Jesus, Frostbite Engine, I'm pretty sure they've cheated at life really, like somewhere in the Universe, there's a tear and it's because of the Frostbite Engine.
I just tried out SWTOR hoping to find something at least vaguely like KOTOR.
I spent the entire afternoon and all night playing hoping for it to get better but it did not. Go here and get this item and come back. Okay, now go there and get that item and come back. Hey can you go and get these four items so we can get a different item on the next mission?
It doesn't help that every destination is separated by 20 minutes of walking. The conversion interactions seem to have no outcome whatsoever, unlike KOTOR. I find myself just mashing the 1 key because it doesn't matter what I say anyways.
I tried sinking a fair amount of time into it for it to get better but I'm not seeing it.
Is this game shit or have I not given it enough time?
I'll be honest, there are huge discrepancies between classes. What class did you choose?
I find the best from my playthroughs were playing lightside-oriented Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent. Those actually felt pretty great. You just didn't get cutscene quality from singleplayer AAA titles.
sith inquisitor is one of the poorer storylines.
yeah each class has its own god damn story line, with branching choices in some cases so you might end up playing each class TWICE
imperial agent is unanimously considered the best story and i have to agree
sometimes swtor stories are fun, other times they're obvious power fantasies, other times its just a slog. Especially since every class basically shares the exact same planets, so doing them back to back is impossible for someone like me.
Inquisitor bar none is best played as a female and light sided.
The VA delivers just some the most perfect deadpanned sarcasm coupled with everyone in the story being absolutely fucking confused at how you operate. Hell any of the alignments for the Inquisitor honestly make you out to be nutters.
Provided you like Ciri from the Witcher do a female agent. Think Ciri but in space.
[sp]Chiss are the best agents[/sp]
Another Battlefront 2 screenshot. This is an Inferno Squad TIE fighter, you can just make out the 3 red stripes on the right side.

Is that the Scarif shield gate?
No, it is shipyard over Fondor.
The shipyard's design is similar, but has completely different pieces.

Ah, darn. I was hopign we'd see a post rogue one Scarif
I'd love to see the Kuat shipyards in a game.

How would that even work considering a shark buoy crashed a Star Destroyer into the station?

We're talking about the faction that, immediately after its massive moon-sized space station superweapon was blown up, began work on an even bigger space-station superweapon.

In their defense, both times they got blown the fuck up was down to some really shit luck. The Death Star was a pretty solid plan overall which would have worked if Luke hadn't used the force to get that one in a million shot and getting caught with their pants down the 2nd time.
I don't think Starkiller Base getting blown up was down to shit luck, it was down to shit defence, I mean seriously, you've got a planet sized super weapon and a couple of X-Wings just fly to it, blow some shit up then boom, shit gets rekt? Nah, the First Order haven't learnt shit.
The shield was suppose to keep them out.
The shield was suppose to keep them out.
Indeed. Had Han, Finn and Chewie not got there first to disable the planetary shield, they would have never gotten in.
The First Order didn't account for somebody being crazy enough to attempt a lightspeed landing on the planet, because nobody would be stupid enough to try it.
and the only reason their plan even worked was because one of the FO's top commanders immediately went "welp fuck this" and lowered the shields for them the moment they captured her.

That was... interesting. For all her bluster of "my troops will storm this block", all she had to do was trip an alarm in the guise of lowering the shields. They might have killed her, but at the end of the day they wouldn't have escaped and the base would not have been destroyed.
Unless the plan was to draw them in on purpose of course, but that's not indicated in the film.

That really bothered me when I first saw TFA. They build up Phasma as this super loyal uber soldier, but then she just gives in and does what they want. You'd think she'd die before conceding to Resistance scum and traitors and endanger the First Order.

Interesting though: what if she turns out to be a double-agent? Though I don't see them going for that.

I don't think so. I think in the new movie she's going to fill the same role Boba Fett had in Empire. She'll have survived but she'll be disgraced and tasked with tracking down Rey for Khylo Ren/Snoke and it'll end in a confrontation (maybe with Phasma calling in Khylo and him and Rey having character development) and Rey will let herself be taken so she can meet Snoke and lead in for a switcheroo in the 9th movie where Finn and friends have to go rescue Rey.
Stuff like that bugs me in so many movies it's not funny. When captured by the enemy, why do people not feed them false information, or better yet, give them information that will lead the enemy forces into a situation where their allies can wreck them?
Okay sure, you might get killed. But you were probably going to be imprisoned/tortured/killed anyway, so why would you want the lives of numerous friends and allies on your conscious?

In other words Empire Strikes Back but rather than being frozen, lets herself be captured to meet leader.
And then Return of the Jedi 2 but I don't think Rey is gonna don a gold bikini...?

I want to have hope the new movies will go in a completely different direction, but hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
I have faith in Rian Johnson
People can calm down about BFII singeplayer, Inferno Squad book is up and Iden Versio is a hardcore imperial, even going so far as calling Alderaan "glorious rebel rubble"

Vader was a hardcore Imperial too. Didn't stop him throwing his master down a shaft. There are likely circumstances we have no idea about in this game. I would wager that she still views her time in the Empire as right.
I had a feeling Iden is going to be 100% an Imperial all the way through. It will be interesting to play what looks like a villain in a game that DOESN'T switch sides after a string of horrible acts or a sob story. I think its a breath of fresh air. It almost sounds like [sp]Spec Ops: The Line except the character is 100% of their actions and is justified in doing them.[/sp]
The fact they keep putting emphasis on Iden being diehard Imperial in all the interviews and media makes me think that is the route they're going.

Same guy wrote both, so Im honestly not surprised if thats the route they take. Its honestly what I excepted when I heard that that guy was writing the story. A subversion of the "Rebels good heroes, Empire bad villains". Honestly, because of the shot with [sp] Luke and that other guy in Iden's squad, I think Luke is going to kill him and further cement her hatred for the Rebels/New Republic[/sp]
