I love how ranking up is pointless. I don't get credits, I don't get loot boxes, I don't get class progression or new weapons.
Ranking is there to make the grind longer. Want to upgrade your star cards? Gotta be a certain rank for each tier. But if you get the higher tier card in a lootbox, you're golden. Though to my knowledge, aside from pre-order crates and the like, purple cards can only be crafted, which you still have to be rank 20 or so to do in addition to having that class' level at a certain number.

They legit designed this as a free to play game. It's so obvious how progression works.

Arcade mode unfortunately still sucks with this entry I was hoping there'd be actual modes like the old battlefront 2's offline, but it's just team death match and time attack. They made it better from last game by adding options, but since the rewards are zilch, there's no engaging objective besides "kill the other guys" and the already flat rated and low reward is on a fucking 24hr timer there's little point in playing it even if for fun [editline]18th November 2017[/editline]
Even still it's already 4,000 for a single loot box like holy shit on top of all the heros (I already bought Luke, Vader, and Leia from almost a whole day of play). Just more hero shit and hero ship and trooper cards Opened a hero crate, got infantry and ship cards The prices are crazy and they all seem to just be the same shit
https://venturebeat.com/2017/11/17/star-wars-battlefront-ii-almost-had-way-more-overwatch-style-hero-skins/ Interesting if true
Would make some sense; while EA is certainly cool with pay2win loot boxes, DICE has only used them for cosmetics in Battlefield 1 so far; the lack of cosmetics after the last game had so many is odd; and it certainly wouldn’t be the first time some corporate busybody who has never played a game in their lives forced a decision that fucked everything up.

It's just me, or main menu in EABF2 is clunky and reacting too slow for mouse?
Saw this on reddit, there is a portrait of what looks like Hondo Ohnaka in Maz's castle Matches his Clone Wars look. [t]https://i.redd.it/hrnhehea3ryz.jpg[/t]
I think what i feel is the worst about this outrage is that there is absolutely no talk about the game's other problems. Awful unit balance, map balance, gamemode balance, hero balance, performence. The enormous amount of bugs, the non-lootbox progression etc etc.
Jim Sterling's video on the game talks about some of these points and a bit about microtransactions which shows the game in a...different light to what I expected.
Honestly they really do need to make it more like a battlefield clone
Honestly they really do need to make it more like a battlefield clone
b-b-but our "unique player experience"! we cant just "rip off" our own game!
the final control point on GA Endor is just a grind house
Honestly they really do need to make it more like a battlefield clone
It does not matter to me if they do, but i honestly enjoy the gameplay as is. It is a bit refreshing to play something a little bit diferent than just the same thing again, they just really need to balance it better. Honestly galactic and starfighter assault is probably two of the most fun gamemodes i've played in my life. I'd much rather have this than a battlefield clone unless it would actually take the place of one of the biennial battlefield releases
One thing I will say from having played the beta and watched footage is the way starfighters are implemented on ground maps is kinda awkward. They can't really help with the map objectives beyond just shooting things, and they just feel disconnected from what's going on down on the ground.
I feel like so many of the maps are just terrible balanced in one way, with OT and PT era maps being more balanced. Jakku Takadona Starkiller Base are all favored for the resistance just due to. 1. Jakku is a CONSTANT uphill battle, after phase 1, resistance gets progressively shorter spawns to the objective 2. Takadona is just again the same way but with the added fact that Takadona is greens and browns which the Resistance is, while FO is all white. Combine with distinct terrain advantages, the Resistance is just gonna win with ease. 3. Why the fuck do they give Resistance XWings and Awings in the 1st phase? You're giving them a free phase win if someone decent is flying. 2nd Phase is bearable but if someone doesn't get in the TIEs you're gonna find yourself loosing real quick. After that it depends. Hoth is fucking bullshit after the walker phase. Rebels spawn way to close to their objective and Imps spawn too far.
if the microtransactions wars taught me anything, is that im oldschool and im open just for ONE selling system model: -Release your damn game with everything on it, and then you ahead and update it as much as you can. -make a big expansion as dlc as big as a third of the content the original game has, charge for it -Continue i remember no one complaining about expansions being released because they were big and worth the price. The only stuff i thought was too much was all the sims dlc it had, and surprise surprise its ea again welcome back.
I'd only buy an expansion if it was for SP stuff. Rather not have pay for MP DLC.
Honestly they really do need to make it more like a battlefield clone
N O make it more like an improved version of the older battlefronts, if anything (which is admittedly still battlefieldy)
Huh, the chamber where Kylo talks to Snoke in Ep7 is in the Starkiller map, you can't go into it, you can only see it from a hole in a wall [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/330822032097017856/381631064554209281/image.png[/t] [editline]18th November 2017[/editline] there is a non-solid wall near by that you can jump through and into the chamber, but the floor isn't solid The black area in the door way [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/330822032097017856/381633664196542474/image.png[/t] [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/330822032097017856/381633819608088581/image.png[/t]

Today i played with a team that was probably the worst i have ever seen. Didn't even put up a fight no matter where we went and got wiped and annihilated every single time they tried anything and were cut down like butter. We still won as the resistance in Jakku's final phase. If any resistance team loses a match on Jakku, they are baaaaaaaaaaad. I've also noticed that Takadona is weirdly balanced. The first phase favors the resistance immensely, while the second and third favor the first order. I've only seen the first order lose after taking the first phase a single time so far. Even with a close battle for the first phase, the second and third tend to be a complete steamroll. I also really, really hate kashyyk, it is an awful map with an awful layout and it is really hard to have a decent match on it unless you're in a vehicle or as a hero. Kamino also heavily favors the clones to the point where i've only seen the droids get to phase 3 once, and i've never seen a droid win ever even on pretty equal teams. Hoth is also incredibly skewed towards the rebels due to its final point, and likewise does Endor's final point heavily favor the empire. Heroes also kinda ruin the game right now. Most matches end with one side either wiping the other with a 4 hero rush on the final points, or with one side just spamming more heroes than the other and winning as a result due to the opposing side having spent their battlepoints on other stuff than heroes.
N O make it more like an improved version of the older battlefronts, if anything (which is admittedly still battlefieldy)
The older battlefronts are literally battlefield clones.

They're very useful on Kashyyyk for example seeing as the person holding the ion disruptor is lit up like a christmas tree.
I really hope this game hasn't poisoned the well on Star Wars games with an imperial perspective [sp] for more than five fucking minutes. [/sp] [sp]Being imperial special forces is such a winning concept, but of course EA and DICE weren't content to just fuck the multiplayer up, had to ruin that too. [/sp] God, fuck this game.
Still waiting for Republic Commando 2: Imperial Commando
You mean Republic Commando 2: Rebel Commando?
You mean Republic Commando 2: Rebel Commando?
the funny thing is that i think [sp]a defection or otherwise going-rogue could be played really, really well in a hypothetical imperial commando with all the baggage delta has with sev but now if they do it it'll feel even more cliche than it already is[/sp] [editline]19th November 2017[/editline]
The older battlefronts are literally battlefield clones.
kiiiiiind of, i think there's enough subtle differences i'd be pretty livid if they made the shooting more like modern battlefield, personally. battlefront should never require you to aim to hit targets beyond close range
