Electronic Arts may not bring microtransactions back to Star Wars Battlefront II, the chief financial officer of Electronic Arts told a gathering of investors earlier this week.

Too fucking accurate.
I think what bothered me most about the campaign was [sp]you trade that dope ass armor for some fucking ugly ass floppy rags.[/sp]

Gotta show off ability to create fabric textures and wobbly physics
I think Phasma is voiced by Gwendoline Christie, but hard to tell with only one line.

Hopefully this will be closer to the movie then the R1 DLC since they've been working with LucasFilm a lot more closely.
Also some nice shots of the Resistance ships

Do any of you get error code 201? I can't find anything to fix my connection problem. Some dude said it was a program blocking connection cause of a window update compatibility issue but i cant find anything online
Alrighty I did something retarded the past couple of days. So, 2 days ago I bought the deluxe edition with a 30 percent off coupon and nabbed the game at 60 bucks. Played for 3 hours and got bored and decided to refund the game. But the next morning I thought wait maybe I don't want to refund the game since it filled the itch I needed and went through my emails and went to cancel my ticket requesting a refund. I was very sure I had cancelled it and went the whole day playing it and the next half a day with the game still in my library. Then somehow the refund request went through and now I'm like shit, I actually still want to play the game. At first I was going to buy the deluxe again but I realized something, if my progress saves and all the deluxe edition gives is loot boxes, would buying the standard edition let me keep all the goodies?
I bought the standard edition for 45 bucks and I still have all my shit.

Paying the 20 extra for the cards is bullshit
Nothing in the deluxe edition is exclusive, you can get it in game.
Mind you it will take a long, long while with the current system.
So in the trailer there seems to be a very very flat map
[thumb]http://puu.sh/yBBLq/1e522ca8ed.jpg[/thumb]
easy sniping for defense :v:
Couldn't have done a more uninteresting map imo
I thought it was cool when i first saw it but the more I see it it just looks boring
So this will be our first look at the First Order AT-ST too, won't it?
I think a lot of it is going to be played out underground. I don't think they'd make the map that flat if that wasn't the case.

In game? Yes. But we've already seen it in the TLJ trailers.

There are man made and natural trenches along the defense line.
The whole thing is probably going to play like Hoth, phase 1 walker, phase 2 base defense and phase 3 escape.
This is how it looks in the movie, so it really isn't the game's fault.
so uhm... correct me if I'm wrong but if you get into a dogfight with a player with the 20% reduced turn rate star card - you're basically fucked?
what is balance?
how do the developers sleep at night?
They probably cant sleep because they're frustrated that they were forced to shove this micro-transaction shit into their game by EA big wigs and now they have to figure out how to salvage things.

Didn't even know that was a thing, but that definitely explains how I can go in circles with another ship on my tail for like minutes straight, and consistently get hit while doing so.
craft the cards yourself
craft the cards yourself
Well yah that's obvious but at the same time it's a really really shitty design/card

This, but applied to every aspect of the game. Which is why I roll my eyes every time someone says "But the gameplay is good except for the lootcrates" because the lootcrate/star card system is so thoroughly intrinsic to the core gameplay that you can't possibly judge the gameplay without including it.
I've given up on multiplayer. Between Battlefield 1 and CoD WW2 I have enough adversarial shooters to play without dealing with Battlefront 2's freemium bullshit. If I wanted to slowly grind to get better murdering people, all while being kicked in the teeth by the people who have nothing to do all day but play video games, I'd go back to World of Tanks because at least it's free.

Well those reviews were made back when most people were on even ground.
I bet if those reviewers were to re-evaluate it now they'd change their mind.

I want some actual damn gameplay of Crait and D'Qar, not just that trailer.

In truth that picture has awoken some very nasty memories from the final mission of the campaign of the original Star Wars: Battlefront II, "Our Finest Hour".
The mission is basically you playing as an Imperial soldier during the event of the Battle of Hoth from the Empire Strikes Back.
The first straw of the mission has you trying to capture two control points and then blow up the base's shield generator. The problem of this sequence is that the map's first area is huge and flat and the rebels have plenty of snipers equipped with deadly accuracy who can one-shot you across the whole slog, so going on foot is out of the question. You can mount an AT-AT walker, sure, but the damn thing is really slow and the enemies will slowly but surely sap its health away.
It's worth mentioning that the mission doesn't get any easier afterwards, to the point that even playing as Darth FUCKING Vader doesn't improve things one bit

Like even if I can get the game for a huge discount, I'd hesitate because the game is that fucking broken
I wonder if the FO AT-STs will be added to other maps.
Vader's gameplay footage on the official website shows standard Imperial AT-STs on Jakku, they might have been placerholder for this one that they forgot to disable when recording.
Though the Resistance doesn't have any ground vehicles to counter them.

BF2 apparently only sold 882k retail copies in the first month
BF1 sold around 1-2 Million first month, can't find a solid figure.

I really don't know why anyone would pick Chewie over a regular Wookie. The standard wookie seems to do a lot more.
Does anyone else alt tab and have their graphics card completely go nuts and just crash the game.
So about these TLJ single player missions, is anyone else hoping for [sp]Hask getting some good development concerning his anger toward Iden and Del? I fully expect him to just be a snarling villain like he has been so far, but there's some real wasted potential there IMO.
Imagine people you spend most of your day with, people who you work with and consider good friends, people who you even believe you share political beliefs with, suddenly just not being that anymore? Like they even share a couple of 'god damn rebel scum' zingers like "rebellions are built on hate" etc. He probably thought they were his best friends; they fought together, they'd likely risked their lives defending one another as well, then ONE mission goes pretty fucked and instead of your commanding officer going to her Dadmiral or doing literally anything to stop Operation Cinder and help reform the Empire - she fucking bolts, takes the ship (and presumably some crew) and before the civilian corpses on Vardos are even cold, she's shaking hands with your mutual sworn enemy.
You can't even call what's left of your special forces regiment 'Inferno Squad' anymore because they bloody keep on using that name. And let's face it, with the Empire in the state it's in, there's no way they're going to renew Inferno Squad, so at best Hask becomes a commander of a skeleton crew task force before he's captured and strung up for war crimes, which wouldn't take very long with a security breach as large as Iden's defection. At worst he's dead in a month, or knocked back down to being stormtrooper levels of cannon fodder. That's the scale of betrayal we're talking about here. [/sp]
