Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass

Regiments/legions should be tied to the map, not a customization option.
Armour already is.
And the Naboo legion texture is just called 'naboo' in the Beta files, so that makes me think they will be tied to the map.
The Forest camouflage from Episode 3 on Kashyyyk is in the game files.
Yeah Yeah, that's always what they say. The only anti cheat that works is having people in servers banning people and that's not a thing EA does, nor will they, and since there isn't any server browser or private servers at all, the people who actually play can't police it either
I saw what happened in the first one, and it's going to be no different here. Which is a real damn shame. Look at all the talent that clearly went into making this and they're going to let a few bad apples completely ruin an entire platform
One change in the game I'd like to see is get rid of the second Super Battle Droid and replace it with a Droideka.
Also, the game runs perfectly at 1080 maxed out with shadows on medium. FX8350, R9 380, 16GB RAM. Probably runs fine with shadows topped off, too, but I just go straight to always knocking those on Medium
What about FairFight? Whenever I play Battlefield 1 I see it continuously banning people in the chat feed. I don't own Battlefront 2015 but during its beta I saw the same thing - waves upon waves of cheaters being banned.
I don't disagree that servers with admins would be ideal in addition to FairFight.
I absolutely despise the star card system and it's probably going to make me avoid buying the game for quite a while.
Oh god I wasn't aware of how brutal the stat increases were. The abilities on units are fine because they're gameplay changes, but if you combine the highest tier starship ones you're doing 144% more DPS than players without the upgrades.
Does anyone else feel like the current strike map is one sided? Granted I've only played about 6 matches of it but 4 of them were rebels and it felt like such a breeze to defend the objective even if it was stolen from maz's castle.
The couple times I did get to play imperial got nowhere though we had one match where we got it 5m in front of the evac point only to just get slaughtered by enemy team defending it.
So far have enjoyed the other modes and a step up from battlefront 1. Would have been nice if there were two maps for each mode. Some of my friends got easily bored with only theed being the map and don't like starfighting.
Strike on Takodana is hilariously unbalanced in favor of the Resistance for multiple reasons:
In general their objective is much less complicated to achieve - kill bad men until they stop appearing.
The Resistance forces wear clothes/have fur in earthy brown hues. The First Order has bright white plastic armor. Guess who blends into a forest environment better?
The Resistance's non-rocket specialist is a Wookie with a chargable bowcaster that can dish out explosive shots. The First Order's counterpart is a slow moving flametrooper who lightly tickles enemy forces with his weak ass flamer.
The package is in a tightly packed building with limited entrances inside and excellent vantage points to snipe the oncoming First Order forces outside.
Once the package is on the move, Resistance players spawn closer and closer to the extraction point, up to the point where they're spawning RIGHT NEXT TO THE POINT ITSELF.
Pretty much every match of Strike I've played has just been a meat grinder for the FO as the Resistance slowly whittle away their numbers.

This is gonna be so broken in the long run.
BF4 all over again really with its retarded progressive grind system for weapon unlocks but instead its RNG gameplay drops that do the same effect in essence.

Also hope I'm not the only one who is mildly disappointed that the EE-4 isn't going to be like it is in the beta, I don't really understand how people see it as overpowered in its current form, sure it dominates in close range but as soon as you're against someone who is over 10m away, it just tickles them. Plus the skill its bound to is all about flanking, just like the Vanguard's shotgun which can rip through players just as quick at the same range.
I could just be biased though because I love using both Infiltrator and Vanguard, just so much fun getting behind people and getting the drop on them with these CQC focused weapons.

It's really sad to see the entire First Order Team just funnel themselves into the front entrance and not us the side entrances and flank the resistance players so focused just spraying at the front door.
The times I played as the resistance I have to keep checking each door due to thinking someone would finally wise up but there were times they never did and it was just fighting at one door or outside.

Specialist with Trip Mines is hilarious on this map, just lay them near the side entrances and hear the occasional *bing!* sounds for getting a kill while the rest try the front door :v:
I don't quite like the upgrade system this game has in place, it doesn't fit a multiplayer title. If this crafting-your-upgrades thing was for arcade and single player only that'd fit, but not PvP. Asides from that, it is a lot of fun to capture and objective on Naboo and make one final push as a bunch of droids hearing muffled "good luck, turret!" and "WATCH OOOOOUT!" all over you, and the Officer with Defuser works wonders in that moment.

