Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass

AFAIK every weapon in the Beta has shown up before, either in canon or legends.
Or is a variant of.
Seriously look at this. It's perfectly fine but the wires at the end stick out like a sore thumb, and look incredibly stupid in first person

Like the other weapon assault gets can be seen in Episode 1 used by the Naboo Security forces.
Oh yeah, the tiny SMG like thing. I like that way, way better
I'm guessing so people won't care about their K/D ratio.
Luke and Vader sound so much better compared to their audio in BF1, though that isn't saying much.

Huh, the emperor has lines when facing Yoda.
Same with Bossk and Chewbacca.

Apparently they did get Daisy to voice Rey. An EA Community Manger account on reddit confirmed it.

Definitely sounds like Adam Driver doing Kylo Ren. Shame they didn't get Frank Oz to do Yoda, but Tom Kane does a decent enough job. Matt Sloan sounds a lot closer to when he first took the role, but... yeah, still doesn't quite sound right.
As for Daisy Ridley, some of those lines of the old VO are really quite close, but I guess they wanted full authenticity for Rey given that's what they went for with Kylo Ren.

its because its supposed to be a devolution of the E11 so it took elements from the it and the Sterling SMG it was based on and changed them. The Sterling has bent sheet metal around its front sight as a protector and I guess they just took that element without really knowing or caring what it was and made it bigger to make it look more unrefined?

Prequel era blasters all look kinda wonky because they may have real gun parts implemented in them somewhere, but they're not actually based on real guns so they lose a lot of the realistic looking mechanical-ness that the OT blasters did. Despite that the DC-15 still looks rad. Rogue One and the ST got it right though.

That's what the Phase 2 clones use in the movies isn't it? I think I had that same rifle as a toy gun when I was younger
Can anyone place what music this is? Like I recognize it but I'm not sure how it fits with Yoda.

The first one: when Yoda lifts the X-Wing from the swamp in Episode V.
The second: This actually plays in the Escape from Cloud City segment, but it directly preceeds Yoda's Theme. Again, Episode V.
The third: from Yoda's duel with Dooku in Episode II, when Yoda stops the pillar from crushing Obi-Wan and Anakin.
Thank you.

The regular DC-15 looks awesome, I'm not sure why they buggered up the sights on the cut down version
I really like this music.

I can't stress how much better this game is than the first game. My god it's like night and day, and doesn't feel like a cashgrab where 90% of development time went into making the game look and sound good

In all fairness there would have been a lot less work on that front this time around: they already had the stuff for the GCW era, they had a lot of the stuff from the Prequel Era given to them from ILM (it's far easier to work with an already-digital model than it is to scan something then work with that). The Sequel Trilogy era is currently limited by only being able to show Episode VII stuff.
I think this game is the spiritual successor to the original titles. It plays quite close to how I would imagine the gameplay of the original series would have gone had they still been making them today. The classes and Battle Points system should have been there from the start and the modes are quite fun to play, with more variance in objectives than the 2015 title.
the A280c is referred to as its Legends name, A295, in the icon files.
Also referenced is (just ones, AFAIK, we haven't seen yet):
A180 (Jyn's Blaster pistol)
IQA-11 blaster rifle - A bounty hunter used rifle seen in Clone Wars series
EL-16HFE - a variant of the Resistance assualt's EL-16
M-45 - There are a few weapon with this name, but I think it is meant to be the mounted weapon on the U-Wing
nt-242 - Unknown, can't find anything on wookieepedia
rk-3 - Same as above
vt-33d - ditto

Two guys just took the Super Battle Droid hero on Theed and ran to our spawns and killed us there over and over during the MTT phase. They only died when I went Solo at the palace room.
What was that about those units not being powerful enough.

I decided to play starfighter assault with a controller. Pro-tip, switch to legacy immediately. Unfortunately it seems that it... doesn't like controllers? It's kinda choppy when flying.
so when is the open beta starting? what time, what time zone? i can only find the date, not the time
flying with a mouse isn't hard.
so when is the open beta starting? what time, what time zone? i can only find the date, not the time
Should be around 8:00am UTC, same time as early access.
I managed to get 9 kills with the fighter on Naboo before it went to the next phase. All I did was set my speed to the slowest setting, go to the ceiling, dive down fuckin HAWX style, zoom in and look for shit moving then open fire.
Actually had someone on the other team ask his team to "shoot that * vulture down" so I guess I was being effective. Still hard to feel like it isn't better to save the points for a hero or rocket trooper.
I'm baffled how playing the beta for an afternoon made this game go from "Ehhhhhh the first game was kinda ass to be honest" to a day 1.
is there somewhere for me to preload the open beta so i can hop right in on friday?
No preload
The more I play the more it grows on me. I don't think it's going to replace Battlefield or CoD for me, but for a casual shooting experience that doesn't require much investment it's pretty nice. I think I'll hold off on buying it until I see how fleshed out the campaign and arcade modes are though.

oh thank god i was worried they might not have my baby in this game
space luger best gun
btw, does anyone know if the droid officer pistol has appeared elsewhere? far as i can tell it's a new design entirely
Specialists Infiltrate: Scrambler is fucking incredible. Scrambles the enemy radar, shows the enemy on radar, replaces your weapon with that overpowered burst rifle from the first Battlefront, and refreshes on kills. I really want to like Officer but Specialist makes it hard.
Bit disappointed there's no PvE Arcade mode, instead just the 2 challenge things, was interested in just pissing about getting points and trying out the ships and what not.
Also is it just me or does it feel really easy to crash into buildings while flying? I'm able to crash into them and not even know what I actually crashed into.
