Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass - Games

If we get a facepunch SWG thing going what do we need? I loved it as a child when ROTS was new.

The few things I heard about Star Wars Galaxies make me HYSTERICAL, I could be in as well

All I remember is the games story stopped being ultimate fun for me the minute I got dark side points like I did something super wrong and then I got ripped off getting traded droidekas for my collectors edition walker I think I got the dark side points when I was told to talk to some angry rebel guy or some shit and he was talking about his sis and something bad and I encouraged him to take action not realizing what it implicated. I'm about to try out SWG Reborn and see if it's worth talking about. Otherwise, there's always SWGEmu. Basically it's a decision between Pre-CU and NGE. All you need is the original game discs/installation and the rest is done through third party installations. You just connect and make a character and you're golden. Second life is such an enigma to me. I tried to play and I literally don't understand how people could change their looks to different game models and shit without doing some sketchy real money transaction. And I love the pose in front of the random nebula.

It took me forever to figure out how to make avies and shit. I bummed the mando armor on some quitter or hacker or something But yeah I'll go with whatever you guys pick for galaxies, I don't even remember how it was played and I was so young I probably didn't pay attention to playing it at all, so things like the controversial patch won't matter

It's just been longer since I've tried NGE and I miss a lot of it.

I actually enjoy some roleplay. Not sitting around typing /me but being in character when I speak. Adds to the immersion IMO. Also that just triggered another second life memory. Some RPer with Jango Fett armor with a wolf head shaped helmet and tail (furry Jango armor basically) chased me around and harassed me because I didn't know how to type back to him in mandalorian language and I had on my mando armor. He was very mad that I was dressed in mando while not memorizing the language on some fan wiki or some shit I also pissed off a stormtrooper because I declined to go along with his scenario of arresting me not realizing what fail rp is in those days. I had to be like 11-12. 14 at oldest.

I have it somewhere but it'll be a BITCH to find. I might have an image disc of it from last time I tried to get on SWGEmu. Wonder if Best Buy still has copies laying around. I bought it from there all that time ago. Same for CSS when I first got steam in 2009

I mean if SWG reborn is up and coming now, how about we form an Imperial Facepunch guild. (Because rebels are scum and always will be.)

If you guys would actually like to make a FP group for one of the SWG emulators, we could probably be mostly set up by tomorrow night.

I'd totally be up for a guild... but the question is: NGE (SWG Reborn) - Dumbed down levelling system with a whole bunch of Jedi. Pre-CU (SWGEmu) - Dated combat, severe lack of cosmetic accessories and armors, seemingly further from JTL completion. Also, Best Buy won't carry it; at least not in store. If it's online, it'd have to be sold through Marketplace (third party, like on amazon). Source: I work at BB

shit, you guys have me sold on this as well. problem is, i never owned a copy of swg, since my mom would never buy me computer games, as i was forced to go play outside and have an imagination and read books and all that stuff. i only played it like twice at a friend's house, and swgemu doesn't work with trial stuff. hell, she was livid when i got battlefront 2 for christmas from my uncle. so anyway i'm looking on amazon, and fuck me, the prices for any swg thing that isn't an expansion pack is ridiculous. anywhere from $40-$60, and that's a used copy. however, i did find this mmo pack that's on the relatively cheaper side. $25 and you get matrix online, swg starter, everquest, planetside and everquest 2, but also used. ebay isn't any better.

So anyone else that plays the GOG version of Tie-Fighter and X-Wing, do you randomly have the music just stop until you launch the game again? 1998 version btw

You start with a basic one and can branch into any tree of any profession you'd like, including a second basic one and advanced from there. You could go Bounty Hunter, only take the Carbine tree for Bounty Hunter, then go to the Carbineer class and get everything in that as well

I'm down for whatever. I'm more concerned on affiliation. I like to play a heroic so rebels seems like a good fit. Is there "sith" with good guy (light side?) points like TOR? Probably gonna be an anti-hero darth or bounty hunter/ imperial sympathizing smuggler if possible

It wasn't the class system that bothers me to be fair, it's the aged combat and the lack of content. And affiliation doesn't matter. You can pick whatever side you want.
