Didn't they explicitly say that the crates would only be cosmetics and boosts to unlock shit faster?
They also implied, though I don't know if they stated it outright, that the content of loot crates would be random.
Didn't they explicitly say that the crates would only be cosmetics and boosts to unlock shit faster?
Cosmetics have not even been confirmed to be a thing outside of the pre-order bonuses [editline]21st August 2017[/editline] In the alpha, crates dropped star cards and crafting parts. Crafting parts can be used to upgrade Star cards. Crates can also drop already upgraded cards. Cards have 4 levels of rarity: common, uncommon, epic and legendary. In the alpha, cards could only be upgraded to epic, legendary cards only dropped from boxes. I'm going to assume you can break down duplicate cards into crafting parts but I'm not sure
its started https://www.twitch.tv/ea [editline]21st August 2017[/editline] So Boba Fett has Seismic Charges and an Ion Cannon The Y-Wing had an Ion Cannon as well, TIE Bombers have Multi-Missiles [editline]21st August 2017[/editline] Poe's X-Wing has a AOE Buff [editline]21st August 2017[/editline] I'm going to assume the imperials can't win in this demo so all 3 phases can be shown. Just like with E3. [editline]21st August 2017[/editline]
I need to know if the Slave I's Seismic Charges actually sound like they did in Episode II, if not, literally unplayable game.
I need to know if the Slave I's Seismic Charges actually sound like they did in Episode II, if not, literally unplayable game.
Yes https://youtu.be/jpmJVU8hwj8?t=1m33s
Is the modulated voice for the rebels supposed to be Fulcrum? Sounds like it.
Yes https://youtu.be/jpmJVU8hwj8?t=1m33s
Yes, good, the game is literally playable.
Is the modulated voice for the rebels supposed to be Fulcrum? Sounds like it.
Might be. Or it could just be a weird sounding alien If it is fulcrum it might not be the ones we know
Are we seriously going to fly into stations/ships as part of the mode? Ohohoho yes that is awesome, I hope we have to fly into the Fondor Shipyard or the Lucrehulk to finish it off from the inside
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES Oh this new mode looks amazing. I want to plaaaaaaaaaaaay This is what starfighter modes should have been in the first game
Is the modulated voice for the rebels supposed to be Fulcrum? Sounds like it.
That was my guess too. Would be a nice touch if so. Also, here's a drinking game for you all if you hate yourselves: go to any video covering starfighter assault on youtube right now and scroll through the comments. For every comment you see complaining about not being able to land ships like Battlefront 2 (2005), take a shot. For every comment reply blindly agreeing with them, take 2 shots. :v:
For some reason the main forum said I was the latest poster :v: Anyways have some more BF2 voices
So, I started playing Battlefront since it was $5. Why do I suck so much, and everyone else feels overpowered? Like, I do great in Battlefield 4 with all classes. I do ok at best in BF4 and feel like some other guys take more shots to die than I do.
You're probably fighting people with upgraded star cards and unlocked traits that beef up characters depending on what's slotted.
wow that sounds really bullshit
wow that sounds really bullshit
It really is if you come in late to the party, nowadays most servers are too dead to even be able to unlock those things yourself half the time - and what's worse is you HAVE to do it in online modes, there are no star card unlocks for playing offline
wow that sounds really bullshit
Eh kinda. It's still possible to beat these people with starting equips, just takes practice. However if you're new to the game chances are they will mow you down with a combination of equipment, experience, and abusing game mechanics (side stepping left and right quickly to avoid fire ("ADAD"), combat rolling everywhere, bacta bomb to heal themselves, berserker trait to up their damage or bodyguard trait to reduce damage taken, etc). It's just a matter of learning how the game works to counter those methods and working to unlock the new gear yourself, though like the post above me said, it's harder due to the lack of players these days. But while the game can still be good fun, honestly Battlefront II is coming soon and that game looks to be a massive improvement in almost every way (they even said their looking into things like rollin and ADAD), so I find it hard to recommend Battlefront I to people lately.
Live gameplay
Fuck, BattlefrontUpdates made me panic there. I could only hear out of one ear and I thought my headset died, turns out it's on his end xD
For those wondering, Imperial NPCs now have service numbers instead of names. [editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] When they added Skirmish to BF1, all NPCs used full names, including Imperials, nice to see they changed that. I believe the names were actually taken from the original Battlefronts? [editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] From reddit
Sledgehammer our community manager for all things SW confirmed in a livestream today that unless something changes between now and release, Cross Era Hero ships will be a thing. All other ships are Era Locked.
[editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] Someone also noticed via the UI, that TIE Fighters don't have shields anymore.
Someone also noticed via the UI, that TIE Fighters don't have shields anymore.
They never had any to begin with? That being said what's the balance going to be on the fighter to fighter combat? Are TIEs going to far more agile than the Rebel fighters? Is it going to be Imperials Defenders only so they can basically say they have infinite lives.
They never had any to begin with? That being said what's the balance going to be on the fighter to fighter combat? Are TIEs going to far more agile than the Rebel fighters?
TIEs had shields in BF1 Just watch the gameplay I've been posting, you can see how they fly there.
No they didn't, the only fighter token that had shields were the XWings and it was a temp invincibility from lasers. Outside of that any other ships that had shields were Red Five and The Falcon, nobody else had shields. Hero ships like Vader and Boba just had more HP. Believe me if there were shields in previous Battlefronts including EAFront you wouldn't see some players get one shot by enemies and the ariel dogfights would be arguebly longer than anything.
TIEs had shields in BF1
Except they didn't.
How would you guys feel if Jango's Slave 1 was just a clone of Boba's? Same powers and everything?
How would you guys feel if Jango's Slave 1 was just a clone of Boba's? Same powers and everything?
Wouldn't it be a clone of Jangos? Regardless it's the exact same ship, I doubt Boba would extensive modify the ship's weapons. Besides the only we ever saw Slave-1's weapons is in AOTC, and in Empire it looks the same as it did too. The only difference between them would literally be maybe one thing.

They should have saved the Seismic Charges for whenever they do Jango and give Boba his own unique weapon. Like sure, the ships would fly the same, but I would hope they would at least give them different abilities. [editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] Hero Ships are Cross era The Falcon's Sequel Era look and sound FX is a cosmetic, we know that from the pre-order bonuses. This makes it sound like cross-era hero ships was planned since the start. They could make Jango's Slave 1 a cosmetic option for Boba's without having to make a whole new hero.

I will say something though, free DLC is a massive draw for me, I just hope the gameplay is actually good this time around
So, they don't want to do visual customization to keep it authentic to the movies, but they're doing Cross-era heroes. You're sending mixed messages here DICE.
So, they don't want to do visual customization to keep it authentic to the movies, but they're doing Cross-era heroes. They're specifically going out of their way to make an immersive, authentic experience - they even went on about how with BF1 they were using photogrammatry with the original models and such and they definitely don't seem to be trying any less to make it feel like the proper thing with the sequel. To then decide to just throw away the whole point of doing all that by shoving in the heroes in every era. It just doesn't make sense.
I got that from the interview on the last page. They used the word fantasy to describe why they're doing it. In the same interview where they used the word authenticity :v: I'm assuming they meant visual authenticity.
