game. • More Freedom: One of our biggest ambitions is to give players an unprecedented level of freedom for a Mass Effect experience –where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how you’ll play. • New Uncharted Worlds: We’re leaving the Milky Way behind and headed to Andromeda, where we’ll meet new allies, confront new enemies, and explore fascinating new worlds. • The Next Great Mass Effect Experience: Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game for today’s consoles and the first built on the Frostbite engine. We’re pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history. As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017. We can’t wait to show you how far we’re all going to go. We’ll see you at the EA PLAY press conference on June 12, with an update. Thank you for your patience and support.
That's awfully vague
after mass effect 3 and dragon age: inquisition i hope they dont fuck this up and chances are they will. not to mention that last mass effect novel that was one big lore error printed on paper. its a shame since mass effect 1 and 2 were fantastic games, i really loved the first one despite clunky mechanics it had that amazing atmosphere, rich backstory and codex entries, maco climbing was fun and some of the planets felt so desolate and lonely almost as if you were really there and it was just one of those games that only come out once in a while like witcher 3
Until June 12th rolls around, I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic. [editline]11th May 2016[/editline] Or at least until 27X comes in and says they're fucking it all up
game over man, game over
My advice is place your faith in MP, and keep your expectations very very VERY grounded for SP, aside from graphics.
Ah, I knew they were going to delay that. For once I gotta agree with 27X though: my SP hopes aren't very high, but I hope it's not the end of the series as we love it.
Even though I got a bible of minor nitpicks across the series as a whole, I don't want Andromeda to be another nail in the coffin. Mass Effect has so much potential as a setting and I'd absolutely hate to see it bite the dust because it was handled shittily
I really hope the next game doesn't go for the "super advanced special technology that no one else had" sort of route for the humans/species that leave on the ARK and what they take with them. There was a Carnifex pistol in the announcement trailer so hopefully that means it'll just be more of the same sort of technology and equipment as the previous games. Obviously they have to introduce new things but i don't think there should really be anything objectively superior to everything else seen before.
My only wish is that the gameplay is like Mass Effect 3 but with more guns, enemies, vehicles and new places to visit. You can like ME 1 all you want, but the actual gunplay was either boring or annoying, based mostly on how hi leveled you were. ME 2 was better in that regard, but you would have to buy DLC's if you wanted more that about 2 weapons per slot.
Keep ME3 gameplay but better animations.
Honestly, I don't know what they are going to do with Mass Effect now that the unique trilogy approach is done and the series has become basically another Dragon Age (as in, in each game you take control of a different character)
I can't say for sure but if that leaked questionnaire is true (and some of the leaked details seem to support it being true) then expect it to basically be Mass Effect 1, but all the old characters are gone, and instead of the reapers its about finding an "ancient civilization's tech and weaponry" and you fight some mysterious faction and shit. I forgot most of the details and I can find the questionnaire again but really it seems very play it safe. Can I blame them? No, Bioware fucked up huge and its Bioware Montreal's job to save the flaming wreck. (different studios)
Not different studios. Actually sharing staff for both 3 and A, namely a chunk of the people who made MP are directly in charge of the entire game now. The largest shift aside from the engine is the writing staff. 3 wasn't developed in an Edmonton vacuum, and A isn't being developed in a Montreal vacuum.

Either way I guess now we just sit here and wait.
Is there any way I can save Mordin and not cure the genophage? Also the official press releases about Andromeda make me nervous.
