You mean Republic Commando 2: Rebel Commando?
No he means Imperial Commando, that was the name of the cancelled game.
Between being consistently put on terrible teams (not even an exaggeration, I've barely had any wins since launch since I'm always getting put on the teams that both don't know how to fucking play objectives and spamming shitty Star Wars quotes) and the classes I actually want to use being terrible I'm starting to feel more or less completely turned off this game. Funny that it wasn't all the greedy shit on EA's part.
Which classes is it you're trying to play?
any of them they're all pretty bad in their own ways, especially without unlocks I thought this game was good and that micros were ruining it but the more of it I play I'm starting to realize this game is actually pretty bad They're sitting there with their thumb up their ass not fixing progression and the games liable to die quickly like the first one at this rate I queued for a hero battle and sat at hero select with "finding players" for like ~20 minutes with some other dudes

The only one i'd consider worse without them is the heavy just because the basic heavy blaster is just a worse version of the one you unlock after 50 kills. The only gripes i have with the classes is that they all mostly have one ability you can't replace. Like the sentry for the heavy, vanguard for the assault etc. The basic assault blaster is a headshot god, and is great at range if your aim is good, perfect to counter-snipe with. The cards you get mostly only affect cooldowns so they're not a terribly needed thing. The officer's base blaster is also extremely powerful, and i've found it sometimes to be a better sniper than snipers. The basic sniper is also pretty amazing and well balanced towards the other snipers. But of course the classes all have their own strengths and weaknesses, but that doesen't make them bad. Also if you're stuck in a "finding players" server the best bet is just to leave and find another.
Specialist.
Specialist is actually really, really good. From my playtime, i've found it important to not be overly confident and to play cautiously, but of course the map needs to suit the class as well. The base sniper is a headshot machine, and will destroy most people. You'l need to remember to move a lot and pay attention, since you only have 100hp and most other snipers will be looking for you. But once you get used to the playstyle the class needs, it will work like a dream. Also the special ability the class gets with the burst fire blaster is god-tier, and don't forget to use your wallhack goggles.
I'm having a lot of fun with the officer personally. I like the ability to remote detonate the flashbang at will. Means you can detonate it above enemies and let the "pellets" drop on top of them. Making the health buff temporary is also a nice touch because it motivates people to actually move forward while it's active. The Blurrg with attachments is also good enough to challenge just about every non vehicle unit in the game.
Don't you even think about unlocking Palpatine. He's literally the worst hero. Currently my favorite maps are Death Star 2 escape, Endor and Kashyyyk. I had big luck with Kashyyyk, because I was able to play it during night. Man, this is amazing. Hoth is fucked up with stuttering during base phase. And just like in EABF2015, Jakku is dull. Also, I'm amazed how they replaced Gallofrees with U-Wings.
I had to get it because my son really wanted it. The progression and loot boxes don't really bother me, I just play. What IS bothering me so far is that I have no reason to care which team wins in multiplayer. Like "Resistance Victory" then wonder "was I resistance?" then quickly realize I don't care anyway. The match just ends. I feel like I should care.

Galactic Assault never takes more than 20 minutes, as opposed to a BF1 operation that can span between one and two hours. When you struggle for that long with and against the same groups of people, you form a brief bond with them, especially when you start talking in text chat planning strategies and stuff. Here, if you lose, you didn't invest much time or thought into it, and any changes in strategy generally can't affect the final outcome of the battle.

I think my favorite lmg is the M-45 in terms of looks and sound design.

Nevermind the fact it looks hilarious with how long it gets.
Palps primary is weak but you have to use his abilities.
Hm, perhaps that's why I'm sucking with him. Please, could you tell me about his rmb attack? It's for deflecting blaster attacks?
I just noticed it's possible to use a tow cable on the walkers on Hoth when the AT-ATs are low on health. I don't think it's automated this time either. I think you have to fly through circles around it instead. Died before I could fully try it out.
Hm, perhaps that's why I'm sucking with him. Please, could you tell me about his rmb attack? It's for deflecting blaster attacks?
LMB is left hand lightning. RMB is right hand lightning. LMB+RMB is both hands.
His melee is basically a defib.
Nah, he's just awful all around, easily the worst hero in the game by far and afaik generally considered underpowered as sin.
I've been having fun with him especially since I get shot less than when I'm wielding a saber.
It's really hard to 1v1 just one assault player with vanguard as Palpy. With just the basic lightning attack, he'll kill you before you kill him assuming he doesn't miss any shots. Tbh I find every melee hero except Yoda and Maul to be borderline useless in just about every situation because you can't defend yourself against more than a couple of regular soldiers at a time. Attack one and the other will take you down to half health if not more. Special troopers need four swings to kill (if I'm not mistaken) and that's more than enough to get yourself killed instantly. Using your abilities will also make you vulnerable for way too long.
If we're talking about heroes I've got to say that I really love playing as Yoda. I hated him jumping about with a lightsaber in the prequels but actually playing him has almost completely converted me. He doesn't seem to do as much damage with his saber as the bigger jedi but it works because he has a clear defensive focus. His dash attack is quick and actually makes you harder to hit, unlike Rey's, where you may as well hold a big sign saying "shoot me". His support buff heals himself as well as others, which helps out the team. And his unleash ability is absolutely tons of fun when you pair it with his right-click block. You get a bunch of heavies laying fire into you and it's just no bother, just hold up your hand, catch it all and use it to charge unleash, which kills them and all their buddies. Then it's back to being the coolest little goblin fella about.
I think [sp]Shriv[/sp] is my favourite character other than Iden in the Battlefront 2 single player.
So I've updated my map list. All Sequel Era maps favor Resistance, not ifs, ands,or buts. Yavin,Hoth,Mos Eisley favor defending Rebels immensely. Kamino favors clones outright, Theed is favorable for droids due the ability for the LAAT to be meaningful as well as air cover being fucked by the buildings. Endor,Death Star Two,Kashyyyk are fairly balanced and don't favor one side too hard. Endor is just a slog because Rebels need to get three points but it's doable, Kayshyyyk is just shitty in general. DS2 might be the best map because no side has a big advantage. These maps are not fun to play as, no matter how good your team is, the defenders are going to outright win most games unless it's specific maps. My current tally for map wins as attackers are. DS2 (Rebels) - 4 Endor (Rebels)- 3 Mos Eisley (Empire)- 3 Yavin (Empire)- 1 Jakku (First Order)- 1 SKB (Resistance)- 7 Takadona (First Order)- 0 Kamino (Droids)- 1 Kashyyyk (Droids)- 4 Theed (Droids)- 4 Hoth (Empire)- 0
I don't see the point in playing melee heroes outside of it being cool to be a jedi/sith. At least for HvV mode, Solo/Lando and Boba/Bossk are the best picks.
Like playing the falcon in starfighter it just puts a big target on your back

Might have worked in EAFront 1 and 2005 BF2. But the heroes there were a lot more durable or gained HP on kills.

I hate those animals and random creatures / people running around because I always mistake them for an enemy out of the corner of my eye.
