Do you people think they'll name drop Shepard in ME:A?

Well considering they were the presented as great hero of humanity who then mysteriously came back from the dead around about the time they were leaving I'd be surprised if we didn't get a few namedrops

Jesus, lmao
They have a good sense of humor I see.
It's not between ME2 and 3.
Wait, I thought it began in 2185, the same year as ME2 takes place, when is it set then?
the ship leaves between ME2 and 3, and arrives in Andromeda 600(?) years later
They can't talk about the more specifics though, like did Shepard encounter Cerberus, or what he/she do to the Council.
I think it would be a hilarious nod to the previous games if every time two people were mentioning shepherd, nobody could remember whether it was a guy/girl or if they were a asshole/nice.

I like this idea of all these conflicting rumours, stories and legends going about in the ranks that no one can can agree on any of the details
Then the myriad of rumors about their sex life
Okay that's actually a genuinely good idea as long as it isn't handled poorly. Which, knowing BioWare, it either isn't in the game or is handled poorly :v:

Considering that on one of the hub ships there's an archive of the Milky Way Galaxy races' history, I'm sure they will do something like the Citadel archives in the Citadel DLC. That is, having a section about Commander Shepard being the first human Spectre, hunting rogue Spectre Saren, and ending with his death. Then Ryder and/or company making a brief comment.
That or the data file on Shepard will be corrupted a la ME1.
[editline]23rd February 2017[/editline]
Which will probably lead to a scene where you have to input the data as the technician asks you the pertinent questions.
They did insist on calling them "The Shepard" at the end of ME3, so the idea of being a revered albeit vague legend is reasonably implied within the narrative.
Somehow I doubt the execution will be that clean, though.
Can we romance the female Turian squad member?
Not sure if this is new info, but Natalie Dormer plays the ship doctor. Neat.

Gethin Anthony also plays a character according to that.
So the PCGamer preview of Mass Effect Andromeda has come and while I'm not particularly keen on PCGamer, I decided to read up on their thoughts anyway. Really, though, one sentence caught my eye and is really all I needed from this to gain a little bit of confidence about the whole game.
But what makes me optimistic is which Mass Effect it feels most like: the first one.
And that's pretty much all I've been asking of the new game. As gameplay goes, it couldn't be farther apart from the gameplay of the first from what we've seen, but honestly what made the first one so goddamn special wasn't the story or the characters, etc. The feeling of the first one was the hook that always catches me. No matter how many times I boot it up, I just want to play it. And if it's truly there with Andromeda, I will be really, really pleased.
I was pretty disappointed to hear how they handle first contact though. Not surprised but still a total letdown.

Well, the developers said that they took inspiration from each of the games from the trilogy, ME1's vastness and exploration, ME2's loyalty missions, and ME3's gameplay.
I fucking hope somebody calls Lexi "T-Dog" at some point

This is the only question I have about the game at the this point
Can we romance the female Turian squad member?
You can flirt with every character but it is unclear if you can romance her. I heard from a few posts (so a rumor, really) is that she is a romance for both genders

If I recally correctly, they have stated that there is more variety in relationships and, as far as the sex goes, it's not exclusive to a romantic relationship. So, I think at the very least you can get a fuck buddy.

It'd certainly be a first. And very clumsy. And you'd probably need to visit the infirmary afterwards.

He's about 1400 years old so he'd probably end up in the infirmary as well.
Doctor Bashir would probably have a thing or two to say about that.

krogan are functionally immortal.
Krogan seem to lack senectude; they don't die, they are killed.
