Mass Effect Megathread: He said "I should go." Do I sound like that?

I had completely forgotten how you just drive a Mako through the conduit into the Citadel in the first game, and I still just love the ridiculousness of that.
considering how small it was compared to the collector base (which seemed about the size of a reaper dreadnought?) I just assumed it'd be the core or embedded inside the superstructure of the cuttlefish shell all reapers have
I'm pretty sure that was the given explanation in the artbook. Logically it doesn't make a lick of sense, but I still remember it being a creepy boss fight the first time around, so it gets some points for that.

Unlikely as they were created by the reaper war and their time of leaving is set in between mass effect 2 and it's ending, which is genuinely strange that during the game you never hear of the event from anyone or anywhere in the game.
Regardless, I don't expect we'll be seeing any of the toys from the reaper war in the new game.
I'd like to see the Arc Pistol among other Quarian weapons.

I love that section, but I loved practically everything about ME1.
The Reapers preserve species as data, but require destructive analysis of the sample for upload.
Well, guess that was to be expected to be a logical conclusion for a flawed AI programmed by a race of pompous assholes, and whose first construct was based on said pompous assholes, and every subsequent construct was based on such.
I kinda like it more than unexplained eldritch machine gods. It is sci-fi, if psychokinesis has an explanation, so do the elder gods.
I never understood why the reapers didn't act as caretakers, instead of engines of war. It seems simpler to act as guardians of the peace and help all species both synthetic and flesh.
If you've got all powerful peace keepers floating around enforcing the peace, races that want to war will first have to break down the defenses of the reapers before being able to war with others.
It just goes to show Synthetics are faulty robots that need to be PURGED

The first Reaper, Harbinger, is based on the Leviathan. The Leviathan saw themselves as the pinnacle of existence, and other species as inferior and potential thralls. Subsequent Reapers were based on Harbinger, and the Catalyst, and thus Reaper mission control, saw reaperification as a fine way of species preservation.
So yeah, the asshole cuttlefish race is a neat explanation.

Because it made them actually seem like they potentially could be the good guys if Bioware went with the whole "Dark matter is destroying the Universe and when we Reapers do our reapening we prevent the dark matter from actually destroying existence for another 50,000 years." Instead we got some faulty circular logic.
I really don't like the default look of Scott. That kinda sucks, honestly. I loved both default Shepards, but the male Ryder looks like a rejected Nathan Drake clone.
So shouldn't they be announcing the MP beta soon???
Yes, but it's console only.

People on reddit saying that's cause of a slight fisheye lens effect, since they look fine in other footage.
Plus arms are slightly bent so obv they don't reach down as far
Except it has nothing to with a fisheye effect, as the VGA trailer showed rather clearly.
FemRyder still has a weird ass face

Actually, ME3 has the same problem for FemShep at the very least. Did no one else notice it?

Doesn't it look wrong?
Femsheps arms in ME3 are uncomfortably skinny for a soldier

Of course she is, she's not a gigerian nightmare of teeth and abs
The Mass Effect save import functions are fucking amazing. My latest Shepard went from a slightly sickly, mean-looking asshole in ME1 to sort of mean-looking mom in ME2 to just I don't even know what the fuck happened in ME3. Didn't take an image from the first one, but from 2 to 3 it looks like this.

At least 3 allows you to change the imported face so I can sorta try to fix it but it still just looks so, so wrong. Better this than my first playthrough, though, back when it was released and face imports literally just didn't work so I had to go with some weird guy who looked like a weird porn-version of my original, fucked up looking Shepard.
Quick question for anyone who might currently be playing Mass Effect 3, and pre-ordered it back in the day (The N7 Warfare Pack) Do you have the N7 Defender Armor in your game?
The N7 Valkyrie and M-55 Argus are there (Most likely since they also are available the the Omega and Leviathan DLC's) but the armor seems to be no where to be found.
You can get it via save editor. IIRC.
I'm only asking since i did pre-order the game back in the day, and i recently started a playthrough of the ME games and just noticed it weren't in my armory, and was interrested in knowing if it was a more comment problem, as in a balls up on EA's servers part or similar.
Femshep should have been just shredded, she would look so much better than whatever was up with her model. Like go look at the girl from Citadel, her model is night and day better than Shepards
