Allegedly he claimed that the 'Arm Chair developer' comment was directed towards the Destiny's Fan base not Star Wars.
I don't believe him.
Yeah they honestly need to if they want this game to have a decent life span like they keep saying they want it to since they aren't doing the season pass.
too bad that in Electronicartsian "decent life span" translates as "long enough to milk it dry, then shoot it and dump it in a ditch"
applies to both games and developers

Same shade of BS as "giving players sense of pride and accompilshement".
What the fuck made EA think it's a good idea to give you 100 points everytime you die, and 200 points if you die a lot? Points are meaningless in Battlefront 2. I know people are a bit hung up on the microtransactions right now but the whole fucking game is a joke
I preordered the deluxe edition on PSN way before I knew about any of this overpriced locked character stuff.
I didn't have a bad experience just casually playing the beta. I enjoyed my time.
So I think I'll have a good time here too. I never get enough points to be heroes anyway, and I'd rather be behind the AT ST or a Super Battle Droid.
(I nay start caring if and when Grievous is added, though...)

The beta was the best part. The rest of the maps are garbage. The Kashyyyk clones are just lazily retextured episode 3 troops with some green markings. There are no stakes. You get 4 times as many points for dying to a hero as you get for killing another player. Refund it while you still can.
Kamino sucks too

I enjoyed the beta too, in fact I think it was one of the most fun games I've played. It genuinely felt amazing to play(atmosphere especially) and it was a lot of fun and I was thinking of buying the game. But now that the actual numbers in the full game have been revealed...It's not worth it at all.

I'm agreeing with your post, but as someone who also played the Trial which you get with Origin Access that released on the 9th (10 hours of gameplay , was able to play every mutliplayer map) I'd just like to emphasize that they put their best maps (By FAR) in the beta. The rest seem extremely lazy.
Also on PC, there is still no way to change your own VOIP settings or mute your own mic within a party. The amount of things they managed to overlook is amazing.
I'm enjoying the memes so far.

Really? I thought the castle map with FO and Resistance was bad enough because of how easy it was for Resistance to stomp on FO...
I like most of the new Galactic Assault maps a lot. Mos Eisley in particular. Kashyyyk feels a bit too open at the start but at the same time it's nice to have variation. They all feel very distinct from each other.

Idk how it played on console but i had a great deal of fun as first order on that map, but you gotta coordinate with a few friends as first order on that map to win. We would always win as long as we had 4 people in our party

I've yet to get Kashyyyk, I really want to see the inside of the Venator.

Apparently the biggest downvote in Reddit history as well kind of crazy that should show them they need to listen to the community.

Not sure why hero unlocks were the straw that broke the camel's back, when it was already public that people could pay to get the items to unlock fucking obscenely broken abilities.
Really revolutionary of EA to introduce the first system of Universal Basic Income via points earned in-game.

Because it's bringing absurdness to a whole new level in the game.

I'm pretty sure there's some botting going on tbh. The star wars sub only has around 90K total subscribers, and even if outsiders came in to downvote that, I don't see 300K+ people downvoting one post so quickly. It's also far more than 300K downvotes since that isn't taking any potential upvotes into account.

I don't follow the subreddit but i still down-voted because i found the beta pretty fun and was tempted to buy it and i'm hoping most of the other votes are the same. 300,000 people not buying/refunding a game will cost them £16m+ ($21m), although i know most xbox/ps4 players will still buy it then give up after 6 hours once they hit the grind.
Singleplayer was pretty good, hope the SP DLC will be just as good.

There's a huge number of number of subreddits which linked the comment (a huge number of gaming subreddits), and it's made to the front page of reddit. It's really not surprising it's getting that number of downvotes.
It got 2k more downvotes within the span of 5 minutes so maybe there is some botting going on but who knows. Regardless, it's a fun game to see how many downvotes it can get.
I'm really enjoying the starfighter mode, so i'm not sure if I'll cancel my preorder. At least in that mode we don't have hero locking bullshit and cross era weapons. I'm mostly interested by that and the story, ground combat isn't something I wanna focus on.
But it feels like this mode is lacking something, and I think it could use another spaceship class, like enforcers in the ground combat, and transports that could buff your teammates in order to focus on fighting as a squadron.
Faction : Transport/enforcer
CIS : Sheathipede/HMP Droid
Republic : LAAT/Jedi starship
Empire : Those TIE Striker transports from rogue one, the various shuttles/ TIE Defenders
Rebellion : U-Wings/B-Wings
First Order : Kylo's Shuttle/ ???
Resistance : Leia's modified B-Wing transport/ ???
They also need to add bombers to both sequel factions, now that they both have some.
Taking control of turrets too, so you'd have something to spend battlepoints on beside the limited heroes.
I'm really hoping the free DLCs will flesh out that mode, because i'm really enjoying it atm.
And man, if only they'd drop the stat increase starcards and replace them with cosmetic, there could be so many cool squadrons markings too!
Am I naive for thinking that they will probably reduce the cost of heroes significantly before the 17th? Like...It would make no sense for them to release a statement tomorrow saying that everything will stay the way they are. It's indefensible.
Of course I don't expect the whole progression system to actually become GOOD but they must know that absolutely no one wants heroes locked behind this much grinding. Even as a whale you're forced to rely on getting duplicates in order to get credits.
But of course...it's EA.
You'd still have to completely fix the star cards to make me want to play the game for any extent of time.
Apparently this was in the store for a while now, but....

:wow:
BFII could be salvaged. The actual gameplay is pretty damn fun, with Starfight Assault as the real highlight for me.
It's just that doing so would require a substantial rework of the Star Cards system - and I get the impression that EA is not willing to let them go that far.
Some people now say they've received an email stating that you can "Pre-order to receive instant access to six bonus heroes". There are currently six locked heroes but it could also be a mistake and that they actually meant to write "6 epic hero star cards".

Yeah, I doubt that's going to extinguish the fire if it's true...
