Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass

Nice to see the game suffers from the Battlefield syndrome, team based, objective gamemodes.
Everyone just plays for kills instead.
Its like everyone forgets how to push or stop one guy spawn camping.

The first phase of Theed is the first time snipers are useful in a Battlefield/Battlefront game ever and you still have dudes with 30 or 40 kills just fucking off around the spawns or edges of the map instead of stopping the ion launchers.
I don't even know how you get 30 kills in this game though, I feel like every time I move forward I get picked off by a nade or something.
Had a match of GA where we destroyed the MTT at the last possible second.

I'd say that's probably because people are too busy trying all the new stuff out. A lot of people are desperately trying to get a hero but I can see that calming down as well when they notice that you're not nearly as powerful as in the last game.
Right now, I think the biggest problem with the game is that classes don't have any real purpose. Give Officers the ability to revive and Assaults the ability to put something down that reduces card cooldowns or something. Alternatively, bring back ammo packs.
I like the game but the Theed map is kinda meh. I prefer playing battles from the movies instead.
The same thing happened in the Battlefront 1 beta, no one was playing the objective for the first few days, then slowly as more people joined more people started actually playing it properly.
I'm really surprised by how much I enjoy the space combat. I have never really been a fan of the fighter assault modes in either the previous Battlefront or the original games. This is the first one where the controls feel smooth, and your fighter really feels like it can pack a punch if you are using it effectively. Absolutely loved blasting X-Wings apart as the Interceptor.
There is an abandoned Firespray on Takodana

It feels better than Battlefront 1 but not as tight as Battlefield air combat. Speaking of which, is there a specific turn speed you should stay at or does it not matter?

Okay, I get defending a game.
but holy shit dude.

It's like they replaced his face with Paul McGann's
so i got to play the beta and i gotta say im not that impressed....
movement feels like im running in a swamp with cement boots and the shooting somehow feels worse then the first game
UI sucks, the first game's was snappy had the info ready and minimalistic which i liked while this one feels bloated with unnecessary crap
optimisation is great better then the first game but the graphics has taken a hit for it(that or naboo just looks like ass)
i just dont get that "star wars" feeling like i had with the first one and lack "heart&soul"

I still see a resemblance, even it isn't exact.
I tried overriding the FOV and it definitely helps make running feel less sluggish because of how close the camera is to your character. It's not really good to do it right now though because the camera will bug out when you're playing a hero etc.
Why is the game so... grainy?
Unless I'm blind I don't see any grain?

Oh now I see it.

I had to put my eye right up to the screen though.
Is the gunship a fucking joke?
Heroes of the same era (or have also been in the same era in history) have callouts to each other
For example Maul, Palpatine and Yoda all have lines for each other.
Han has lines for Rey, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, Boba, Bossk and Lando. Though, interestingly not the Emperor or Vader. Though as this is a beta, they might be in.

Yoda has call out lines for Vader, huh.

StarLevelCategory_GrizzlyBoat
Grizzly Boat?
Also Grievous is far enough along to have Leveling data in the exe
StarLevelCategory_Grievous
Phasma is listed as well, but not Finn.
is it me or does the forest area of the episode 7 cantina map look worse than the endor map in the last game?
Super suprised that no Finn is in development.
Also; Thoughts.
MUCH FUCKING BETTER THAN THE FIRST GAME BUT HAS WEIRD DECISIONS
Though, I guess different dev branches and all that. Phasma could have been started before they split the game branch to release and post-release.
I mean, she's just a first order trooper with silver armour at this point, she could legit have taken them like 10 minutes to even get to the point she's at in the files.
why is boba fett on theed
why didnt they just remove the cloak and give him a blue reskin and two blasters and call him jango fett

Because this game is lacking content in really, really weird places... like heroes, BF2 in 2005 had 5 heroes per faction PER ERA
There is announcer VO for "Capture the Flag" and Starfighter Assault Kamino in the beta files. I don't have the ability to extract it though.

Ah I think CTF is Strike

SP Spoilers
[sp]there are sound files for Takodana filed under 'sp'. That might just be Arcade though or just used on another planet[/sp]
Starfighter assault on an ocean map sounds awesome
Starfighter assault on an ocean map sounds awesome
Well we saw a 'cinematic version' at the end of the Starfighter Assault trailer
[editline]5th October 2017[/editline]
Looks like the Deathtrooper VO might be in as well?
Oh no. OH NO I just realized what this game's entire 'collection' system is. Right down to the alternate versions of abilities that will be added in the future it's just Garden Warfare. And I fucking adore that game

Might be related to that one shot in the trailers of [sp]OT era TIEs chasing after the Falcon with its post-ROTJ sensor dish.[/sp]

I loved their Combine-esce garbled speech in Rogue One. Can't wait to see them in the game proper.
So there is an 'arc' folder under 'specials' (reinforcements) but the only thing there is a 'bacta shield' no other weapons or abilities.

I hadn't considered that.
So glad they straight up give you the alternate Rifle for the main class if you play it enough, the default clone one looks really weird with the two wires sticking out of the end that look super out of place for Star Wars weaponry
I just assumed that each Galactic Conquest map would get era-appropriate heroes in launch when they are all finished and polished. It's going to be weird of Han and Rey remain on Naboo in the Clone Wars.
Is the gunship a fucking joke?
I don't see the reason for the gunship or starfighters on either side, you can't really affect the battle on the ground. The most I've been able to do is stop a couple Ion launches by strafing them as they are aiming. It's impossible to spot normal guys.

It's the Automatico from Battlefield 1 too.
