BFII seems pretty fun from what little I've played so far. People seem to die a little too quickly though.
Starfighter Assault is fantastic. Makes you wonder why it stopped being cool to make games like Rogue Squadron. Something I didn't like about the OG BFII's space mode was the ship boarding. It took focus away from the aerial combat.
I have it set that I hold onto F and it will lock onto them so I can fire a missile. Otherwise I just shoot them all down. Most people are horrible so I end up with 30+ kills every game.
My F key fires my right ability, which is the missiles. Is there a way to lock on to someone manually without firing the missiles? like if I just want to shoot someone down? Like I said sometimes it does it automatically but most of the time I'm just struggling to keep them in view.

I just aim for the circles when they come into view, no real need to "lock on" if there even is one (i'm not sure, never had to use it).
PC players some config file tweaks you can do. C:\Users\xxx\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II Multiplayer Beta\settings ProfileOptions_profile Change FOV GstRender.FieldOfView FOV 95 : 1.723043 FOV 90 : 1.640049 (From https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7472g5/pc_players_you_can_change_the_default_fov/) Also I thought my game looked blurry/vaseline look etc I noticed this line "GstRender.EnableDynamicResolution" was set to a "1" value now in my mind Dynamic Resolution sounds like something consoles or low end pc's use to downscale your resolution if performance dips and I believe this was left enabled because it is grayed out in the game menu. I changed that to 0 and now my game seems more crisp/clear to me looks like it is rendering in 1080p. Also I read to change the "GstRender.DisplayMappingHdr10PeakLuma" value to 0 especially if you do have an HDR monitor because apparently HDR is broken.
Kind of baffles me how something simple like the FOV slider was disabled. Though it does make 3P a bit too wide for me at 90. I would prefer if there was a 1P FOV and a 3P FOV slider.
Also I thought my game looked blurry/vaseline look etc I noticed this line "GstRender.EnableDynamicResolution" was set to a "1" value now in my mind Dynamic Resolution sounds like something consoles or low end pc's use to downscale your resolution if performance dips and I believe this was left enabled because it is grayed out in the game menu.
It's only greyed out if DX12 isn't enabled.
It's only greyed out if DX12 isn't enabled.
I read to not even enable DX12 anyways as it is broken in this build as well or doesn't work as intended.
Well I have it enabled and I haven't seen any problems, granted I've played like, 5 games total, but still.
The fact that your respawn timer doesn't start until you skip the kill cam and select a troop just about ruins the whole experience for me. Also, I was really liking the Strike game mode up until I realized that I can't spawn in as a rocket troop for three quarters of the game because other people already did. I got tired of playing so fast.
You respawn in waves. The whole "Squad" thing is just your the wave you're respawning with.
Well I have it enabled and I haven't seen any problems, granted I've played like, 5 games total, but still.
Oh I just read on reddit some people were experiencing crashing with DX12 enabled so it must be a user by user case.
I didnt play much of the first game, but I really miss how the guns had no spread bloom. I dont like how inaccurate weapons feel. Id rather the shots to kill was raised a little bit if it meant the weapons were more accurate. Also I have difficulty seeing enemies, and I dont normally have that issue in DICE games. But on Theed I could not see where I was getting shot from at all. Maybe its because the droids blend in with the colours of the buildings and they're really thin but I was getting shot from somewhere and I could not see where droids were at all.
I think Crash and I found the maximum amount of teamwork that can be had in the beta [t]https://i.imgur.com/OcO75Aq.jpg[/t] He just ran ion missiles while I played bodyguard as officer. Every time he poked his head out I'd buff his health then watch his flanks.
I turned on advanced flying which makes it easier to control for me. I just aim for the circles when they come into view, no real need to "lock on" if there even is one (i'm not sure, never had to use it).
Yeah it's different on Theed for some reason. Enemy starships don't automatically get the leading circle when you aim at them like on Starfighter Assault. So I just strafe people because without that dogfighting is ass.
Anyone else concerned about the potential pay to win situation with this game? I mean you can just throw money at crates until you unlock stuff and unlike other games the crates contain game impacting items and not just cosmetics. The door is also wide open for EA to abuse this system down the road. When they say the game won't have paid DLC I get the feeling it's just EA giving with one hand while taking with the other. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/10/07/opinion-star-wars-battlefront-2-beta-raises-pay-to-win-fears
It's pretty shit just by principle but I'm personally not too worried by it. The difference between tiers isn't THAT significant and in the end, how many will even buy a fuckton of crates to the point where they have everything? 1-5%? I'm mostly worried that progression will be grindy for everyone else.

