It's like the original trilogy all over again. To this very day, I don't know if having romanced this instead of that was the "perfect" course of action
I think they really wanted you to choose Liara, because in ME3 hers seemed the "steamiest" when it came to the cutscene.
Also, one of the Squaddies is a Krogan Female
I'm late, but she's not a squadmate. She's just part of the Nexus leadership.

The issue here is that Liara in Mass Effect 3 blurs the line between "one of my oldest, most faithful companion" and "my implied love interest" far too often. I mean, her last scene in Mass Effect 3 (sans The Extended Cut) is about her downright raping you (as far as her species' biology is concerned)
doesn't she ask for shepard's consent beforehand?
P much around the 14 minute mark
I really like Liara's progression through the 3 games though. She starts off as this bumbling archeologist who gets herself stuck in a prothean booby trap, and then not only becomes the freaking shadow broker but excels at it. Her story was always more interesting to me than most of the other squadmates.
IMO Liara's progression from ME1 to ME2 and beyond just felt jarring and unbelievable.
IMO Liara's progression from ME1 to ME2 and beyond just felt jarring and unbelievable.
Lair of the Shadow Broker helped by making it so the cold, ruthless thing is largely a facade she puts on to keep herself somewhat safe. Personally I think romancing Liara makes for the best story overall, as she's the only love interest with a consistent importance to the plot.
only because you can't fuck wrex
only because you can't fuck wrex
I don't know if you [sp]sabotage the genophage[/sp] in ME3 he gets fucked pretty hard.
I missed the shy, awkward and geeky liara in 2 and 3
I missed the shy, awkward and geeky liara in 2 and 3
Tali took that role in ME2 and ME3.
Tali took that role in ME2 and ME3.
Tali wanted the dick hard in ME2
I didn't mind Liara in 1 or 2, but the fact that she does feel very forced on you in 3 just really put me off. Especially since the only way to avoid her "closest friend" bullshit is to fuck someone else, it really makes a fuckless playthrough extra annoying.

She assumes the identity of the Shadow Broker, but there are reports that she isn't as efficient as him. It's pretty clear that her agents realize something's up but don't dare ask her about it.
Could be. I just played it, but my memory sucks. I sorta remember a conversation between Shepard and her near the start of 3 where she says its going really well? [editline]12th January 2017[/editline] Wiki just says The old Broker, according to the Illusive Man's assessment, kept his subjects in line through fear. In the galactic black market, people are beginning to sense that the Shadow Broker is "going soft."
Then again, it is TIM adressing his most significant rival, after consistent acts of sabotage and attempted murder. Still, the way I understood it, Liara got a crush on Shepard no matter if it was reciprocal or not, and kinda acted on that. That thing tends to happen.
Is Arrival a good DLC? I've played through the games quite a few times but never bought it or a few others for whatever reason. Playing through 1 right now and considering getting one or two of the sidestories I've never played before. The only one I actually have is Shadow Broker.

It definitely feels like you're missing something if you start Mass Effect 3 after ME2 without first playing Arrival –•plus, the soundtrack is really great, too.

Arrival is absolutely lackluster when it comes to gameplay and characters, but, as mentioned by the people above me, sets up the necessary gap between the second and the third game and there's an interesting conversation in it
I kinda felt like the last portion was a bit too long. A bunch of solo Shepard combat got old really quickly especially with the Project mobs. Neat concept though, to be squad-less. Especially since the previous ME2 DLC made your squadmates mute anyway.
You'd want Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival for 2, and Leviathan and Citadel for 3, if you don't want to miss on the story and characters. Bring Down the Sky, Overlord and Omega are more like side stories And fuck the project pyros. The concept and difficulty was quite neat, tho.
How did you forget From Ashes
Derp, assumed the extra squadmate DLC were no-brainers.

Bring Down the Sky was good too, but I only remember getting it because it was dirt cheap on the Xbox Live store, less than a dollar iirc.
Bring Down The Sky is IIRC free on PC. Doesn't really have much of an impact, but its an extra hour or so of gameplay and experience. Overlord is damn fine; atmospheric as fuck as well, but it is self-contained. And Omega, well, you ought to dwell into the EU to get a better image of what's going on. Repurpossed material from the base game turned into a loooong mission. Oh well, at least we got female Turians with it. But it should had been more like Citadel, and include a new hub area at the very least. Still, you can get a fuckton of experience playing through it.

Arrival is mostly a "how OP is your build" with a side of indoctrination thrown in. Since literally two scenes in 3 reference it, one of which is entirely optional, as a plot vehicle it's utterly meaningless.
I forgot how silly endgame ME1 is. You're basically unstoppable if you know what you're doing. Also, thank you for the DLC responses. Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station were pretty cool. Though Pinnacle Station's weapons convoy thing kinda trivialized the last parts of the game even more with its easy X weapons. That final simulation was kind of a pain though. I've decided I'll definitely get Arrival and probably a couple of the ME3 DLCs like Citadel and Leviathan. Looking forward to them. [editline]17th January 2017[/editline] Also Hades Gamma Cluster is a fucking shithole.
