What press releases are they?
What press releases are they?
The whole 'we're changing everything' vibe I'm getting. I know they promised old favorites and the combat system will be 'built on ME3' but that still puts me on edge knowing EA's recent modus operandi.

[sp]Kill Wrex in 1 so Wreav is leading and destroy the cure in 2 so Eve dies. You can persuade Mordin that Wreav is leading the Krogan similar to how they were pre-genophage, he just fucks off afterwards but doesn't die.[/sp]
Not sure if I should've spoiler'd it or not but yeah.

I'm pretty sure people are going to take one look at the new graphics, and forgive everything about the series because people are fucking stupid like that, despite the story shaping up to be a mess.
There might be a reveal today:
"Last week, Bioware’s TorbJos confirmed that the development team is reviewing the missions they have been working on last month. The developer expressed his anxiety toward the process, saying, “That hope that there isn’t any bugs that weren’t there in your own tests, the dread that something might unexpectedly break for no reason.” Later, a tweet from his official account read, “After a long week, things are in the right place. I am relieved.” Mass Effect Andromeda producer Michael Gamble later joined TorbJos and revealed that Bioware is planning to do something on Tuesday. Gamble brilliantly kept the details under wraps by saying, “very much looking forward to Tuesday.”
It could also be nothing.

It's not like the story has to be amazing, most people are going to compare it to 3 after all.
As long as it's coherent and somewhat different for Paragon/Renegade play styles then it should be fine.

"Somewhat coherent" is not how the series made its mark. If it's not good enough the game is not gonna be worth a lot.

Doesn't help that Bioware's reputation is still shaky after Mass Effect 3. They recovered a bit with Inquisition, but they're really going to have to pull off something remarkable with Andromeda to get the fans back.

It was uh, tuesday and nothing happened.
I almost wonder... Surprise E3 shit?
I was told, though this is third-hand information, that the 'Tuesday' mention was in fact an internal BioWare meeting showing off a mission. We'll probably still have to wait until E3
A writer I like, Shamus Young, has been doing a long-running retrospective on the entire Mass Effect trilogy, and he wrote the final entry last week. I'm not a regular of the ME thread on Facepunch but I skimmed through the last ten pages of the thread and didn't see it mentioned, and I thought some of you all would be interested in it.

It's a long series--novel-length, really--and it focuses on writing/storytelling more than gameplay mechanics, and he really tears the game's writing to shreds from 2 onward, so your mileage may vary if you liked the writing in 2/3. Still, I found it insightful and entertaining, so give it a read if you can find the time.
E3 news when.
E3 news when.
Well EA's press conference starts in 6 and a half hours so we'll probably hear something about Andromeda then.
Awesome footage from EA Play.
I mean, graphically it looked good
but I wanted MORE
I'm sort of underwhelmed. It looked nice, but I was hoping to at least hear something about the premise of the game. Looks like we'll be waiting for N7 day then. :/
anyone got footage? I must've missed it
I truly wonder if EA told Bioware to cut short for more SPURTZ

was there anything else revealed, or just this?
The actual >sample< mission will be press only, and prolly trickle out way later.
After the last outing they're going to full on bullshit advance marketing for maximum positivity.

Where was this said? I've been keeping my eye on this for a while and I haven't heard of press only gameplay footage anywhere.
They tweeted the mission finalization two weeks ago.
I just want the writing to be better. It could be ME1 shooting for all I care- Just make sure the story and characters are interesting and make sense.

If they continue like they did with the previous games (sans ending) then the characters will hopefully once again be amazing. ME character focus is one of its strongest points.
Tali <3
Even ME3 had some good new squadmates, so I'd be optimistic about it. Vega was great.
Never got far in me2 campaign and i didn't even try me3. So now i am doing the entire series from 1 to 3. Completed first one today, took like 15 hours since i was doing all kinds of side missions. In fact i didn't even finish all of them. So just started me2 fresh from one, and for some reason i now really hate batarians. Might be because of the mission where i had to kill batarian terrorists who planned to kill millions.
I got to say they managed to put a lot of minor things i did in 1 to 2. Nice addition since i spent so much time completing first one.
Do people still play the multiplayer on PC?

Nice to see Bioware's animation department still sucks ass.
