Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass

Yeah I always preferred the original as well, the movement and gameplay felt nicer for some reason, and it had some of the best maps I've ever played -- Rhen Var Harbor, Bespin Platforms, Jabba's Palace were all done beautifully with really fun chokepoints that were perfect for rockets and grenades.
Battlefront 2 also had Jabba's Palace I remember but I never enjoyed it because the spawn points were changed which eliminated the choke point on the stairs
Also Geonosis, Kashyyk, Tattooine were all better designed in og Battlefront plus it had Bespin and Kamino

Not got much hope for this. Seems to just add to the concern that it'll just be re-used multiplayer assets with a bit of story and a few cutscenes slapped ontop. You've got [sp] Theed, Takodana, Maz, The Millenium Falcon, Han, Leia, Luke, Kylo... [/sp] it's like they're just shoving in everyone and everything they can. Rather than a unique, hand-crafted campaign it feels more like it's just there for the sake of being there. It seems less like it's in because they wanted to tell this story, more it's in because they wanted to do something with the multiplayer assets. The large time-scale it covers only makes it seem even more like they're doing that.
Also, still pretty much no gameplay has been shown.
Trailer:
[sp]So, they're going to show Operation Cinder on Naboo, which explains why we saw Leia's outfit from her comic book in some MP videos. Also Gozani Cruiser's carrying AT-ATs, haha yesss[/sp]
I'm reminded more of Rogue One where it needs to have a constant barrage of references
I wouldn't call R1 a constant Barrage, there was a lot more unique stuff. Entirely new planets and such.
I only only think of a couple instances where the references were useless to the story.

SP also has 2 planets that won't be in MP. A mission set inside of a Mon Cal cruiser which AFAIK won't be in MP. They do have things just made for Single Player.
Should've been a given that under Disney and EA the SP would be lackluster. SP Star Wars died when the IP left LucasArts.

No, it should be given because Battlefront is primarily an MP game, not SP.
Has nothing to do with who is making it, but industry trends.
[editline]19th October 2017[/editline]
and it hardly looks like it is going to be lackluster to me.
But then again I'm not expecting more then 5 hours. I'm happy with at least 5 hours.
Games having bad campaigns because "it's primarily an MP game" is not an excuse when Titanfall 2 released last year.
We don't even know if it is bad yet.
Not saying it is, but if it needs up being the case, that's not an excuse.
OG Battlefront 2's singleplayer just had MP maps with slightly different objectives in it with just a monologue between missions. I just want to see more star wars story stuff in general honestly.
Oh shit (SPOILER) [sp]there's totally some Operation Cinder satellite fuckery going on on Vardos. Is this going to be something that makes Iden turn?[/sp]

I have a feeling Iden [sp]isn't going to turn against the Empire, but against the wishes of post-death Palpy-bot, and probably her father. End Operation Cinder and lead the Empire into the Outer Rim to form the First Order. Or they'll stop Cinder only to be left directionless, and be contacted by Snoke in the post-credits stinger.[/sp]

If you listen to the music towards the end you can hear very faintly, as the Galactic Empire theme hits its last note, there's a sinister bass line that slowly fades into the central tune of the First Order's suite. Cryptic.

The face is obviously made from actual footage of Ford from the early 80's, the stance is straight out of the promotion shots - then why does he look like a cheap knock-off? It's not the uncanny valley - Leia renders look fucking astonishing

There was an actual in game screen shot I posted a few pages back that looks more accurate then that render.

According to Gamespot you can unlock stuff in the Campaign that you can use in Multiplayer.

Its reported that the SP will be 5-7 hours long
https://press-start.com.au/news/playstation/2017/10/20/star-wars-battlefront-iis-single-player-campaign-will-last-5-7-hours/
As expected, but still slightly disappointing
Long as its short but sweet that's not too bad
Wasn't expecting too much out of a multiplayer focused game. As long as the actual missions are fun and the story's good I can live with that.

That's Kylo's theme, not necessarily The First Order's.
The Imperial March was also originally Vader's theme IIRC, and just evolved to be the entire empire.

They should get whoever voiced Han Solo in 'Empire at War' to voice him in Battlefront, hes a good sound alike.

It's named "The Imperial March" in the ESB OST released in 1980, are you sure about that? Maybe when the film wasn't finished yet
Well theme is played almost every time Vader is on screen or is mentioned.
A song doesn't have to be called "Vader's Theme" to be his official theme. Just like how Duel of the Fates is Darth Mauls theme.
it was subtitled as "Darth Vader's Theme" on the original soundtrack release, though.
Though, thanks to Rebels, it is an actual piece of Music in universe now.
Apparently it was in Legends as well.

A rocket battle droid hummed it Clone Wars as well, but that is probably just an Easter egg.

I still adore how Kevin Kiner managed to make one of the most iconic villain themes in history into cheerful parade music.
