Ah, that looks pretty good then, I hope that means we can be massive dicks and just camp an area with our 0 recoil lazer cannon.

the FWMB-10 was in the Alpha/E3 videos, so you can get a general impression if anyone actually used it. I don't think you could use the stand? It is basically a First Order version of the T-21 I think.
Resistance Specialist [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGZo5ENVYAAVjKz.jpg:large[/t] Rebel Specialist: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGZo5M9UQAA4qEd.jpg:large[/t] Tomorrow they'll be showing off officers.
Still wish there was something more to distinguish Resistance from Rebellion ground troops.
Still wish there was something more to distinguish Resistance from Rebellion ground troops.
You'd think the resistance would look more military.
Both groups are unofficial, working with scraps and outdated equipment. [editline]4th August 2017[/editline] Anyone recognize the Resistance rifle?
Both groups are unofficial, working with scraps and outdated equipment. [editline]4th August 2017[/editline] Anyone recognize the Resistance rifle?
The difference is the Rebellion is...a rebellion, that eventually becomes a uniform fighting force, while the Resistance appears to be more like a PMC run by Leia for stopping the First Order. Unless I understood it wrong.
They're still not an official group. The New Republic doesn't recognize them. But they secretly give them outdated military surplus.
Still wish there was something more to distinguish Resistance from Rebellion ground troops.
Its things like this that remind me I wish they had just gone with the New Republic vs First Order as the factions of these films. Would've been a good way to lessen the idea that these films are recycling the original trilogy with a new coat of paint.
CIS Battle Droid Officer: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGeyeg6UwAAeGfD.jpg:large[/t] Republic Naval Officer [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGeyerKUQAA2LTt.jpg:large[/t] [editline]5th August 2017[/editline] Ah, that Resistance sniper rifle is the A180 in sniper mode.
I so can't wait to play a specialist. Finally a viable sniper build. Scout pistol works like an actual sidearm and not a dumb cooldown so you're not hosed if someone gets in close. And they get trip mines, which I've had no end of joy using in the last game.
Republic Naval Officer [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGeyerKUQAA2LTt.jpg:large[/t]
I love Dee Bradley Baker's clone voice, but knowing it's coming out of the Officer who has a pretty damn realistic face of Temura Morrision is just uncanny :s:
I love Dee Bradley Baker's clone voice, but knowing it's coming out of the Officer who has a pretty damn realistic face of Temura Morrision is just uncanny :s:
Apparently the Officer's voice sounds more like Steven Blum than Dee Bradley Baker. But I haven't heard the Officer's lines yet, so I can't say whether that is just a mis-hearing. I'd take Steven Blum as the Stormtroopers though, given he's done it before and he sounds pretty good at it (good enough that they got him as one of the voices in Rogue One for Stormtroopers). Another choice would be David Collins, who voiced the Stormtroopers in the first Battlefront.
My favourite stormtrooper voice is whoever it was that voiced them in the Jedi Knight series.
how does an officer droid even work, they're droids aren't they usually directly commanded by a tactical droid from somewhere far away edit: oh right, OOMs exist. Still, the idea of droids needing a squad leader is pretty funny
I found it weird they existed in EP1 when they were all directed by a central computer, but after they scrapped that idea in the later productions it made sense
Been playing through the Jedi Knight series, only really played parts of 2. Almost done with Dark Forces, then onto Dark Forces 2!
Sam Witwer is going to be streaming Force Unleashed with the Lead Writer and Project Lead Haden Blackman, and David Collins (who voiced Proxy and Jabba the Hutt) at 1 PM Eastern, 10AM Pacific. That is about 22 minutes from now. https://www.twitch.tv/samwitwer/p/3ae66ca2-c975-4453-be3b-7c28d025577d

The 3rd game in that series, Jedi Outcast is my favorite of Kyle Katarn's gaming saga. Even though I'd argue the game after has better gameplay, I love Outcast's story Side rant: God I miss Kyle Katarn as a character. I'm still miffed he's essentially been retconned/replaced by Kanan Jarrus. Though the trade off is we get Hera instead of Jan, though that's probably my Twi'lek bias talking :v:

Kyle could easily fit in the new canon if you ignore the Death Star plans plot. Though him becoming a Jedi, I'm not sure if that could work. Just keep him as a Smuggler/occasional Rebel spy. [editline]6th August 2017[/editline] The Force Unleashed stream is live.
Oh I know story/personality wise not really. I just remember a video or article somewhere about Dave Filoni taking inspiration for some of the design choices when making the pair based off Kyle and Jan. Though I could just be remembering wrong. Though Vanessa Marshall voicing both women is a hilarious coincidence (OR IS IT?) :v: I'd be open to them being reintroduced somehow but I don't see it happening sadly. While I'm dreaming, I'd love a new game series in the vein of Dark Forces/Jedi Knight with today's tech. Or a new Star Wars rpg...SWTOR hasn't been scratching that itch for a long time...
Well Dave and the rest of Clone Wars/Rebels crew have been known to take inspiration from the games and other EU material, so I wouldn't be surprised.
I found it weird they existed in EP1 when they were all directed by a central computer, but after they scrapped that idea in the later productions it made sense
Well they're still directed by a 'droid control signal' that when shut down turned literally every droid in the CIS army off in Episode 3, right? But now that I'm thinking about it, how did those droid remnants in Rebels survive if that happened?
There was a shutdown signal, yes but it was just a shutdown command, they were not being controlled remotely.
But now that I'm thinking about it, how did those droid remnants in Rebels survive if that happened?
Kalani says in the episode how they avoided it.

This is the most 90s thing I've ever seen.

the AT-RT is weaker then the AAT, but it can do decent damage to the AAT from what I've seen in the E3 footage. There is a reference to the TX-130 tank from the original Battlefronts in the alpha files, But it was a single text line, nothing else. So no idea if it will be in the final game or not.
Very minior info on special characters, confirms First Order Flametroopers (no screenshot though) and a new image of the Deathtrooper, which I think is a new model, certainly looks better then the one from BF1. Interesting that they still haven't given the Death Trooper the correct weapon, instead arming it with the DLT-19. (One of the weapons Death Troopers carry in Rogue One is a modified, single-shot version of the DLT-19 with a scope and a pair of torches in place of the folding tripod - but that variant has never been given an official name)