This sums up my experience with Battlefront II so far pretty well. I get a ton of kills with the specialist and then, if I'm playing clones, I hop in the AT-RT and get like 40 or 50 kills in it.
I've had to lead a brute force charge on the strike map more than once to just get the objective outside of the palace walls, it's frustrating seeing people unable to sneak in when i can literally go through the back door and encounter no resistance lol
also, am i the only one that has no idea how the arcade missions work? like with the darth maul one, it seems like no matter how quickly i'm able to kill all the clones i still end up at about :50 seconds. It seems like the closer together you kill them, the more time you end up taking off the clock but the waves of clones spawn too far away to kill them all at once
I'll be perfectly honest, I've just been running specialist and then going hero for the second half of matches (unless I die early because I suck hard at Jedi heroes).

I absolutely agree with him and after playing the Beta, I'm really worried about how slow progression will be in the full game. Having played the Beta for 11 hours I only got enough crafting parts to get two weapon attachments. I'm still having fun with the game and I will keep my pre-order regardless but damn, they could have made the system so much better.

Why would you tell EA that illegal teenage gambling and p2win is okay?

For the same reason people buy CS:GO. I'm a selfish, evil, greedy sucker who wants to have fun with my friends.
I'm so goddamn torn because of the card bullshit. Unlocking alternate abilities is so awesome, but did the game really need fucking stat upgrades and rare perks like being fucking invincible when using Boba's flight?

You could get your friends to buy something less bullshit.
Yeah infiltration is pretty good

I opened two starfighter packs and got an emote, 3 things of scrap, an infantry duplicate, and a bomber card I already had :hammered:
Alright, I need a definitive answer because I can't find one anywhere else: does aiming down sights ACTUALLY increase your accuracy by any significant margin, or is it mostly cosmetic like the original DICE Battlefront?
If it actually does narrow your CoF I'm going to be pretty disappointed, Battlefront shouldn't be a sprint and stop shooter
Nevermind edit: I looked it up and it turns out that yes, your spread and recoil are significantly reduced if you aim down sights. I'm actually pretty damn put off by this, Battlefront is supposed to be a run and gun shooter. It feels really, really wrong to me to have your gun be an inaccurate piece of shit that randomly flies off target unless you slow down.
What's worse is that a lot of people seem to be saying that this is "greatly improved, more skill-based" gunplay now that they've introduced random chance whenever you're not aiming. Am I really the only one that thinks this is for the worse? Am I yelling at clouds right now?
To be honest I only ADS while sniping or at very long ranges. Like that infiltrator clip I posted I headshot that one guy at close-medium range without ADS. I find that slowing down for more accurate shots ends up getting me killed more than missing an inaccurate spray.

I mostly think it just feels worse. Battlefront 1 for all of its faults felt like it translated the spirit of the original series' gunplay into the modern age well, and the thought that there was apparently a considerable amount of people that hated it and actively wanted it to be more like Battlefield triggers me pretty deeply.
Being able to advance up a field while landing shots on far-off targets if you lead well and they make no attempt to dodge vs having to stop and aim to kill a single man across a road is considerably different game feel, IMO.
Tbh Battlefront 1 felt more star warsey than BF2 mostly because you can keep the chaos going with the lack of weapon spread and need to ADS. Not to mention the better music system and particle effects in place that makes the whole thing feel magical much like the movies.
I mean I like the current class system and TTK of BF2, but I feel that they could've achieved the same effect without having to add the weapon spread that just arbitrarily slows the gameplay down.
I like rolling is back to being a keybind like old battlefronts
If I could buy the Starfighter mode for like £10-£15 and only have access to that, I'd be happy to butyit. Something feels off about Galactic Assault. It might just be the Theed map though.
Also I managed to time this surprisingly well:

[sp]I should have said Resistance instead of Rebellion[/sp]
Thing was already gone when you crashed into it, 0/10, can't even sacrifice oneself properly.
This beta did not last long enough. Or maybe it did because I'm itching to just keep playing it.
Can still play the 2 arcade missions despite the beta being over, although it's pretty dull.
The Beta was extended to the 11th according to the Official Website.

Even if it had ended today, it wouldn't have ended for another 2 hours.
Dunno why they'd extend it, it's not like there's anything else worth seeing now, oh yeah just let me play the same shit even more.