Look, the prospect of visiting the Chiss homeworld is indeed amazing, but I'm not paying them fifteen bucks for what's probably going to be half an hour/45 minutes of new story content and some new daily quests and a flashpoint to grind my arse off in the hope of finding better gear. Not mentioning that this game's story angle is pretty much dragging itself over at this point, but people like me pointed that out a long time ago
Played some Battlefront 2 beta. Already hackers running around. And going off of how EA handled them in the last Battlefront, not a single one is going to be banned no matter how many times they're reported and posted all over Reddit. So PASS
Playing as Maul is fucking intense Christ.
why do droids burn their hands when their blasters overheat

Also where did you see you need to pay for it? Huh it’s also been written in collaboration with Timothy Zahn [editline]7th October 2017[/editline]
Hell I don't even know how to target other ships. Sometimes it happens automatically right after I spawn one, other times I can't get a target lock at all.
Just shoot at them and it should auto target. they got rid of the lock on from BF1 [editline]7th October 2017[/editline] Next time someone here plays as Poe, can you grab a screenshot of the cockpit? Thanks Also the the Tri-Fighter has a 'cockpit'. its interesting, just a FP view with a slight red tint.
I swear this game would be 100x better if the movement speed for everything was bumped up by a good amount.
Seeing how blasters work in this game it's no wonder why storm troopers can hit anything
Is there a way to get rid of this ridiculous oppressive vignetting around the edge of the screen? It feels like I'm being forced to play as someone with tunnel vision.
Is there a way to get rid of this ridiculous oppressive vignetting around the edge of the screen? It feels like I'm being forced to play as someone with tunnel vision.
Right now,no. DICE probably didn't expect people to have an issue with it in beta, but there are gonna be options from it on release. [editline]7th October 2017[/editline]
why do droids burn their hands when their blasters overheat
Also it's a tiny detail because basically the B1s are a massive army with limited intelligence but tons of personality. For example droids spout these lines When an officer places a turret down.
Good luck turret! I have big plans for you!
Then in general droids will say.
Goodbye grenade! We've reached the throne room,it's so fancy! Wow! Those ion disruptors really do work!
It just kinda adds to the humor the droids are suppose to have, so the droids are going to react in slightly exaggerated manner as we saw in TCW. Hell even the droid commander tells them to turn off their pain receptors.
My main issue with Starfighter assault is there is no practical way to avoid missiles. You just have to keep rolling or just get hit.
Seeing how blasters work in this game it's no wonder why storm troopers can hit anything
You'd think that but I'm constantly being oneshot headshot sniped at range by every class *but* the Specialist oddly. I can't decide if it's hacks, lag, if I just suck or a combination of the 3.
My main issue with Starfighter assault is there is no practical way to avoid missiles. You just have to keep rolling or just get hit.
I find interceptors are best at avoiding missiles. For one, save use of the afterburner skill for when a missile is incoming and it will lose it immediately. Otherwise just keep turning and do not fly straight, their maneuverability is helpful. It's so much better than the last game where you were pretty much hosed if someone locked onto you with missiles or lasers.
It's crazy how different all impressions are from each other. For every person who thinks the shooting is great, there's someone who thinks it's shit. Same with fighter combat and even the graphics (not counting the chromatic aberration complaints). Some want the game more like the last one, some want it to be more like Battlefield and some like it how it is. Everyone has such widely different expectations because of the name "Battlefront" and I don't know how Dice could ever make everyone happy. Anyway, I've contemplated buying the game for PS4 instead of PC due to the lower player count. I mean, even an excellent game like Titanfall 2 died down fast. But then I remembered I would have to spend money just to play online so yeeeah that ain't happening. Man, we gamers really dropped the ball on that one when Microsoft introduced Xbox Live back in the day. Makes me happy to see such a big resistance to these lootcrates tbh. I hope EA will consider changing how progression works before the game launches. Basically this: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/74txbz/regardless_of_p2w_or_not_the_loot_crates_as_they/
It's nice to play a DICE game where the quit button works again
So does someone at DICE absolutely hate Obi Wan?
So does someone at DICE absolutely hate Obi Wan?
No.
